Chapter 30: Dawn Project Your mental strength has been demonstrated during treatment...
Feeling the warmth coming from behind and the undisguised tenderness in Wei'an's words, Yitulan slowly turned around and hugged Wei'an in his arms.
"My lord," his voice was low and hoarse, with a hint of fatigue as if he had survived a disaster, but his beautiful light blue eyes were still as beautiful as ever.
"Rest if you're tired," Wei An pulled him towards the bed. "Don't think about anything tonight. Get a good night's sleep."
Yitulan followed him obediently, watching Wei'an busying himself for him, spreading out the quilt, patting the pillow to make it softer, and pouring a cup of warm water and placing it on the bedside.
From beginning to end, he couldn't control himself from looking away and kept looking at Wei An.
With a soft heart, Yitulan held Wei'an's busy hand, and her light blue eyes were shining with moisture under the warm yellow light.
The two of them lay down, and Wei An nestled into Yitulan's arms as usual, looking for the most comfortable position.
She put her arms around him, placed her palms on Ituran's back, and patted him lightly from time to time, as if to comfort him, or to confirm his presence.
The sun shines in.
Wei An woke up first, and as soon as he opened his eyes he saw Yitulan's peaceful sleeping face.
The sunlight fell on him, his silver-white hair seemed to be glowing, and his stern face was incredibly soft in the morning light.
The silvery-white, transparent eyelashes cast a faint shadow under his eyelids, and his expression was unprecedentedly relaxed and peaceful. Wei An's heart softened when he saw it, and he couldn't help but quietly move closer and press a light kiss on the corner of his lips.
Just as she was about to step away, an arm wrapped around her waist. Itulan had woken up without her noticing. Her light blue eyes were hazy with a smile on their lips.
"Morning, my Lord."
"Good morning." Wei An responded with a smile, leaning over to rub the tip of Yitulan's nose, "Did you sleep well?"
"Very good." Yitulan tightened his arms and directly pulled Wei An into his arms from the half-bent position.
The two of them stayed in bed for a while longer, until Meng Er knocked on the door outside, and the electronic sound excitedly reminded them that breakfast was ready, then they got up and washed up.
The atmosphere at the dinner table was relaxed. Meng Er walked around the two of them, reporting on the results of his early morning work—not only had he pulled out all the weeds, but he had also watered the garden.
Finally, he mentioned that Kane wanted to ask Vian out for dinner.
When Kane was mentioned, Wei An just remembered this. How could Kane be waiting at school for a long time?
"I guess I'll have to wait until school starts before eating. Professor Aaron is taking me to the research institute today."
"What's going on with Kane? Why does he stay in school all the time?" Vian asked curiously.
Meng Er showed a big question mark and said, "Meng Er, I don't know, eh? But Ford often visits him."
Wei An raised his eyebrows. Okay, that shouldn't be a big problem.
Yitulan handed the bread slices with jam to Wei'an.
"My Lord, did Professor Aaron say a specific time?"
Vian took a bite of the bread. This jam was made by Ituran. The acidity and sweetness were just right, perfect!
"No, he asked me to pick a random time today to go over. He should be at the research institute as well."
"Today should just be an introduction, there shouldn't be anything else."
Ituran nodded.
When Vian arrived at the institute, Professor Aaron was waiting for him at the door.
Professor Aaron still had that serious look on his face, but when he saw Vian, a hint of barely perceptible relief flashed in his eyes, and even the scar on his face didn't look so scary anymore.
"Here?" Professor Aaron said briefly.
Wei An smiled and nodded.
"teacher."
Professor Aaron didn't exchange any pleasantries. He turned and motioned for Wei An to follow him. "Follow me. My senior brother wants to see you first."
Inside the institute, there is a towering dome, cold metal walls, and many glass walls around it, with many plants growing inside.
Staff members in white research coats walked hurriedly, and various precision instruments operated silently in the transparent compartments.
Professor Aaron led Vian through several doors requiring authorization verification, and finally arrived at a spacious office. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows provided a great view, but the interior furnishings were unusually simple.
A man who was working at his desk heard the noise and stood up to greet them.
Wei An looked at the worker in front of him.
She was a young-looking female insect with rare short dark green hair and deep green eyes. She had a calm temperament and was wearing a fitted uniform of a senior research institute leader. She was looking at them with a smile on her face and seemed quite kind.
"This is my senior, Murphy, who is also the main person in charge of the Dawn Project." Professor Aaron introduced with obvious respect in his tone.
"Good day, Mr. Murphy." Vian greeted politely.
He had heard of this name in class before, Murphy, one of the top experts in mental power research. Although young, he has made great achievements. He usually lives a secluded life and rarely appears in public.
I didn’t expect that he was the person in charge of this project and Professor Aaron’s senior?
It’s a small world.
Moss's eyes fell on Vian, revealing a look of satisfaction.
"Sir Vian Clement," Moss's voice was as cool and steady as his person. "Aaron has shown me your previous surgical practice data at school. It's very interesting."
Murphy walked over to his desk and brought up a light screen.
"Did you know? Your mental power has shown a unique purifying property during treatment, as well as a strong suppressive power against infinity substances. Your mental power should still be growing."
Wei An felt a chill in his heart. He had the same feeling when he helped many female soldiers in the Northern Territory, but he did not tell others about his vague perception that his mental power might be more than A-level.
Mr. Murphy, has he seen so much just from the previous data?
"You're too kind," Wei An replied cautiously.
Murphy seemed to see through his thoughts and curled the corners of his mouth slightly.
"Don't be so nervous. I'm affirming your value. The Shuguang Project is something I applied for last year. The institute's previous research on infinity material pollution was a complete failure. I feel like there's something wrong with their approach."
"I founded the Dawn Project to try to understand why the male insect's mental power can restrain the pollution of ∞ matter, and ultimately fundamentally neutralize or eliminate the continuous pollution of ∞ matter on the female insect's mental sea."
Murphy pointed to several energy points on the screen that were highlighted and constantly distorted.
"Previously developed inhibitors can only alleviate symptoms but cannot address the root cause."
"It will continue to erode and alienate the female insect's spiritual sea, eventually completely transforming her into an insect."
Wei An looked at the energy change model of ∞ matter, a living black fog that constantly tried to devour the white light spots of normal mental power around it.
"What does this project require of me?" Wei'an's voice became firmer.
"For now, you need to cooperate with us in some basic tests to accurately quantify your mental parameters and confirm your sensing accuracy and interference intensity of the ∞ material." Morpheus operated the light screen and called up a detailed test plan.
"Afterwards, we will collect samples of the ∞ substance contamination from the spiritual seas of retired military females who volunteered to participate in the project. We need to record your mental power's reaction when it comes into contact with these samples. Rest assured, we will safely isolate them."
Professor Aaron frowned and added.
"This process must be carried out in an absolutely controlled environment, and any discomfort must be stopped immediately."
"∞ matter is extremely bizarre. Even isolated samples have caused mental damage to researchers."
Murphy nodded, that was indeed the case.
Wei An thought about it and spoke.
"I understand the risks involved." Wei An looked at the black matter on the screen that was constantly wriggling and trying to devour the light spots, his eyes determined. "I am willing to participate in this project."
Murphy's green eyes flashed with approval, and he turned off the screen. "Very good. Today you will first familiarize yourself with the environment and complete the onboarding process. Aaron will show you around the main labs and open up permissions for you in the relevant areas."
"By the way, you are still a student at the Imperial Military Academy. We will negotiate with the school to come up with a suitable outcome. Don't worry."
Professor Aaron stepped forward and handed Wei'an a silver-white authorization card. "Keep it. The internal areas of the institute are strictly divided. You cannot enter without authorization. Forcing your way in will trigger the defense system."
Looking at the outstanding students in front of me,
He paused, his tone serious, "Remember, here, curiosity needs to be kept within the scope of authority."
Wei An took the card, feeling a slight chill on his touch: "I understand, teacher."
Professor Aaron accompanied him to activate the permission card.
In front of the operating table, the light screen lit up and mechanical sounds rang out.
Authority confirmed - [Vian Clement, A-level male insect, special researcher of the Dawn Project, authority is B-level].
Professor Aaron was a little surprised. It seemed that his senior brother really thought highly of Wei An and actually gave him such a high grade.
But that's normal, Wei'an is indeed a rare excellence.
Can he bring hope to Dawn?
Professor Aaron couldn't help but sigh in his heart.
After activating the permission card, Professor Aaron took Vian to visit several non-core laboratories and the general distribution of some functional areas.
When they were about to leave, they met a male insect who looked a little older. He had some white hair, but it was well-groomed. He looked very elegant, with wise and gentle eyes, and he had the purity of a scholar.
Professor Aaron reminded Vian,
"This is Dean Lynn."
"Sir Wei'an," Dean Lin En smiled and extended his hand, "I have long heard of your great name."
Wei An shook his hand and smiled modestly, his attitude neither humble nor overbearing. "Dean Lin, you are too kind. It is my honor to be able to participate in this project."
Dean Lin En nodded.
"The Dawn Project is challenging but of great significance, and even His Majesty has high hopes for it."
Wei An's heart moved slightly, but his expression remained calm: "I understand, Dean."
Dean Lin En smiled, looking very kind.
He took out a copy of the initial encrypted data and handed it to Wei'an: "This is a temporary privilege I'm granting you. This data involves some core data and unpublished research results, which need to be strictly confidential. Familiarize yourself with it first, it should be helpful."
......
"This...is not appropriate, Dean. I just joined the institute."
Lin En walked up to Wei An and patted his shoulder.
"This is not only my intention, but also His Majesty's. His Majesty specifically instructed me yesterday."
