Chapter 156 Bring me my stomach medicine

"Ms. Wen, Mr. Shang is waiting for you at the bar." Wu Xiumei took the handbag from Wen Ran's hand and pointed to the bar not far away.

"He's not drinking again, is he?" With doubt in his eyes, Wen Ran walked towards the bar.

Because of the rain, the sky had become completely dark. There was no light at the bar. Wen Ran walked over and could only vaguely see a figure at the bar.

As she got closer, she could see Shang Jingchi clearly.

Shang Jingchi was holding a bottle of red wine in his hand, leaning sideways on the bar.

His eyes were closed, as if he was asleep.

Wen Ran walked over and took the bottle of red wine from Shang Jingchi's hand, and called out, "Mr. Shang?"

Shang Jingchi slowly opened his eyes, stretched out his arms towards Wen Ran, and said in a hoarse voice, "Ran Ran, you're here."

Shang Jingchi put his arm on Wen Ran's shoulder, and the weight felt like a brick on Wen Ran's shoulder.

"Why are you drinking for no reason?" Wen Ran did not push Shang Jingchi away. Instead, he grabbed his arm and tried to pull him up in a blaming tone.

She remembered that Shang Jingchi had a bad stomach and had taken him to the hospital for stomach problems before. The doctor told him not to drink too much alcohol.

Shang Jingchi was now reeking of alcohol, and with the two empty bottles on the bar, Wen Ran was about to lose his temper.

Shang Jingchi didn't move. Instead, he looked up and said excitedly to Wen Ran, "Are you worried about me, Ranran?"

Wen Ran pushed away Shang Jingchi's hand on her shoulder and spoke in a cold tone.

"I don't know you well, so why should I worry about you? I'm just here to give you some clothes."

"That dress of yours is a limited edition and is no longer available. I've chosen another style for you. If you don't like it, I can exchange it for something else."

Shang Jingchi closed his eyes and shook his head drunkenly: "I like everything Ranran gave me."

After saying that, Shang Jingchi laughed out loud.

Wen Ran felt a little sorry for him, "You should have a good rest and drink less alcohol in the future. I'm going back now."

"It's raining heavily outside."

"I drove here."

"And lightning."

"I'm not a child!"

Seeing Wen Ran resolutely turning around and about to leave, Shang Jingchi covered his stomach in desperation.

"Oh my stomach!"

Wen Ran suddenly stopped and looked back at Shang Jingchi, her eyebrows twisted into the shape of the Chinese character "川". She seriously suspected that Shang Jingchi was acting.

Shang Jingchi had a painful expression on his face. "I'm fine. Go away. Don't worry about me."

Then he leaned his entire upper body on the bar, looked towards the kitchen, and shouted weakly: "Auntie Wu! Bring me my stomach medicine, Auntie Wu..."

After shouting a few times, there was no response from the kitchen, and Shang Jingchi no longer had the energy to shout.

Wu Xiumei was frantically cooking in the kitchen, waiting to feed Wen Ran later. Her heart was completely focused on the pot, and she paid no attention to what was happening outside.

Wen Ran walked towards Shang Jingchi, feeling a little distressed. "Where's your stomach medicine? I'll get it for you."

"Help me back to my room. It's in my room." Shang Jingchi said weakly.

Wen Ran hesitated for a moment, and seeing beads of sweat on Shang Jingchi's forehead, his doubts about Shang Jingchi immediately disappeared.

She put Shang Jingchi's arm on her shoulders, pulled him up from the high stool, and walked up the stairs step by step to the master bedroom on the second floor.

When they arrived at the master bedroom, Wen Ran let go of Shang Jingchi and he fell directly onto the bed.

The rain outside the window was getting heavier and heavier, making the window crackle.

"Where is the stomach medicine?" Wen Ran asked, gasping for breath.

Carrying Shang Jingchi, who was obviously dozens of pounds heavier than her, to the second floor was more tiring than filming a whole day for her.

"In the first drawer of the bedside table." Shang Jingchi covered his stomach, the pain so severe that he didn't even open his eyes.

Wen Ran opened the first drawer of the bedside table as Shang Jingchi instructed. In the middle of the drawer was a pearwood jewelry box engraved with a golden "囍" character, which particularly caught her attention.

Driven by curiosity, Wen Ran opened the box. Inside was a ring and the jade bracelet that Jiang Zhuoyu had once given her.

This jade bracelet is extremely valuable. Wen Ran took it off and placed it in the dressing room before jumping into the sea. She didn't want to owe the merchant anything, nor did she want to ruin Jiang Zhuoyu's feelings for her.

And that ring was a pair with the one worn on Shang Jingchi's left ring finger, and they were their wedding rings.

Wen Ran looked at the two things with her mind a little dazed. A sudden thunder outside the window brought her back to her senses quickly.

Wen Ran quickly closed the jewelry box and put it away, then took out a bottle of stomach medicine next to the jewelry box.

There was no water in the room. Wen Ran put the stomach medicine on the table and looked at Shang Jingchi lying on the bed.

"Wait a moment, I'll go downstairs and get you a glass of warm water."

Wen Ran moved quickly and disappeared from the bedroom in the blink of an eye. Shang Jingchi opened his eyes and sat up by supporting himself on the bed.

The lightning outside the window made his facial features even more angular.

He glanced at the bedside table, where a bottle of stomach medicine lay quietly. There was a gap two fingers wide between the drawers on the first layer, through which he could see a pearwood jewelry box.

Shang Jingchi looked at the jewelry box and pursed his thin lips into a straight line.

"Of course, of course, you've fooled me." Shang Jingchi lowered his head and smiled bitterly, "So you didn't lose your memory at all."

The platinum wedding ring on her finger shone with metallic luster, and was extremely dazzling under the light.

Shang Jingchi stared for a long time until he heard a voice behind him.

"Why are you up?" Wen Ran walked in from outside holding a cup of warm water.

"Hurry up and drink the medicine. Aunt Wu has already called Housekeeper Liu and said she will take you to the hospital later."

As Wen Ran spoke, he unscrewed the stomach medicine bottle and poured a pill into Shang Jingchi's palm.

Seeing that he didn't move his hand, he had no choice but to look at Shang Jingchi's cheek and urge him, "Drink the medicine quickly!"

Upon seeing this, Wen Ran realized that Shang Jingchi had been staring at him. Lightning flashed outside the window, and his eyes, as deep as the sea, suddenly became unfathomable.

Wen Ran's heart trembled and he quickly looked away.

Shang Jingchi stared at Wen Ran for another two seconds before putting the stomach medicine into his mouth and drinking it with water.

"Since you have already taken the medicine, I will go back first."

Wen Ran put the medicine bottle back into the drawer, and Shang Jingchi suddenly said, "The jewelry box in the drawer is yours, take it.

Also, all the girls' stuff in this room was placed here when you and I lived here before. Do you remember?"

Wen Ran calmly closed the drawer and did not touch the jewelry box.

"I have amnesia and don't remember this."

"Then aren't you curious?" Shang Jingchi looked into Wen Ran's eyes and continued to ask.

"For me, the past is the past. There's nothing to be curious about." Wen Ran said casually, "I have something else to do, so I'll leave first."

Wen Ran did not stay any longer and quickly left the bedroom. Shang Jingchi looked at the heavy rain outside the window.

The corners of his mouth curved deeper as he murmured, "If you had forgotten, how would you have known that my bedroom is on the second floor?"

Wen Ran returned to the first floor and happened to run into Butler Liu who was running over in a hurry.

"Miss Wen, it's raining so hard, we can't drive!"
