"Little Dragon, even if you don't eat, you still have to come to the new dorm with us!"
Zhao Xi squatted at the cave entrance, holding a food box, trying to lure the monster cub out. She was wearing an oversized orange-red wide-sleeved ruqun (a type of traditional Chinese dress), and squatting like that, she looked like a brightly colored great tit.
She hadn't found suitable clothes yet; she had been suddenly summoned to the Celestial Beast Garden a day ago.
She is an internationally renowned chef. Little Fairy said she was a person of destiny who was able to lead this monster kindergarten to resist attacks from foreign enemies and get back on track. She cooks for the cubs and plays with them every day.
The animal park had just been ransacked; the entire hilltop was in ruins, with black smoke billowing from it. The surviving cubs were crammed into makeshift shacks, filthy and emaciated.
She loves animals and couldn't bear to leave, so she agreed to stay and help them.
The black water dragon cub was more seriously injured, yet it stayed in the cave for two whole days and refused to come out.
"Hmph~ Don't disturb my sleep!"
A childish roar came from inside the cave, mixed with a wave of heat from the dragon's flames, which ruffled Zhao Xixiang's bangs.
But his roar was much weaker than the one I heard yesterday.
No, if this continues, no one knows whether the little dragon will be seriously injured and die.
Moreover, the enemy sect members might return, so she had to find a way to move the dragon cub and the other cubs to the newly built dormitory, where the defensive formations were more complete.
In front of the cave, purple vines conjured by magic wriggled and patrolled the ground, like the tentacles of a sea monster, twisting and knotting, giving off an eerie feeling.
but……
Recalling her dream from last night, Zhao Xi took a deep breath, lifted her long skirt, and carefully stepped on it with her toes.
The green vines sensed her presence and with two quick swift movements, retreated to the side, making way for her.
Zhao Xi narrowed her eyes in surprise, a strange look appearing on her face. She wanted to lift her foot to test the vine again, but then withdrew it: "Never mind, I'll think about that later. The most important thing right now is to get this guy out of here."
She picked up the food box and walked into the cave.
"Sister Mortal, don't go in! Hoshino has such a terrible temper, he'll burn you to death with dragon flames!"
"Don't go, mortal sister! The earth goddess has laid vines; you'll get tied up!"
"If my sister gets burned to death, who will cook delicious food for us?"
"Awoo~ Awoo~"
"Chirp chirp chirp~"
Seven little cubs came running from the outdoor dining table behind, shouting loudly.
The vines at the cave entrance quickly climbed over, weaving a green net that kept them outside.
They were jumping around in a hurry, chattering excitedly.
The three are Firelight Beast cubs, whose original form is not much different from a guinea pig, with small flames burning on their red tails.
The two are baby crows, one of which is a mixed breed and is smaller.
One is a pangolin spirit that can curl its body into a ball, and the other is a puppy that keeps howling.
She had only cooked for these little ones for a day, and they cared for her, a mere mortal, so much.
Zhao Xi felt a warmth in her heart. Standing behind the vine netting, she waved to shoo them back to the outdoor dining table: "I'll be fine. You guys go eat. I'll be out soon."
Of these seven cubs, some are still in their infancy, while the two most mature have formed their demon cores and can speak human language.
However, the remaining few have the intelligence of only one or two years old, and clearly have animalistic forms, requiring older children to take care of them.
After being robbed several times, the animals became much more obedient and returned to eating at the low outdoor tables.
Only then did she feel relieved and, carrying the food box, continue deeper into the natural cave.
Scattered on the rock face are spirit stones, emitting a faint glow.
The passageway was rugged and narrow, with shimmering pools of water in the low-lying areas, and occasionally the sound of dripping water could be heard.
For the past few days, the cubs have been living in this cave, living like wild beasts, eating raw meat and drinking blood.
The dragon cub is a loner and occupies a cave all by itself.
As she approached, the dragon cub's breathing at the end of the cave became increasingly distinct.
Like a patient with a fever, he was breathing heavily.
"Hoshino, are you awake?" Zhao Xi tried to call out softly.
She walked around a large, protruding rock and saw the dragon cub curled up on a tattered futon.
Blackwater Dragon Cub is a divine-level spirit beast. While most spirit pets need to cultivate to transform into human form, the dragon cub can do so naturally.
This creature, named Hoshino, maintains the body of a three-year-old human boy. It has two sharp black horns on its head, a dragon tail behind its open-crotch pants, and two chubby black dragon claws at the front of its little arms.
The faint fluorescence of the spirit stone ore shone on Hoshino's rosy cheeks.
He opened his small mouth, breathing heavily, tears welling in the corners of his eyes, his long eyelashes rising and falling with each breath.
His tattered, coarse cloth clothes were covered in crisscrossing tears stained with dried, dark red blood. Some wounds hadn't healed yet, and were oozing blood after festering. The worst were the scales on his wrists and ankles, large chunks of which had been scraped off.
It's shocking to see so many wounds on such a small body!
Zhao Xi gasped, put down the food box, took out a bottle of healing medicine, knelt down beside the prayer mat, and carefully sprinkled it on the wound on her wrist.
This black water dragon is a treasure from head to toe. Its horns and scales can be used to forge weapons, its blood can be used to draw talismans, and its bones and skin can be used to refine pills. Even its excrement can be refined into some of the tonics that cultivators like!
But if they wait until they reach the Core Formation stage, their combat power will be so great that even the immortals of the Middle God Realm will be unable to capture them.
Therefore, many black water dragons suffer cruel fates in their juvenile stage.
The medicine was irritating. As soon as Zhao Xi applied it, the little dragon frowned and was immediately woken up by the pain.
