Chapter 221 Trapped at the Bottom of the Abyss

Aww—

Hehehe—

Rumble—

The rocks trembled, as if the entire abyss might collapse at any moment. Red magma surged and erupted from the cracks in the rocks, cooling and solidifying into a layer of gray rock upon hitting the ground.

The stone demons rushed in droves towards the large basin of meat soup rich in earth elemental energy. They had never seen anything so good; the aroma was comparable to a treasure of heaven and earth.

Glug glug glug—

The stone demon used a special method to inhale earth elemental energy into its body, and each small pebble seemed to melt and expand. Some pebbles absorbed the energy faster, growing several times larger, and with a thud, they fell from the stone demon's body, breaking into many smaller pebbles.

The number of stone goblins suddenly increased three or four times, crowding the caverns of this deep abyss volcano.

But their joy won't last long!

After the food was all taken, the stone demons had only taken a few steps when their bodies collapsed, scattering stones all over the ground, some shattering into dust.

It's sour!

Such beautiful and pure earthy energy was mixed with a strange acidity!

The stones on the stone golem's body scattered on the ground, struggling and rolling around, trying to vomit out the acidic part.

The intact stone demons sought new partners and soon gathered into large stone demons, but their population was half the original size.

This is truly a catastrophe!

hateful--

Who did this?

Capture them, kill them—

Rumble—

Vibrations continued to emanate from the bottom of the abyss volcano!

That was the boundless rage of the Stone Demon Clan!

*

The culprits bypassed them and gathered around Ling Mu.

"You're really lucky to be alive."

"..."

Ling Mu lay on the rock, the lava dripping from her body turning the stone red. She tilted her head back and drank the water that the little demon cultivators from the Hundred Beast Garden poured on her head.

I kept drinking, but I was still thirsty no matter how much I drank.

She's incredibly lucky!

She had just tried to take the stone demon down with her, but at the last second, the stone demon smelled the earth elemental energy and threw her back into the lava.

Lingmu was almost burned to ashes.

It was Shan Shan, who had a conflict with her, who used a lot of spiritual energy to turn into the wind and send Zhao Xixiang, Tong Yue, and Xiao Jia to her side.

Tongyue shot an arrow into the lava next to her, and the lava solidified into stone.

Xiao Jia pulled her out of the lava and poured water on her.

This water wasn't an ordinary spiritual spring; it seemed to be some kind of sweet sauce mixed with wound medicine. She was like a seedling that had been parched for a long time; her body temperature dropped drastically, and the burned areas on her body began to heal slowly.

Her voice was hoarse, and she couldn't express her gratitude. After regaining her mobility, she knelt on the ground and kowtowed to them.

Xiao Jia seemed to want to help, but took a step back and stood behind Zhao Xixiang and Tong Yue, turning his head to the side, indicating that he would let them do as they pleased.

Tong Yue was puzzled. "Why are you looking at me?" Then, a little annoyed, she pulled Zhao Xi and said, "Headmistress, let's go back quickly. Ku Ku's injuries are much more serious than hers!"

Zhao Xixiang said calmly, "Now that we've found it, let's go back quickly."

First, meet up with Shan Shan and Xiao Ding, then fly back to the temporary base together.

After flying for a while on their swords, everyone felt that the rocks in front of them looked familiar.

Xiao Ding scratched his head sheepishly: "Don't you guys think...?"

Shanshan: "We've encountered a ghost wall!!"

Xiao Jia: "It was the stone demon who did this!"

The lowest of monsters are subject to the control of heaven and earth.

The sunlight suddenly disappears, the river changes course, and vegetation is lost; they all face crisis and die in large numbers.

But powerful monsters have the ability to modify nature.

This stone demon was ugly in appearance but incredibly strong. Yet, it was clever enough to use the flow of lava to modify the environment and also knew to seek revenge on the person who made the sulfuric acid soup.

It's astonishing that a demon without spiritual roots could be this intelligent.

The monsters in this deep-sea volcano are truly amazing!

Xiao Jia: "What should we do? The way back is blocked, and Ku Ku is still at the base."

"Let me see if I can smash through this rock!" Xiao Ding was as strong as an ox, and as he spoke, he tried to transform into his giant dog form and launch a charging attack.

Xiao Jia looked around, dodging the rubble that Xiao Ding had knocked down, searching for a safe place to set up the array: "How about we set up a teleportation array here? I have enough arrays with me. But if the stone demon emerges from underground after we set up the array, all our efforts will be wasted."

Shanshan: "I'll use the wind to find a crack, and then use the principle of thermal expansion and contraction!"

Tongyue slowed down her sword speed, controlled the Xuanbing Bow and Arrow, and called out to Shanshan: "They waited for us to reunite, and even knew to block the rocks on our way back. Don't you think there's something wrong with that?"

Her words jolted everyone awake, and they all gathered around Tongyue.

The reason is simple: the headmistress is here.

But Zhao Xi leaned against Tong Yue's ice bow, gazing at the rocks with a slightly lost expression.

They looked at each other.

The headmistress hasn't been saying much lately.

Shanshan, with her keener observation, asked, "Is the headmistress feeling unwell? Is it too hot?"

"I'm not feeling unwell." Zhao Xi tried to sit up straight on the bow and arrow, forcing a smile. "I'm thinking about how to deal with the stone demon."

In fact, she felt a dull ache in her head after stepping out of the temporary stronghold's protective array.

This pain is the same as the feeling I had when I went to the Immortal Realm last time.

That wasn't enough; memories that didn't belong to her began to surface in her mind.

With mountains and sea, it was a landscape she had never seen before.

Those images flashed by, and she seemed to see Lin Che, Xingye, and many other great immortals she didn't recognize.

They played music on the mountaintop shrouded in mist, discussing the ultimate truths of the world and wondering why there was a sun, moon, and stars.

If it weren't for the headache caused by thinking about these images, Zhao Xi wouldn't be so listless.

Zhao Xi wanted to observe the surrounding volcanoes: "No method is as fast as having the stone demon clear a path for us."

Shanshan: "Here's the problem, how do we get the stone demon to clear the way for us?"

Zhao Xi pointed to the ground: "Lure the snake out of its hole."

They all exchanged glances and then, as if on cue, landed together.

The moment my foot touched the rock, a rumbling sound echoed from inside the mountain, as if a huge creature was moving swiftly through the rocks.

The group quickly mounted their swords and took to the air.

Almost at the same time, the rocks cracked, splintering out a lot of gravel and dust.

Amidst the billowing dust, a gigantic stone demon burst forth, flinging a severed arm toward them.

The stone goblin's arms transformed into small rolling stones in mid-air, carrying scalding lava, and roared as they charged toward them.

The lesser demon cultivators each displayed their unique abilities to dodge the stones.

Those rolling stones, however, were intelligent; they spun around and bounced against the stone wall, using their sharp edges to strike them.

Taking advantage of the situation, the giant stone demon waved its arms amidst the stone projectiles, launching repeated attacks on them.

Xiao Jia enhanced its scales with spiritual energy, forming a wall of spiritual energy that blocked Zhao Xi and Ling Mu: "We were careless! How can this stone demon be so strong?!"
