Chapter 118 Pushing him against the wall

Shen Qing sat there for a long time, but the Chinese trader Cai Chong mentioned never showed up.

Cheng Zhiwen remained seated, puffing on his cigarette, neither getting up nor noticing her.

He didn't say much, but the three men at his table kept talking, but it always revolved around assassination.

It turns out that some places have recently started banning smoking again, and these people are planning to assassinate the minister who led the ban.

“Once these people stop smoking opium, they will awaken! They will regain their strength, both mentally and physically, and it will not be so easy for them to invade this country!”

"Yes! I think anyone who dares to ban smoking now will be killed! If we kill them all, let's see if anyone can ban smoking then!"

"Opium is a wonderful thing! Smoking it for a few years will kill you on your opium couch... Without firing a single shot, just a little time and opium can destroy this country... What a brilliant method..."

Those three people all spoke fluent Chinese, but who would have thought they were so malicious!

Shen Qing was so angry she almost ground her teeth to powder, fearing that if she sat down any longer, she would lose control and kill these people.

She stood up silently, walked towards the door, and ran back to her room, only to find that her whole body was trembling.

She never imagined that Cheng Zhiwen was actually a traitor! A leading collaborator!

And she had actually been attracted to him before!

Her hand was still tightly gripping the hairpin knife, the tip piercing her palm. The stinging pain reminded her that she had to kill Cheng Zhiwen!

These traitors played an indispensable role in the profound disasters this country has experienced!

She traveled to Jiangzhou, a small place where silkworms were raised and silk was produced. She thought that things like invasion and revolution were far away from her. She never expected that a traitor would appear in front of her now!

If she didn't have the chance, so be it; but now that she does, she's determined to get rid of Cheng Zhiwen!

Eliminate as many as you can!

"Knock knock..."

Behind me, someone knocked on the door.

Shen Qing snapped out of her daze, stood up calmly, pressed her ear to the door, and listened to the sounds outside.

“It’s me,” Cheng Zhiwen said softly. “I know you’re inside.”

Shen Qing was startled, and her heart raced.

Just a moment ago I was thinking about how to kill him, and he delivered himself right to my doorstep!

The knocking continued.

Shen Qing's nerves tightened even more, her hand gripping the hairpin knife tightly, the tip of the knife piercing her palm, blood flowing freely without her noticing.

She comforted herself, thinking that now only she and Cheng Zhiwen were in the room, and all the men on this floor had gone to the tea party, so no one would notice that Cheng Zhiwen had come to her room. She could kill Cheng Zhiwen here and throw the body out the window without anyone knowing.

After making these plans, she was already in tears.

She remembered all the help Cheng Zhiwen had given her, remembered him shooting a Japanese man for her, remembered his promise to take her shopping in France…

But tonight, he has transformed into her enemy!

She had to kill him with her own hands!

If she didn't know, fine, but now that she does, she can't let him off the hook!

If she hesitates or softens her heart, she will be disloyal to the country and betray the oath she once made!

Thinking of this, Shen Qing hastily wiped away her tears, stood up, and decisively opened the door.

Cheng Zhiwen stood alone outside the door, her hairstyle still the same as before, slicked back and shiny, revealing her exquisite and alluring features.

At that moment, his thick eyebrows furrowed, and he looked at her seriously for a few seconds before suddenly pushing her into the room.

He kicked the door shut and locked it from the inside.

He pressed her body against the window, holding her tightly in his arms.

Outside was the unfathomable sea, and the sound of seawater lapping against the ship's hull could be heard from the walls.

He buried his face in Shen Qing's neck and asked in a low voice, "Were you at the tea party just now?"

Shen Qing was horrified!

He had discovered himself.

She actually thought he hadn't seen her and therefore hadn't noticed, but in fact he already knew where she was, he just hadn't shown it.

Knowing she was there, yet still daring to say those things, either he looked down on her and didn't think she posed any threat; or he had already seen through her feelings for him and believed that she had those feelings for him and couldn't bear to do anything to him.

I still look down on her and think she has no backbone!

A mocking smile curved her lips as Shen Qing chuckled, "Yes, I went to the tea party. What do you think?"

He spoke through gritted teeth, "That's not a place for you!"

"What do you mean?" Shen Qing asked, feigning madness as he took off his suit jacket.

With his left hand, he touched his waistcoat and unbuttoned it one by one. His palm then moved up along the waistband of his trousers and pressed down on it.

The thick, muscular muscles told her that these were his pectoral muscles, and just an inch to the side was his heart.

The man's breath, spraying onto her neck, grew increasingly rapid and hot.

Cheng Zhiwen felt something.

Shen Qing calmly extended his right hand and moved it upwards, the tip of the hairpin knife immediately aimed at Cheng Zhiwen's heart!

She turned around and shoved him against the wall!

"Speak! Who is the master you serve? Which officials in the Qing court are your accomplices?"

In the darkness, she couldn't see Cheng Zhiwen's expression, but she felt a jolt in her right hand.

Cheng Zhiwen actually grabbed the blade of the knife she was pressing against his chest with his hand!

The hot, sticky sensation quickly spread to her hand, and a powerful force gripped the blade, pushing the hairpin knife back.

Then, Cheng Zhiwen pushed her onto the bed next to him.

She jumped to her feet, intending to continue stabbing him, when the lights came on.

Cheng Zhiwen turned on the light.

The sudden light made her eyes uncomfortable. She closed her eyes, shook her head a few times, and then opened them again, only to see Cheng Zhiwen standing there with a disappointed look on her face.

There was a pool of blood on the floor beside him, and blood was still dripping from his palm.

He looked at her coldly: "I specially forged the sharpest knife in the world for you, to protect you, but you used it to assassinate me?"

"Because you are a traitor! If we don't kill you, who will we kill!"

Shen Qing lunged at him, knocking him to the ground, and raised the hairpin knife to stab him in the chest.

The door was then kicked open.

Two men dressed as sailors rushed in. One of them picked her up, put his hand around her neck, and shoved her straight against the wall.

The sudden impact between his back and head made Shen Qing dizzy.

The other person helped Cheng Zhiwen up and, seemingly out of nowhere, produced gauze to press on his bleeding palm to stop the bleeding.

"Mr. Cheng, are you alright?"

Cheng Zhiwen waved her hand, stood up, glanced at Shen Qing who was being choked, and coldly ordered, "Keep a close eye on her!"

"Yes, sir!"

Cheng Zhiwen took one last look at Shen Qing before hurriedly leaving.

Shen Qing looked at the pool of blood on the ground, then at her own hand, and suddenly realized that the hairpin knife was gone.

She looked at the young man who was still choking her. He was facing away from her, and she saw his long, thick sideburns. A flash of white light appeared before her eyes, and she suddenly remembered where she had seen this person before.
