Chapter 117 Ambiguous Daily Life

Ye Zhao got sleepy after watching for a while and wanted to go back first, but seeing how engrossed Jiang Che was, she was too embarrassed to say that she wanted to leave first.

So, not long after, she leaned her head against the back of the chair and fell asleep. Jiang Che slowly approached her, gently rested her head on his shoulder, and a triumphant smile appeared on his lips.

Ye Zhao felt her head resting on his broad shoulder, and she could clearly smell his faint fragrance. But this time she couldn't tell if he was warm anymore, because she felt her face was burning hotter. She wanted to sit up straight, but she was afraid of feeling awkward. Staying leaning on him was also a little uncomfortable.

Amidst this conflicted state of mind, she actually fell asleep.

Feeling Ye Zhao's even and slow breathing, Jiang Che let out a barely perceptible breath. When he touched Ye Zhao's head just now, he could actually sense that she seemed to be awake, but since he had already done it, he couldn't just let go halfway through, which would make things even more awkward for both of them. So he simply finished it. Fortunately, she didn't expose him.

The movie was still playing slowly, but Xie Ming and Lin Yu had disappeared from the front of the screen.

As Jiang Che watched, he also began to feel sleepy. He leaned back in his chair and fell asleep. Ye Zhao leaned on his shoulder, and he remained in the same position without moving an inch.

As the movie reached its climax, the male and female protagonists embraced and kissed, creating an ambiguous atmosphere in the movie theater. Several couples hugged each other, while Jiang Che and Ye Zhao slept peacefully.

Ye Zhao didn't wake up until the movie was almost over. She sat up blankly and looked around, only to find that her neck was stiff and painful.

When Ye Zhao woke up, Jiang Che also opened his eyes. He rarely slept like this outside. He was momentarily dazed when he woke up, but then he saw Ye Zhao moving her neck beside him and asked gently, "Awake?"

Ye Zhao turned to look at him, her expression somewhat unnatural: "Yeah, my neck hurts from sleeping so much."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Che instinctively reached out to give her a massage, but then realized it wasn't appropriate and withdrew his hand, asking in a low voice, "Shall we get a massage later? That way you should sleep better tonight."

Ye Zhao frowned and said, "No, it's getting late after the movie, I should get some rest."

Jiang Che didn't say anything more, and nodded, saying, "Alright."

As soon as they finished speaking, the background music of the movie suddenly started playing. The two subconsciously looked at the screen, where the male and female leads were embracing and kissing. Ye Zhao didn't know why, but she suddenly looked away. Unexpectedly, she turned her head and met Jiang Che's eyes. This time, neither of them looked away, and they just stared at each other.

The background music was very beautiful and romantic. Other couples in the movie theater were embracing each other. In the dim light, the atmosphere gradually became ambiguous. Ye Zhao looked into Jiang Che's deep eyes and felt that his gaze was like a vine that grew out of thin air, entwining her gaze and her emotions, making her heart beat faster.

Jiang Che stared at Ye Zhao, his eyes slightly darkened. Perhaps it was the ambiguous atmosphere, or perhaps it was because Ye Zhao's gaze was not entirely innocent, but he felt a surge of impulse and slowly moved closer to Ye Zhao.

The two drew closer and closer, so close they could feel each other's breath. Jiang Che almost couldn't resist kissing her, but he still maintained his composure and asked softly, "Is it alright?"

Ye Zhao's already flushed face turned bright red instantly. Before she could say anything, the movie theater lights suddenly came on, and the movie ended.

In that instant, she clearly saw the annoyance on Jiang Che's face and the blush that gradually rose, and a smile unconsciously appeared on her lips.

Jiang Che clearly saw the smile on her face, and felt even more annoyed. He slowly moved away from Ye Zhao, cleared his throat, and asked, "What are you laughing at?"

Ye Zhao shook her head, but the smile on her face kept widening. Worried that Jiang Che would see it, she turned her head away and smiled.

Jiang Che belatedly felt embarrassed, but a sweet feeling welled up inside him, and he couldn't help but smile.

It wasn't until they came out of the movie theater and felt the cool breeze outside that the heat on their faces dissipated.

Jiang Che looked down at Ye Zhao and asked, "Are you hungry? Shall we go get something to eat?"

He shouldn't have mentioned it, because Ye Zhao actually felt a bit hungry. So the two of them went to the restaurant again, only to run into Lin Yu and Xie Ming there. The two of them actually started drinking, with several bottles of various sizes piled up next to them, clearly indicating that they had drunk quite a bit.

"You're just holding a grudge against me for standing you up, aren't you? You wait, I'll treat you to a nice meal in a few days when I have time," Lin Yu said loudly to Xie Ming, her face flushed.

Her eyes were glazed over, and she was swaying slightly as she sat; she was clearly drunk, and quite drunk at that.

Xie Ming, who was sitting opposite her, was in an even worse state. He had already slumped onto the table. Hearing this, he still sat up defiantly and shouted, "Do I hold a grudge about that meal? I want your attitude."

When he spoke, his eyes looked as if he was about to close them completely.

Seeing this, Ye Zhao and Jiang Che exchanged a glance, both speechless. But seeing that they were obviously quite drunk, they hurriedly went over to take the wine away. Unexpectedly, when the two saw that they were going to take their wine, they panicked and struggled to grab it. The wine bottles were knocked to the ground with a clatter, and the scene became chaotic.

After working for quite a while, they finally managed to bring the two of them back to their room.

Ye Zhao helped Lin Yu pour water, wipe her face, and take off her clothes. After working for a while, she broke out in a light sweat.

Just as I finished tidying up and sat down to take a sip of water, Jiang Che knocked on the door from outside.

"Are you done? Would you like to get something to eat?"

Seeing that Ye Zhao looked tired, he added, "Or should I have the waiter bring it over? What would you like to eat?"

That would be best; Ye Zhao was simply too lazy to move.

"I'd like some porridge, something light."

Jiang Che replied while typing on his phone, "Okay, eat early and get some rest."

After he finished speaking, he looked up at Ye Zhao. Their eyes met, and Ye Zhao looked away first: "Okay, you should get some rest too."

Jiang Che looked at her intently and nodded, and Ye Zhao suddenly felt uneasy again.

Seeing this, Jiang Che's lips curled up slightly, and he suddenly asked, "Aren't you going to say goodnight to me?"

His voice was clear and gentle, but his words were somewhat ambiguous, making Ye Zhao even more uncomfortable. She subconsciously replied, "Good night!"

Jiang Che wore a triumphant smile, looked at her quietly for a few seconds, and then slowly said, "Good night!"

Ye Zhao closed the door, stomped her foot in annoyance, then realized that Jiang Che was teasing her, which made her even more annoyed, but a smile unconsciously appeared on her face.
