Spiritual Awakening

Spiritual Awakening

Seeing his own arrogant and domineering face in childhood through other people's eyes, Ying Yungui wanted to laugh, but unfortunately he was now "Red". Not only could he not laugh, but he also felt a surge of grievance in his heart.

Little Ying Yungui frowned in dissatisfaction at Reid's cowardly look: "You are the young master of the Ryan family after all. Don't you feel ashamed to let them bully you like this?" Reid faced the little guy who was more than a head shorter than him, and he felt that he had the shadow of his father.

Just as tough and direct, as if failure and pain will never happen to them.

Reid pinched the corner of his clothes and whispered, "I'm used to it." He was just a side child of Noah. His mother was not a powerful psychic, and he had no power to rely on. He was only taken back to his family because he was lucky enough to awaken the supernatural powers passed down from generation to generation in the Ryan family when he was born.

He knew from a young age that he was not very liked by his father, and he was also used to the cold eyes of those in the clan who knew about him. He had experienced being ridiculed and bullied by children of similar age many times, like today.

Little Ying Yungui was completely baffled, unable to understand how someone could be so cowardly, clearly possessing superpowers. "You?" he was about to say, when the boy who had previously slipped under the tablecloth came running over, cursing. "Who are you? How dare you push me!" He glared at Little Ying Yungui angrily, using the last shred of his rationality to restrain himself from attacking. After all, everyone knew that not just anyone could attend this banquet, so this kid must be a young master from some family.

Little Ying Yungui tilted his head back, gave him a disdainful glance, and said nothing. Following the light, the boy spotted the dazzling stud on his earlobe and froze for a moment. It was a one-of-a-kind earring, discussed countless times on the psychic forums, for it had been specially crafted by the association for a genius.

"You...you are Ying Yungui?" Some spectators around also recognized him, and the crowd suddenly became lively.

Little Ying Yungui was very satisfied with this reaction. He said "hmm" and crossed his arms maturely: "I know you too. You are the famous impotent young master of the Ryan family. You should take good care of yourself." A girl in the crowd couldn't help laughing when she heard this.

No matter what, the boy was just a young man under 20 years old. His face suddenly turned red and white, and he said angrily, "You little bastard, how dare you scold me!" He shouted and was about to rush up to attack.

Little Ying Yungui didn't dodge or evade, only to let out a soft snort. The boy paused for a moment before flying backwards, only to be scooped up into someone's arms just before hitting the wall. The man protecting him was a refined and mature man, his deep purple eyes gazing at Little Ying Yungui with a hint of reproach: "Nonsense! What kind of occasion is this? You have no manners."

"Father, he was the first to attack." Little Ying Yungui said unconvincedly, "If you don't believe me, you can ask the person next to me..." As he said this, he remembered that he didn't know the name of the person he saved, so he turned to Red and asked, "Hey, what's your name?"

But Red was already standing there stupidly, not responding no matter how he called out. Because he was in empathy, Ying Yungui could clearly sense that he was too scared to activate this self-protection mechanism - he was afraid that the turmoil he had caused would be known to Noah.

Reid was afraid, while Ying Yungui was sad. He had never expected that seeing Ying Xiangze again after so many years would be in such a situation, through someone else's eyes and body.

He stared at the young Ying Xiangze without blinking, knowing that every glance would be one less.

Red's lack of response caused dissatisfaction in little Ying Yungui, who pushed him twice: "Hey! Speak! I know you are not mute." Ying Xiang comforted the boy, politely dispersed the onlookers, and sent the other children back to their families before returning to little Ying Yungui and Red.

"Yun Gui, even if they were unreasonable just now and you bravely stood up for what was right, what about now? Do you think that your behavior of forcing him is any better than others?" Ying Xiangze was strict but always reasonable, and he was not a parent who would beat or scold his children at every turn. Therefore, when Ying Yun Gui was a child, he was very willing to listen to him and even began to reflect on himself.

The result of his final reflection was that he stood on tiptoe and twisted Red's shoulders to make him look down at him, then said in a pretentious tone: "I don't care what your name is, but listen to me, everyone in the world has the right to speak. It has nothing to do with whether your voice is nice or whether you stutter when you speak."

Hearing this, Red finally reacted, his eyes trembling slightly. After a while, he looked at Xiao Yingyungui's back as he left and said softly, "My name is Red."

Little Ying Yungui appeared in the following several empathic memories. There were those in which his talent was widely discussed and aroused heated discussions in the supernatural world; there were those in which he began to accept tasks and performed well and was reported in the supernatural circle daily; and there were also those in which his father Ying Xiang was flattered by the decision-making group and praised for his good parenting.

In short, ever since he was rescued at that banquet, Reid's eyes have always been on Ying Yungui. Even though he has never met Ying Yungui in person again, he has always been following the "Young Master of the Ying Family" as people call him.

......

The empathic memory kept changing, and for a long time afterwards, all Ying Yungui felt was pain.

When Red grew up, he would be beaten all over by Noah for various reasons every now and then. He would often stay in the solitary confinement room for several days. No one brought him medicine. He could only rely on a little food and willpower to survive. When he was released, he would hide and secretly heal his wounds. In the end, he would often be beaten again as a vent for his anger before his previous injuries were fully healed.

So Red always wears long sleeves and long pants, and the various scars on his body are shocking.

And in those moments of unbearable pain, the face that appeared in his mind was Ying Yungui's.

Noah's unprovoked malice and the cold stares of those around him made Red completely abandon his sense of and desire for family affection. He became a tool of the Ryan family, doing whatever he was asked to do. After all, there was no reward for doing well, and if he messed up, he would just be beaten and put in solitary confinement for three to five days.

He was used to it and even regarded the days in the solitary confinement room as a rare moment of peace and quiet.

Red originally thought that he would continue like that until one day he was beaten to death by his father. However, things took a turn for the better at the end of the new calendar year 172. The Maintenance Bureau declared war on the Association. Soon after, the Association began planning to form a team of all superpowered people to track down and capture the Maintenance Bureau.

The news of this matter became more and more dangerous among several families, so much so that Red's eldest brother refused to represent the younger generation of the family to join the Alpha team. Noah was angry at his lack of fighting spirit, but he really didn't want his eldest son to take any risks.

In the end, this thankless task, which they thought was difficult, fell on Red's head.

That was the second time in Reid's life that he came face to face with Ying Yungui.

The grown-up Ying Yungui was tall and handsome, his features still shrouded in the arrogance of a genius. On the day the Alpha team was divided into teams, he raised an eyebrow at Red on the sunset beach, and the first thing he said was, "Aren't you feeling hot dressed like this?"

Red knew he didn't remember him, but he still held on to a last glimmer of hope and whispered, "Hello, my name is Red Ryan." Unsurprisingly, his voice caused the other man to frown. "Ryan family? Then your ability is a curse. From now on, you'd better not speak unless it's necessary. I'm not used to it."

Red was delighted to see Ying Yungui again. Initially, he'd thought this was what others called "friends" and "comradeship," believing he wanted to be close friends with Ying Yungui, sharing everything. However, when he witnessed Ying Yungui, disguised as a man, care for, love, and stand up for a strikingly beautiful man in Area 5's "Bal" realm, he felt a pang of pain for the first time.

He intuitively felt that it was not the feeling of friendship, but something else.

Later, he heard from Kulin that many people had sent love letters to Ying Yungui. At that moment, his vague understanding of emotion gradually began to become clear. So this was love.

Team Alpha didn't survive. Ying Yungui soon returned to Area 8, and Red returned to his old life. But instead of calmly awaiting death, he began to prioritize developing his abilities. While he still frequently received family canings, his time in solitary confinement was much less frequent than before. What remained constant was the constant presence of Ying Yungui's face in his mind.

He thought, "If I could be stronger, maybe I could see him more often in the future and help him more. Would he remember me then, or even have a little fondness for me?"

This thought took root in his heart, slowly sprouted, and finally became a demon in his heart.

In empathy, Ying Yungui felt a little regretful. He wanted to take back what he had said before, "If he really knew what love was." If there was still a chance, he wanted to apologize to Reid in person.

The moment this thought occurred to him, he was forcibly dragged into a gray sea of consciousness. It was Red's sea of consciousness. Red was standing in front of him, extending his hand towards him: "Hello, I'm Red Ryan."

After a few seconds of silence, Ying Yungui held the hand: "Hello, Ying Yungui." Reid quickly let go of his hand, smiled at him and said, "After all these years, I probably haven't formally thanked you. Thank you for helping me out back then, and thank you for telling me that everyone has the right to speak." Then he pursed his lips and said, "Thank you also for teaching me how to distinguish different emotions."

"I haven't seen much of your past, but I can tell you like that guy very much. You only like him." A hint of despair flashed across Reid's eyes. "To be honest, I envy him. My intuition tells me he must be a very good person, just like you."

Ying Yungui felt a tingling sensation in his chest, and hesitated whether to tell him some truths, some truths about himself.

Unexpectedly, Red spoke so easily, "From the moment I first realized I might like you, I unconsciously hypnotized and paralyzed myself, pretending to have forgotten even the initial memory." He twitched his lips in self-mockery, "You've always been so proud. No matter how much you've experienced, your nature remains the same. How could you always inadvertently reveal that expression of pity for others?"

Save him from being bruised and battered, leave a way out for the researchers involved in the super evolution experiment, and try to stop and comfort him from going crazy and harming himself...

Reid's eyes were slightly red, and he looked at Ying Yungui with a firmness he had never had before: "The person you like is really good. He deserves it and is worthy of it." The second half of the sentence that was not said out loud was - he really likes you, so even when he is playing you, he unconsciously becomes a good person.

The fog was thick, and before Ying Yungui left his sea of consciousness, he heard a very soft voice: "Goodbye."

Ying Yungui opened his eyes, sweat dripping all over his body. He had come out of the empathy. Shi Youchen gently stroked his back: "Breathe slowly, don't rush."

Suddenly realizing that Ryan's seat was empty, Ying Yungui asked anxiously, "Where's Ryan? How did the empathy result go?"

Shi Youchen calmed him down and nodded, saying, "It went very smoothly. The reverse empathy was successful. He woke up before you and has already entered the tower."

Ying Yungui was delighted - that meant that Ryan had successfully initiated his spiritual awakening.
