The man sat with his back to her, wearing a white shirt and a light gray suit vest, his short hair neatly trimmed.
He had his head slightly lowered, as if he were reading a book.
Even if that figure were burned to ashes, Shen Qing would still recognize it.
She was so excited that her face flushed, and she was so nervous that she didn't know how to greet him.
So he deliberately pounded the door behind him with his hand to make a noise.
Cheng Zhiwen turned around and looked over as expected upon hearing the sound.
His gaze lingered on her face for a while, then moved to her body, which was dressed in a long silk nightgown, and circled around twice before finally returning to her face.
He put down the newspaper in his hand, got up and walked over, stood in front of her, and looked down at her.
"Why didn't you tell me you were going to England? Do you know how dangerous it is for you to go to a foreign country alone?"
He started scolding her again, as he always does, but she didn't feel disgusted at all. Instead, she could sense his nervousness.
She felt a little smug, raised her head, and boldly met his eyes: "I didn't tell you, but you still came!"
He choked and said nothing.
Shen Qing glanced at him: "Did Old Xu tell you?"
"Um."
Shen Qing deliberately cursed, "Old Xu dared to leak my privacy to you! I'll kick him out when I get back!"
Upon hearing this, his brow furrowed again, and he scolded, "You still have the nerve to talk back? You went to England all by yourself, shouldn't Old Xu have told me about this?"
Shen Qing looked at him with a grin.
"Do you know how many dangers there are at sea? Pirates might board the ship at any moment! You're a young woman; what if you were..."
Finding that she wasn't scared at all and was even smiling at her, Cheng Zhiwen angrily shook her hand: "If there's a next time, I won't help you!"
Shen Qing smiled smugly and said, "I don't believe you won't take care of me."
He was too lazy to waste any more words with her, so he sat back down in his previous seat and picked up the newspaper again.
Shen Qing returned to the bedroom with a smile, took the cloak from the clothes rack, stood in front of the dressing mirror, and put on the cloak in front of the mirror.
Seeing the two obvious bulges on her chest in the mirror, she was so frightened that she hugged her chest with both arms.
Before entering the bathroom, she thought she was alone in the house, so she went in to shower without taking a bellyband.
After washing, she simply wore a long silk dress over her clothes, and the sheen of the silk fabric made her nipples appear even more prominent.
Shen Qing was going crazy, pacing back and forth in the bedroom in agitation.
Cheng Zhiwen had just looked her up and down twice, and she saw it!
So he must have seen that...
Shen Qing felt deeply ashamed and worried that Cheng Zhiwen would think she was trying to seduce him, making her even more restless.
In the past, she might have dismissed it and let him think whatever he wanted, but things are different now.
Because she likes him but can't let him know, she has to draw a line between them and keep it a secret.
Thinking of this, she took off her nightgown and put on a neat new dress.
I originally wanted to put my long hair up, but since it wasn't completely dry, I had to leave it down for the time being.
Shen Qing tucked her long hair behind her ears to keep it from becoming disheveled before leaving the room.
She returned to the living room, where Cheng Zhiwen was still reading the newspaper. Hearing the door open, she stood up and walked towards the small sofa by the window.
"Let's have afternoon tea together."
Shen Qing followed and found two glasses of black liquid, two small cakes, and a small dish of sugar cubes on the small round table.
"It's coffee!" She sat down with delight, gently pressing her long hair with one hand, and took a deep breath of the aroma of coffee. "Oh my god, I haven't had coffee in so long, heaven knows how much I've missed it!"
Cheng Zhiwen smiled and took a sip of her coffee, saying, "If you like coffee, why didn't you tell me? I have plenty."
Shen Qing picked up the coffee cup and took a small sip.
"This time when I go to England, I'm going to buy enough coffee to last me a year." After saying that, he took a small sip.
Cheng Zhiwen looked at her with a smile in her eyes: "I know there's a coffee bean in England with a very unique flavor. When we get to England, I'll take you to buy it."
Shen Qing exclaimed in delight, "You keep your word! I'll remember that!"
This coffee bean was undoubtedly the first thing she looked forward to on this trip.
When the road ahead is uncertain, a small coffee bean can bring comfort.
Shen Qing finished the entire cup of coffee. The caffeine entered his central nervous system, making him feel refreshed and energetic.
She described in detail to Cheng Zhiwen Schmidt's request to exchange the machine for an agreement.
Cheng Zhiwen frowned after listening and said, "I had someone move the machine away, but Schmidt said that if he doesn't give an agreement, he won't support the mass production of the machine."
Shen Qing sighed, "I have a feeling that in the end we'll have to hand over the agreement in order to get the machine. Without this machine, the factory can't be set up, and we can't produce down jackets. What's the point of this trip to Europe then?"
After saying that, she felt a little discouraged.
Looking back on the entire process of making down jackets, it was full of hardships, with difficulties being overcome one by one: duck armpit feathers, raw materials, yarn drawing, high-density spinning...
They finally made it to the last hurdle and the machine was completed, but then they were held back by interests.
Yes, she threatened their interests, so of course they're going to try and control her.
But what could she do?
The blueprints and technology were all in Schmidt's hands. If Schmidt went on strike, she wouldn't get the machines, and the down jacket business would be doomed to failure.
The Schmidt strike meant that Chinese fabric manufacturers couldn't buy the machine, so the issue of whether or not patent fees were waived became irrelevant.
Thinking of this, Shen Qing's resolve wavered: "I left the agreement in Jiangzhou. I'll give it to Schmidt when I get back."
Cheng Zhiwen put the coffee cup back on the saucer: "Giving up so easily is unlike you."
"This isn't something that can be accomplished by brute force. First, I need to save my own life, and then we'll talk about the rest."
"Shen Qing..." Cheng Zhiwen suddenly called out her name.
She snapped out of her daze and looked at him: "What?"
He tapped the floor with his index finger.
Shen Qing looked down at the direction he was pointing.
There was only a carpet and a table corner, nothing else. She looked at him suspiciously: "What do you want to say?"
"Guess what I brought with me?"
"What did you bring and hide down there?"
Below are areas such as second-class cabins, third-class cabins, and cargo holds.
Warehouse?
Shen Qing looked at Cheng Zhiwen in surprise: "You brought the machine? Are you planning to go to Europe to find another designer to replicate it?"
Cheng Zhiwen laughed loudly.
Shen Qing said urgently, "Is that so? Speak up!"
He wouldn't say, insisting, "You'll know once you get ashore."
Shen Qing was driven crazy by the torment and wanted to know immediately.
If it's confirmed that the machine can be replicated and she won't be held hostage by Schmidt, her journey will be much easier, and she'll have more confidence when discussing orders with clients.
But Cheng Zhiwen insisted on tormenting her.
She got up angrily, walked behind him, and suddenly reached under his armpit to tickle him: "Are you going to tell me or not! Are you going to tell me or not!"
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
