Task One

Task One

The sun sets, the night deepens, and the lights come on. On a street in City Z, the door of a bar on the corner looks a little dim. There are no signs or other decorations. It is deserted, as if it has not yet opened.

On the bar's basement floor, Liu Chen sat slumped on the dark red leather sofa in the center. His left arm was wrapped around a woman with long, curly hair and red lips. In his right hand, he held a glass of red wine, taking a sip. A tower of wine sat on the counter. The woman coquettishly snuggled in his arms, the scent of her makeup filling his nostrils.

But he paid no attention to any of this. His gaze was fixed on the back of the black-haired man who had just left, and he licked his lips. The waist squeezed by the vest could be encircled with one hand. The legs were straight, and the trouser legs seemed a little short, occasionally revealing slender ankles, which made his lower abdomen warm.

"Mr. Liu, have a drink with me~" The sweet voice of the girl in his arms aroused his desire, and the lust in his eyes could not be concealed. He tightened his left arm without even looking at her, pulled the girl into his arms, turned his head and kissed her on the face with a "bo" sound, then let go, put down the wine glass, stood up, and said to the people around him with a little apology: "Sorry, guys, I'm going to the bathroom, you guys play first." After that, he hurried away without caring about the reaction of his friends.

Ying Yungui lay with his legs spread out in the outermost compartment on the third staircase, taking in the entire situation in the central circle. The Public Security Bureau's operatives had already dispersed to various areas on the basement level, and the few bar staff scattered across the ground floor had also been apprehended. Now it all depended on how the situation developed. If it was as the report claimed, they would undoubtedly be able to catch the tortoise in the jar.

However, Shi Youchen had been constantly moving between the booths since a while ago, drawing more and more attention. Now he was gone again. Ying Yungui felt a sudden surge of irritability and decided he needed to get some fresh air.

......

Shi Youchen placed the tray back on the bar and headed for the restroom, head bowed. He could feel the gazes piercing him, as if trying to rip him from his shell. Even worse, someone had just touched his hand while he was putting down his drink, and someone else had bumped into his lower back while squeezing by.

He let out a breath, and hurried away from the brightly lit area, unable to bear it any longer, wanting to wash his face to stay sober.

Perhaps the lights were too dazzling, or the music was too loud, but he actually felt a little dizzy. Fortunately, he still remembered that there was a more secluded restroom on the map he had been given earlier, and there would definitely not be many people there.

After turning two corners and walking forward for about two minutes, Shi Youchen finally saw the "Restroom" sign hanging in front of him. He gently pushed open the door on the left and just as he took a step inside, he heard an unbearable groan.

Even without any emotional experience, as an adult, it wasn't difficult for him to guess the source of the sound. He froze in place, unable to move forward or backward. Suddenly, another soft gasp, "Ah..." pierced his eardrums. This was clearly a man's voice!

Shi Youchen's eyes widened, and even the mole on his right eyebrow twitched. He looked up at the sign in disbelief. It was "Male," indeed. This meant there were indeed two men inside...

The innocent 21-year-old boy suddenly felt his ears burning. He had no intention of disturbing anyone, having come here simply for some peace and quiet. In this situation, between pretending he hadn't heard and continuing on his own, or pretending he had never been there and quietly leaving, he chose the latter without hesitation. He couldn't hide his true intentions.

So he turned around on the spot, and before he could take a step, he bumped into someone's chest.

This was the second time he'd been caught completely off guard by what was happening behind him. Shi Youchen's first reaction was self-reflection. Without even looking up, he whispered a quick, low "Sorry," and made to sidestep out the door.

Unexpectedly, the man blocked the exit with his hand and said with a drunken breath, "Don't be in a hurry to leave, beautiful girl~"

Shi Youchen then frowned and looked up at the drunkard. He had a dark brown perm, the standard hairstyle for modern scumbags, and was wearing a suit that looked expensive. His facial expression was unclear, and he reeked of alcohol. He looked like trouble at first glance.

Shi Youchen took a step back, distanced himself from the other person, and spoke as calmly as possible: "I'm sorry, sir, you got the wrong person. I'm the waiter here." Liu Chen chuckled lewdly: "No, I've been looking for you for a while~"

At this time, a clanging sound came from the partition inside. Liu Chen narrowed his eyes, whistled, and took a step forward: "Don't you know the rules here, little beauty? Why are you disturbing others doing good things?" He raised his hand and grabbed Shi Youchen, mumbling: "Or did you deliberately lure me here~"

Shi Youchen was debating whether to punch him and run, or send a message using his wristband to call for help. Then, thinking it would be embarrassing to send a message about this, he took a half step back and raised his right hand, ready to teach this idiot a lesson. Suddenly, a hand grabbed Liu Chen's left arm, yanked him back, and a strong, long arm fell over his shoulder.

"You seem so interested, can I join in?" The deep voice beside his ear was so intimidating that it made Liu Chen shudder, and even his drunkenness dissipated a little.

Shi Youchen still held his right hand raised and clenched into a fist, watching the scene unfold before him. Ying Yungui draped his entire right arm over Liu Chen's shoulder, leaning forward and forcing him to bend down. His expression was dark, and his tone was clearly displeased.

The oppressive feeling made Liu Chen break out in a cold sweat on his back. He spoke incoherently, "I...I took the wrong...way!" Then he bent down, and because the angle was too low, it looked like he was bowing to Shi Youchen inside. Then he shrank back, slipped out from under Ying Yungui's arm, and ran away.

Ying Yungui did not stop him. He ignored the background noise of "bang bang" and the harsh breathing, stared at Shi Youchen and whispered, "Your performance is really surprising because you left your post without permission and were not alert enough." His tone was sarcastic and unpleasant.

But Shi Youchen didn't want to argue with him, so he didn't plan to explain the reason. He turned around and turned on the faucet to wash his face. The cold water slightly extinguished the irritability in his heart. He wiped his face with his right hand and brushed back the wet hair, revealing the mole.

He looked at Ying Yungui through the mirror and saw that his brows were furrowed, his mouth tense, as if he were clenching his teeth. Two buttons were undone at the collar of his shirt, and his neck was red. He didn't look well. So Shi Youchen said, "You'd better wash your face and calm down." Don't let it affect the mission. He didn't say the second half of the sentence out of consideration for the surrounding environment.

Ying Yungui glanced at the mole above his eyebrow and sneered, "No need, let's go back." Then he strode back to where he came from, thinking to himself, "Why is this beauty's voice useless? It makes me even more irritated."

As the two were on their way back to the main venue, a message came over the intercom headset: "Deployment complete. Suspected mission target detected. Coordinates: Box 003, 2nd Floor, Level -1. All personnel on standby."

In box 003.

The man in sunglasses lit a cigarette and raised his chin to the little boy beside him. The boy immediately walked over to the man opposite, knelt down, straightened his upper body, carefully lit the cigarette for him, and then put his face on his thigh, as obedient and docile as a pet. The wealthy man reached out and stroked the boy's head, saying to the man in sunglasses with satisfaction, "Then it's settled."

All members of the Public Security Bureau who participated in the operation were on high alert, staring vigilantly at the door of box 003.

The door opened, and the first to come out were seven or eight bodyguards in plain clothes. They did not look out of place in the noisy bar. Then came out a short and fat man. He was well-dressed, but the smile on his lips made people feel greasy and disgusting.

The short, stout man walked among the bodyguards. The door to the private room closed behind him. An instruction came from the intercom headset: "Stay where you are. As soon as the person descends the stairs and approaches the door, arrest them immediately."

The three members of the association were only responsible for controlling the situation and did not need to take action to subdue the target, so they were all leaning against the wall on the periphery at the moment.

Lu Quezhi rubbed against Shi Youchen and twisted the hem of his clothes with his hands. The bright silver motorcycle jacket on him didn't fit him well, and he had difficulty breathing in the semi-enclosed environment: "Shi Youchen, where did you go just now? I've been looking for you for a long time." His tone was full of worry.

Shi Youchen noticed his discomfort and gently comforted him, "I went to the bathroom. Wait a moment, the mission will be over soon."

The group went down the stairs, and just as the short and fat man withdrew his right foot from the last step, the order came: "Go!"

"Ah!!!!!" The one who screamed was the girl who was next to Liu Chen before. At this moment, she collapsed to the ground, trembling all over, with dilated pupils, and she looked like she had suffered a huge mental shock.

“Ah——someone’s dead!!!” The crowd in the bar exploded again. The screams and roars that came one after another attracted everyone’s attention. The crowd gathered and dispersed, and the scene was complicated.

After receiving the order, everyone in the action team prepared to go towards the door, and their hands started to move. At this moment, their state was very different from those who came here to have fun, and the bodyguards and the man saw it, and they immediately realized that something was wrong.

The group was indeed well-trained, and they immediately protected the man in the middle and tried to get out. However, the scene inside the bar inspired the men and women to shove and flee frantically. The door was crowded with people, and even the bodyguards, who were all strong and sturdy, had difficulty clearing a path.

The scene was extremely chaotic, blurring the vision of the action team. The crowd was so crowded that they couldn't join in, so the team leader had no choice but to give the order: "Prioritize your own safety!"

Shi Youchen watched as everyone in the bar rushed outside. Instead, he leaned against the wall and moved sideways, inch by inch, towards the source of the chaos - the center dance floor.

A man lay on the center dance floor, his expensive suit stomped on by the crowd, leaving dirty footprints everywhere. His eyes were wide open, his mouth open, his chest soaked with blood, and a large pool of blood had formed beneath him, reflecting the passing of life under the flickering lights.

The girl had already fallen to her knees, crawling to the corner of the dance floor. A ten-centimeter fruit knife lay beside her, the blade and her upper body covered in blood. She clutched her head like a madman, screaming, "No, no! Let me go! You forced me to do this! You forced me to do this! No!!!"

At this point, some people had already squeezed out of the main entrance. The short, fat man, surrounded by bodyguards, was only two or three steps away from the door. There was only one staircase leading to the ground floor, which was already crowded with people. The noise and chaos made it impossible to arrest him.

"Damn it! There's no one outside! Shit!" The team leader couldn't help but curse. If someone got out of this door, there would be no chance again. The operation team had limited manpower, and considering that the other party might be large, they only made internal arrangements. There was no one guarding the store outside, which was really a helpless move.

Seeing that the man was only one step away from the door, he was already ecstatic at having survived the disaster, and his fat body was trying hard to squeeze forward.

Suddenly, he felt his body lighten, and the people and objects within his sight shifted. It took him a moment to realize that it was he himself who was moving.

From an outsider's perspective, the man and his bodyguards actually floated up and hung in mid-air, like jellyfish in a box, still flapping their arms and legs trying to swim out the door.

The team leader also saw this scene, and suddenly remembered that the director had quietly told him before issuing the mission order that this operation had requested the assistance of the Superpower Management Association, and the three people sent were all superpowered. However, for the sake of order and stability, the information of the superpowered people could not be disclosed to the outside world.

He looked inside hurriedly and saw the man.

Ying Yungui kept his eyes fixed on the situation of the mission target from beginning to end. He naturally saw that the man was getting closer and closer to escape, and he also saw the joy on his face growing deeper and deeper.

But he would wait until the man was only one step away from escaping, and then crush all his hopes.

At this moment, Ying Yungui's right palm was stroking the wall, while his left hand was leisurely holding the wine glass. He saluted the man from a distance, then raised his head and drank it all in one gulp.

He retracted his right hand, extended his middle finger, and pointed at a small empty space near the field. The group of people suspended in the air fell to the ground with a "thud". The action team immediately surrounded them.

Shi Youchen was in the innermost room examining the body. It was Liu Chen who died. The knife wound on his heart made it easy to guess the cause of death. The woman in the corner also had an expression on her face that said, "I am the murderer."
