Chapter 41 Going home shouldn’t be buried in the mud forever.
A figure suddenly rushed in from outside, it was Jie Lan.
He had clearly rushed back, beads of sweat still beading his forehead. He grabbed the cane Prince Yu had raised high. The young man was tall, a head taller than Prince Yu, and his strength was not to be underestimated.
Prince Yu tried to pull it free, but couldn't. He became even more furious: "Jie Lan! Do you know what you are doing? Are you trying to rebel?"
Jie Lan held on tightly, not letting go. Anger burned in his dark, forbearing eyes. He stared directly at Prince Yu, suppressing all his anger and irrationality. His voice was hoarse from the repression: "Male Father! You can't do this to Female Father and An Nuo again. The Ducas family came with me and are now outside."
"Would you like to see them?"
"Let go!" Prince Yu roared.
He was really annoyed that someone dared to threaten him with other things.
"It seems you want to see them. I'll go invite them now." Jie Lan did not give in and pretended to turn around and leave.
Jie Lan looked at his female father and younger brother, his heart aching.
"Good, very good! You three, mother and son, have united to rebel!" Prince Yu was so angry that he was shaking all over. He suddenly threw the cane in his hand to the ground, making a crisp sound.
He pointed at Quentin and An Nuo who were hugging each other, and then at Jie Lan who was standing in front of them. His chest heaved violently, but then he suddenly calmed down, his eyes frighteningly cold.
"Quentin, if you're not clear-headed, I have to remind you that your spiritual sea is already broken! Without my spiritual power to soothe you, how many days can you survive? Huh? When your spiritual sea completely collapses and you become a madman, the three of you will die together."
Quentin was already used to hearing these vicious and sarcastic remarks, and he wouldn't care even if they were even more unpleasant.
With Jie Lan's support, he slowly stood up. Although he was still thin and his cheek was injured, his back was straight. He gently pushed Jie Lan aside and took a step forward. Instead of the anger he had just shown, he looked at Prince Yu calmly.
"My children will be fine, getting better and better." Quentin's voice was surprisingly calm, yet sharp, like shattered glass. "Even if my spiritual sea collapses tomorrow, even if I die the next moment, it's my own choice. You don't need to worry about it, my lord."
Quentin glanced at the jade cane thrown on the ground. It had cracked due to the force used.
His gaze slowly shifted back to Prince Yu's face, and Quentin even raised a faint arc at the corner of his mouth. The wound on his face was still obviously red.
This look inexplicably made Prince Yu feel a little uneasy.
Quentin paused, each word clear. "Whether as Quentin of the Ducas family or as the sire of Jielan and Annuo, I will definitely survive. And it will be better than you can imagine."
These words made the entire living room eerily quiet. Was the lady going to completely break off relations with the head of the family?
Prince Yu's pupils suddenly shrank, and he looked at Quentin in front of him in disbelief.
He had never seen Quentin like this before. This feeling of being out of control made him feel unprecedented panic and violence.
Jie Lan stood beside Quentin, watching all this happen, clenching his fists tightly, his body trembling slightly with excitement and anger.
In the silent confrontation, the atmosphere was so tense that it seemed as if the oxygen in the air had been sucked out.
Finally, Prince Yu stared at Quentin with a sinister look in his eyes, and squeezed out a sentence from between his teeth: "Quentin Ducasse, you will regret what you said today."
"Get out of here now."
"roll!"
After saying this, with a violent rage that he hadn't been able to vent, he kicked over the antique vase next to him, and the sound of the expensive porcelain shattering was extremely piercing.
Without looking back at Quentin and the other two, he strode out of the living room.
It was not until Prince Yu's footsteps completely disappeared at the stairs that the suffocating feeling of oppression in the living room was slightly relieved.
Jie Lan immediately stepped forward to support Quentin and asked worriedly, "Father, are you okay?"
Quentin shook his head, stood up straight, raised his hand, and gently stroked his red, swollen and stinging cheek, but his eyes were unusually bright.
He lowered his head, looked at An Nuo who was still crying in fear, squatted down and picked him up.
"Annuo, don't be afraid," Quentin said in a very gentle voice, "Father-in-law is here. From now on, Father-in-law will protect you."
An Nuo raised his tearful little face, looked at his female father's eyes which were completely different from before, and nodded in confusion with some excitement.
Jie Lan walked to Quentin, stretched out his hand, hugged Quentin, and whispered: "Father, there is me."
Quentin raised his head and looked at his eldest son, who was now taller than him. A tear flashed in his eyes, but she quickly forced it back. She held Jie Lan's hand tightly.
"Yeah." He replied softly.
"Let's get out of here together."
The Ducasse family's estate appears tranquil and solemn in the night. The beautiful old buildings are surrounded by carefully tended flower fields, full of fairytale atmosphere.
The aircraft landed directly on the helipad in front of the main house.
The hatch opened and Quentin walked down holding An Nuo and Jie Lan.
The main house door was open, brightly lit. A female insect, with meticulously combed hair and a face somewhat similar to Quentin, but more majestic, was standing at the door. She had been waiting for a long time.
He is the current head of the Ducas family and Quentin's paternal father - Pro.
The Ducasse family was a large one, but Quentin's father and mother were a rare couple whose marriage was based on free love, and they only had one child, Quentin. Quentin's father had always been in poor health, and after his death a few years ago, the old duke did not give the family crest to his younger brothers, but instead gave it to his own daughter.
He was afraid that his queen and children would not have a good life after his death. In the period before his death, he had been paving the way for his queen, Pro, and handed all his confidants to Pro. He severely suppressed those people from Ducas's side branches who were ready to make moves and were eyeing them covetously.
Pro did not disappoint him. After he left, Pro managed everything well and the Ducas family became even more famous.
The only thing he hadn't done right was agreeing to the royal marriage. He had originally planned to find a commoner male insect to keep Quentin by his side.
But when the Insect Emperor ascended the throne, he immediately made Marshal Bai Ze his empress. Their love story was like a fairy tale. The Insect Emperor personally acted as matchmaker, and the Ducas family could not directly reject the Insect Emperor's wishes.
So when Prince Yu came to make a request, he mistakenly thought that Prince Yu, who was born to the same mother, would also treat his child well.
This was the dumbest decision he'd ever made in his life, Quentin, his child,
Just a few days after getting married, when he came back, he noticed something was wrong and asked repeatedly, but Quentin didn't want to make him worry, so he refused to say anything.
This time, it was also someone arranged in Prince Yu's mansion who secretly conveyed the message, informing him that Quentin might be in danger.
......
Pro's eyes immediately fell on the scar on Quentin's cheek, and intense heartache and resentment instantly surged in his eyes, but he quickly controlled it. The child finally came back.
He just walked up quickly and hugged Quentin tightly in his arms.
"It's good that you're back, it's good that you're back..." Pro's voice was choked with an imperceptible sob. He patted Quentin's back as if he was comforting a child who had suffered grievances.
Even if he had to come into direct conflict with Prince Yu and the royal family this time, he would never hand over his child.
Last time, under the persuasion of the Insect King, he had to give in and let Quentin go back.
In order to prevent Quentin from being punished, the Ducas family even signed a 50-year energy mining project cooperation agreement.
That beast! How dare he bully his own child like this?
"Father..." Quentin buried his head in his father's strong shoulders, feeling the warm embrace. The strength he had been holding on to seemed to have an outlet, and his voice trembled slightly.
"Grandma!" An Nuo raised his little face and called timidly.
Puro wiped his tears, let go of Quentin, squatted down, and hugged An Nuo in his arms. He said in a gentle tone: "Little An Nuo, don't be afraid. Let's go home."
He then looked at Jie Lan, who was standing beside him with an upright figure, and patted his shoulder. This child looked very much like his deceased lover. Approval and relief flashed in Puro's eyes. "Jie Lan, you've suffered so much."
"Good kids, all of them are good kids."
"Come in, it's cold outside."
"Quentin, the medical bug is already waiting. Come and check on your injuries."
The professional medical officer carefully treated Quentin's facial injuries and gave him a comprehensive physical examination.
The result was not optimistic. New injuries piled up on top of old ones, and the foundation of his body was damaged.
Fortunately, the state of the spiritual sea seems to be very stable. As long as there are no major problems with the spiritual sea, the other things can be slowly taken care of.
As Quentin listened to the medical bug's report, his face became increasingly gloomy. His hands on his knees clenched into fists, his knuckles turning white.
Suddenly realizing something, he waved away the medical bug and looked at Quentin worriedly, "What's going on with your spiritual sea? I don't believe that male bug did it."
"Father, don't worry." Quentin comforted him.
"It's Lord Wei'an."
Quentin concealed most of the process, and Pro thought that it was Vian who performed mental mediation on Quentin.
After a moment's silence, he said, "I have to thank him. I will go to the Clement family tomorrow to pay them a visit."
Quentin quickly spoke up to stop him. "No need, father. I gave him the family crest, and besides, Lord Vian doesn't have a deep connection with the Clement family. If you want to visit, just go directly to his private residence."
When Pro heard Quentin say that he gave the family emblem to Wei'an, he was a little surprised. He thought that this gift was too expensive, but when he thought that Quentin was still in this state, he felt relieved and nodded.
"Then you should find a chance to visit and thank them. You should go home and take good care of them now. You might need to trouble them again in the future."
Quentin smiled directly, holding Pro's arm, feeling a sense of relief and satisfaction, "Well, I'll listen to my father."
Thinking of Prince Yu, Pro said in a somewhat cold tone, "As for Prince Yu, don't worry. Now that you're back, I won't let him touch you again. It's true that Prince Yu is a member of the royal family, but my Ducas family is not a soft persimmon that can be squeezed by anyone! What happened last time won't happen again."
"Father, don't say that." Quentin interrupted him and shook his head. "It was my own choice last time. I don't blame you." He himself had always had unrealistic fantasies before, but now it seems ridiculous.
"From now on, you, Jie Lan and An Nuo can live here peacefully." Pro was full of dominance.
"I will send more people to protect the safety of the manor. Jielan will continue to study at the Imperial Military Academy, and I will find the best tutor for Annuo. He will not go to that school for the time being to avoid being bullied."
Quentin nodded.
Pro looked at the child who left that hellish place. Although he looked tired, his eyes were clear and he had mixed feelings in his heart.
This is good. His child was the heir to the Ducas family and should not be buried in the mud forever.
"You should have a good rest first. We'll talk about everything after you recover." Pro patted Quentin's shoulder lovingly.
That night, Quentin lay in his room, his familiar bed beneath him, the gentle breeze outside the window. Annuo, lying beside him, slept soundly, having finally escaped the terrifying surroundings.
Quentin couldn't fall asleep for a long time. He looked at the ceiling with mixed emotions.
Before going home, he was a little nervous; but now he is not afraid anymore.
Quentin gently stroked Anno's soft hair, closed his eyes, and felt the long-lost tranquility in his mind, slowly falling into sleep. This was the first time in many years that he had fallen asleep peacefully without the torture of drugs and mental power.
At the same time, at Prince Yu’s Mansion.
"Bang!"
Another priceless antique vase shattered on the ground, where the fragments had already accumulated.
Prince Yu's face turned pale, his chest heaving violently, burning with anger.
"What a jerk Quentin! What a jerk the Ducas family is!" He gritted his teeth, his voice distorted by extreme anger. "How dare you turn against me! And how dare you bring up the Ducas family to pressure me!"
The living room was in a mess. The waiters knelt on the ground, trembling, and no one dared to step forward to dissuade them.
Prince Yu grew increasingly angry as he thought about it, especially when he recalled the look Quentin had given him last time—calm, yet with a resoluteness that bordered on defiance. This was a stark contrast to the Quentin he had always remembered, the submissive, weeping man.
It was that Vian Clement! He must have given Quentin the confidence!
Did that bitch Quentin do something to offend him? It must be so. Wei An, that weirdo, has never been heard of. He is not friends with anyone. He stays at home all day and is just a bookworm. Why would he help An Nuo?
And the Ducas family, those old bastards, actually dared to go against him at this critical juncture! Have they forgotten who gave them so many business conveniences and royal orders?
"Prepare the aircraft! I'm going to the palace!" Prince Yu roared. He wanted to see his brother. The Ducas family was about to rebel! And that Wei An, who had repeatedly ruined his plans, must teach him a lesson!
However, when he rushed to the palace angrily and asked to see the Insect King Ronan, he was respectfully stopped outside the study by the waiter.
"Your Highness Prince Yu, His Majesty is discussing important matters with Marshal Bai Ze and has instructed that no one should disturb them." The waiter said with his head down.
Prince Yu frowned and suppressed his anger: "I have an urgent matter! It's about the Ducas family and Quentin!"
The waiter remained motionless: "Your Highness, His Majesty specifically instructed that you wait a moment, especially since you have arrived."
Prince Yu was stunned, a sense of foreboding rising in his heart. What did my brother mean by this? Did he already know?
