Chapter 52 The Former Face of a Young Man

As the flames swept past, the boy curled up into a ball, his entire body covered in scales, like a piece of metal rock.

He doesn't appear to be injured.

Hoshino jumped over and straddled him, then lowered her head and took a bite of the hard scales.

"bite--"

He covered his mouth tightly, tears welling up in his eyes.

Even after transforming, Blackwater Dragon's teeth remain sharp, so it doesn't even need to spit out bones when eating Suzaku's legs!

But now his teeth were hitting the hard, thick scales and almost broke; he was completely helpless against his brother.

"Cough cough cough!" The boy seemed to have been holding his breath. After being choked by the dragon flame, he curled up and coughed violently, but he never unfolded.

Hoshino realized that the dragon flame had worked on him, so he wagged his tail, let out a loud cheer, and proudly raised his little head: "I won!"

A boy's voice came from the curled-up body: "No, you didn't win."

Hoshino: "You can't beat me if you gang up on each other, but I can use Dragon Flame! I won!"

Boy: "Then throw up again!"

Hoshino lowered his head and breathed fire, one breath after another, but the boy didn't even flinch from the smoke. Instead, Hoshino himself overexhaled and saw stars.

The boy said, "I just choked on my own fire. I'm not afraid of your dragon flames. I'll jump out and beat you to a pulp when you're tired."

Hoshino let out an angry roar and clenched her little fists, tapping them on her scales.

"Hoshino! Get down! Who are you riding on?!"

The headmistress's voice came from behind.

Hoshino blinked her black pearl eyes, jumped off the boy who was curled up in a ball, rushed to the headmistress, and opened her arms for a hug.

But she was holding Shan Shan in her arms.

The usually optimistic and talkative Shan Shan was now sobbing uncontrollably. All the feathers on the back of her neck and bottom had been plucked out, leaving her exposed skin a bright red patch, which looked quite painful.

Hoshino grabbed his leg and forcefully pulled him down, wanting to jump into the principal's arms.

Zhao Xixiang took the opportunity to shove Shanshan into Xingye's arms, gave Xingye a light tap on the head, and walked forward: "Hello, this is the territory of the Hundred Beasts Garden. I am the gardener, Zhao Xixiang. What just happened was a misunderstanding. If the demon cultivator from my Hundred Beasts Garden offended you, I apologize on his behalf. May I ask who you are and why you are here?"

She had already heard the whole story from the Firelight Beast.

The fact that this little immortal didn't trigger the defensive array to dispel the alarm is enough to demonstrate his cultivation level.

Moreover, he mistakenly believed that Hoshino was bullying Shanshan, which is why he stepped in to help, so he must be a good person.

Zhao Xi's tone was both unfamiliar and distant. The boy's scales fell off, and he got up from the muddy ground. He was stunned for a moment, then returned the greeting with the etiquette of a cultivator. He then smiled and said, "Headmistress, it's me! I'm Xiao Jia!"

Before entering the inner demon trial, he was about six or seven years old, but now he is a boy of about ten years old, taller and his face has matured.

The only thing that hasn't changed is that wisp of curly bangs on his forehead.

Zhao Xi looked him over carefully from head to toe, and exclaimed in surprise, "You really are Xiao Jia?! You actually woke up?!"

The other children smelled the pangolin spirit's scent but didn't dare to approach to confirm. Only then did they understand why he had come to uphold justice for Shan Shan, and they swarmed around him, chattering away.

"Brother Jia is back!"

"Great! Brother Jia is awake! We can turn into human form now! We'll show you!"

With tears in her eyes, Meimei hugged Xiaojia and said, "I'm Meimei, and I can finally look like my old self again!"

It turns out that Xiao Jia already knew about Mei Mei's affair and had been helping him keep it a secret.

Sweet Potato: "Brother Xiaojia, I caught an ant king for you and I'm keeping it in the beast-taming enclosure. I'll treat you to ants when we get home!"

Zhao Xi thought: "..."

Is it because her cooking isn't good?

How about we make a dish called "Ants Climbing a Tree" using real ants?

Until Shan Shan cried out, "Brother Xiao Jia, Xing Ye plucked my feathers, I'm bald!"

Then he realized something was wrong, hid behind Xiao Jia, and looked at Zhao Xi with the eyes of someone who had done something wrong.

A moment later.

Under the eaves outside the canteen.

Xiaojia, Xingye, and Shanshan stood against the wall according to their height, each holding a large white radish in both hands, raising it above their heads.

Such behavior certainly warrants a moment of reflection.

Shanshan shouldn't have gone against Xiaoding's wishes by plucking his dog's fur, and Xingye shouldn't have plucked Shanshan's feathers to retaliate with violence.

Xiao Jia was punished because he got into a fight with Xingye outside without informing Zhao Xixiang.

Although Hoshino sensed his presence and guessed that Xiao Jia had successfully formed his core, he deliberately went to the forest to compete with him.

But what if they don't realize it and then kill you?

The little fairy once said that Xiao Jia is a pangolin spirit, and after forming his core, he can freely control his shapeshifting. If used properly, he can cover all exposed parts of his body with scales, making him impervious to ordinary magic.

Is the Blackwater Dragon's dragonfire a normal spell?

It's truly fortunate that Hoshino hasn't reached the Core Formation stage yet, and hasn't become as powerful as him.

Zhao Xi was filled with lingering fear and looked out the window.

Three pairs of small hands holding white radishes peeked out of the window; they weren't slacking off.

Little Ding was lying by the kitchen door.

The puppy whined and rubbed against her for a long time.

"Headmistress... Sister... Woof woof! Don't... punish them..." He still couldn't speak human language very well, and before he could finish a sentence, he stammered and added dog barks.

"Just make them stand as punishment to teach them a lesson," Zhao Xi thought as she deftly peeled a white radish.

The four seasons in the celestial realm are not very distinct. Clouds with gathered spiritual energy often appear in the sky. Perhaps some immortals are fighting and have summoned water spiritual energy, causing the temperature to change suddenly.
