Chapter 186 I Miss You So Much

I had a good night's sleep.

As dawn broke, a faint aroma of pancakes wafted through the air. Ye Li opened her eyes and looked at the familiar bed and the familiar room, instantly feeling as if she had returned to the past.

Without even bothering to wash up, Ye Li rushed out of the room, then stood there dejectedly by the railing.

The TV in the living room is off.

My dad, who should have been sitting on the sofa watching the morning news, wasn't there either.

Home is still home.

But she can never go back to the past, never go back to the home where her father is still alive.

It took Ye Li a while to come to her senses. She turned around and went back to her room. After washing up and changing her clothes, she went downstairs to have breakfast with Li Xueqing and Aunt Lan.

After breakfast, the Ye family's driver arrived, and Ye Li waved goodbye to the two and returned to school.

The end of the semester officially begins on Monday.

The entire campus seemed to have entered a silent mode. Teachers and students were hurrying around everywhere, and even the students reciting their texts in the English corner dared not make a sound, reciting in hushed tones.

Restaurants everywhere were much quieter.

By Wednesday, after the exams were over, everyone, whether they had done well or not, looked cheerful and happy.

When you run into acquaintances on the street, the first thing they ask is, "Where are you planning to go for your holiday?"

When Ye Li returned to dormitory room 520, Lu Xiaoxiao was doing a thorough cleaning.

Seeing Ye Li roll up her sleeves, ready to join in, Lu Xiaoxiao hurriedly stopped her, "You should go home quickly, I can do it, I'm just sitting here doing nothing anyway."

Ye Li was taken aback. "Aren't you going home?"

Lu Xiaoxiao shook her head, "Yun Kai and I agreed to go back every two years. We went back last Spring Festival, but we won't go back this year, so we each took on several tutoring jobs during the winter break."

Summer and winter vacations are a great opportunity for junior and senior high school students to get ahead. Wealthy families hire top tutors for one-on-one intensive tutoring, while ordinary families hire outstanding college students.

Academic superstars like Lu Xiaoxiao and Xie Yunkai are the most sought-after.

After working part-time for more than two years, the two have a stable client base. Every year before the winter and summer vacations, they are all called to schedule appointments.

"Well, you don't need to have extra classes on New Year's Eve, right? I'll call you then, and you and Xie Yunkai can come to my house for New Year's Eve dinner."

Just by looking at Lu Xiaoxiao's expression, you could tell what she was going to say. Ye Li put her hands on her hips, her young lady aura perfectly controlled, "No refusing! Otherwise, we're just fake besties!"

"good……"

Lu Xiaoxiao nodded with a smile, "Thank you, Pear!"

Her phone beeped. Glancing at the screen, Ye Li waved to Lu Xiaoxiao, "My boyfriend's here to pick me up, so I'll be going now. Eat what's in the fridge as soon as possible, and feel free to wear whatever clothes are in my closet... Contact me on WeChat if you need anything!"

Before the words were even finished, the person had already disappeared into the elevator.

Lu Xiaoxiao closed the door with a bright smile and continued mopping the floor.

Ye Li ran out of the school gate and immediately saw the Maybach parked on the side of the road.

Fearing that his first words would be "Ah Li, do you miss me?", Ye Li decided to strike first.

Ye Li opened the passenger door and got into the car, her smile bright. "Fu Yanci, I missed you so much."

The man paused for a moment, a smile creeping into his eyes.

“Ah Li…”

He leaned over to fasten the girl's seatbelt, and didn't forget to steal a kiss on her lips.

Fu Yanci smiled and said, "It's too late to start thinking about this now!"

For four whole days, from Sunday to Wednesday, he didn't call or send WeChat messages so as not to disturb her studying.

She's fine, though.

I didn't call him even once, nor did I send him a single WeChat message.

Therefore, he asked Gu Lanting how often he should contact Tan Ningyan when he was too busy to think about it.

Several days have passed, but Fu Yanci still remembers Gu Lanting's furious response.
