Chapter 5 Thank you for having a conscience!
The rain was heavy and fast, and it hurt when it hit my body. Fortunately, the rain stopped not long after I walked forward in the rain. And then, just as Cheng Weiyao had expected, the cave collapsed.
The youngest, Wen Chengming, was held in the front by Wen Liyu. The imperial concubine was in poor health due to long days of traveling, so Cheng Weiyao supported her. As for Wen Chengyun, he was supposed to be at the back, but the official did something evil again and dragged him to the front of the group.
The crumbling rocks rolled behind, accompanied by the sound of mud and sand rubbing against each other under the impact of rain. The cave that once provided shelter from the rain now turned into a ferocious beast with a bloody mouth, ready to eat people.
"No, no, I really can't walk anymore..."
After taking only a few steps, the imperial concubine was out of breath and tried to push Cheng Weiyao away.
Cheng Weiyao, who had held up her sleeves to shield her from the rain, gritted her teeth in anger when she heard this, "Mother, hold on a little longer. We have to hurry!"
The imperial concubine shook her head repeatedly.
Suddenly she felt her body being pulled, but it was only for a moment, and she was pushed back to the high ground in front.
"Wei Yao!"
It must be an illusion. Why would Wen Chengyun call her?
Cheng Weiyao only felt that her eyes went dark, and the ground beneath her feet began to loosen and sink. At the critical moment, she could only focus on pushing away the imperial concubine in front of her, and then instinctively grabbed the vines in front of her.
The rain made it almost impossible for her to open her eyes, and the only sound she could hear was her own breathing. She only felt that when she was about to be drowned, someone grabbed her tightly and brought her out.
"Wake up, are you okay?" In her hazy vision, it was Wen Chengyun. When she thought she was about to ascend to heaven, he held her face and patted it with a worried look on his face.
"I'm going to faint from shock." Cheng Weiyao spoke the truth, taking a hard breath, pushing him away, shaking all over, and standing up shakily, "He's fine, he can still go on, hurry up and follow him."
The next second, she felt dizzy and found herself lying on a broad shoulder. Wen Chengyun carried her on his back without saying a word.
For a moment, she didn't ask about the bloody scratch on his hand, and he didn't ask about the scrape on her knee.
The two of them hurried to catch up with the main group.
During the break, Wen Chengyun's eyes couldn't help but fall on the girl who was sleeping with her eyes closed against the stone.
The girl's brows were relaxed with a look of joy, and the reappearing sunlight seemed to favor her a little, falling lightly on her forehead, creating a beautiful halo.
The eldest daughter of the Cheng family is a stay-at-home girl who has never been involved in housework. She hasn't complained or sighed about being tired in the past few days, which can still be understood as a sign of strong character. However, when it comes to taking care of things and teaching her mother, she seems a little slick in the ways of the world.
The most surprising thing is that her lively and strong personality is nothing like the gentle and virtuous person she is rumored to be, and she can even predict landslides.
Wen Chengyun frowned and fell into deep thought.
Cheng Weiyao, on the other hand, clenched her fists in excitement because she discovered that her space seemed to have been upgraded again! The points kept rising, and although they finally stabilized at a certain value, it was certain that her space was almost equal to Wen Chengyun's.
It also shows that the conversion of points from contact with Wen Chengyun is limited. If you want to get more points, you have to cling to Wen Chengyun tightly.
There is really a long way to go. Cheng Weiyao was depressed, but another discovery instantly dispelled her depression. The sweet potato mushrooms she planted in the space field were harvested in about ten minutes.
Just as she was lost in thought, she didn't expect Wen Chengyun to be standing in front of her.
When their eyes met, she blinked confusedly at first, then suddenly woke up in fright!
Cheng Weiyao was frightened for a moment, then she realized that Wen Chengyun was just blocking the setting sun from her face, and she had overreacted.
Cheng Weiyao, feeling extremely embarrassed, rubbed her nose and said, "I'll go find something to eat."
Perhaps it was due to the times, these officials were not very strict with the female relatives. They probably thought that a woman would not be able to survive if she ran away, so they did not care. So Cheng Weiyao happily went to "find" food.
Standing at the edge of a deserted, desolate cliff, Cheng Weiyao was about to take out some sweet potatoes. "You bitch!" Before she could even turn around, she noticed someone lunging at her from behind. She dodged to the side and saw the person throw themselves off the cliff.
Wait! Isn't that Wen Liyu?
Cheng Weiyao almost subconsciously rushed over and grabbed her ankle, and it took a lot of effort to pull her up.
"How dare you, you vicious woman, you actually want to push me off the cliff!" Wen Liyu's eyes were filled with tears. She pointed at Cheng Weiyao in panic and was about to pounce on her to hit her.
Cheng Weiyao was immediately confused. Did they get the script wrong?
Almost at the same time, Wen Chengyun's cold voice came from behind, "Ayu, come here."
I don’t know how much Wen Chengyun saw and heard. Judging from his current appearance, he probably only heard the last few words of Wen Liyu.
"No, my husband, I didn't push her!"
On one side is his own sister, and on the other side is his wife who was married to him in a formal ceremony. He was caught in a dilemma. Cheng Weiyao looked at Wen Chengyun's wrinkles and felt her heart hanging in the air.
"It's getting dark. If everyone is alright, go back quickly."
Shit! Cheng Weiyao looked up at the sky speechlessly. After waiting for so long, you finally settled the matter. She glanced at the unwilling Wen Liyu and shook her head. "You guys go first. I want to find something to eat."
After the two left, Cheng Wei Yao stood for a while before going down the mountain.
"You really left as soon as you said you would!" Cheng Weiyao angrily threw the stone in her hand out, as if this would hit Wen Chengyun, and Cheng Weiyao felt a little relieved.
The stone fell into the bushes, which began to shake, scaring Cheng Weiyao.
"who!"
After the rustling sound, there was the grunting sound of a wild boar. A wild boar with a green face and fangs came out from the dead bushes. Cheng Weiyao immediately jumped onto a stone and stood there.
But this action seemed to anger it, and it rushed towards her with its fangs raised.
"Damn it! I can't even take out the sword in the space at the critical moment..." As death approached, Cheng Weiyao's eyes rarely turned red.
When the wild boar was about to jump over, she jumped off the stone and rolled to the side, but she fell and couldn't get up.
“Knock, knock, knock…”
God is really going to kill me!
But after waiting for a long time, he only heard the scream of a wild boar. When he turned around, he saw Wen Chengyun fighting with the wild boar, which still had a little strength left.
"What? You can't even stand up?" The man looked at her with a frown, his hands stained with blood.
The girl's eyes were red and tears welled up. Upon hearing this, she turned around and buried herself in her arms, shook her head, took a deep breath, and choked out, "Thank you for having a conscience!"
