Chapter 67 I like anything you buy.

Qi Su obeyed and obediently showed it to her.

After flipping through a few pages, the girl surnamed Tang's expression changed drastically.

He shoved the booklets into his arms.

Lowering his voice, he asked, "Where did you get this thing?"

Qi Su: "Grandma Cai gave it to me."

"Grandma Cai is giving it to you? This thing is more important than her life, would she really give it to you?"

The woman lowered her voice, her eyes sharp as she scrutinized Qi Su's face.

Qi Su laughed and said, "Oh, water that's too clear has no fish, don't ask such detailed questions. I didn't ask you either, as an Embroidered Uniform Envoy, why you came to a place like this."

The young woman surnamed Tang's expression changed drastically in an instant.

"you--"

A small knife slid out from her sleeve.

Qi Su quickly waved her hand.

"Alright, alright, are you all trained by the same people? I saw your dagger yesterday. I happen to know a girl who has the same one as yours. That's how I recognized it, right?"

"I really meant no harm. I'm giving you this booklet in return. Please, in return, help your companions rescue all the sisters in the garden."

"Who exactly are you?" Miss Tang asked.

Qi Su: "Who it is doesn't matter. What's important is that I have something to do today and I need to go back first."

The young woman surnamed Tang frowned.

Where are you going back to?

“Go back to my husband. I’m love-struck; I can’t sleep without seeing him.”

Miss Tang said coldly, "Do you think you can get out? Even if you could, I would stop you. If someone suddenly goes missing in such a heavily guarded place as Baishui Garden, everyone else will be at risk for you."

Qi Su: "Wow, this ruthless and cold-blooded style is so similar."

She thought about it.

"However, your concerns are valid. Here's what we'll do: come with me, and this matter will be resolved."

Granny Cai did not expect Qi Su to return.

"Mother-in-law, there's something I forgot to tell you."

The young woman, standing in the shadows by the door, leaned against the doorframe, her voice soft and light.

Granny Cai had a splitting headache and felt dizzy and impatient to talk to anyone.

"We'll talk about it tomorrow."

"Tomorrow won't work," the young woman laughed.

"I'll be dead tomorrow, how can I speak to my mother-in-law then?"

You're going to die tomorrow?

"Yes. Because she disobeyed her mother-in-law and even tried to hit you, you beat her up and threw her into the pond. Just like the last young lady who died."

The woman spoke with a smile. Her pupils glowed faintly in the darkness.

Old Lady Cai called someone over late at night.

With blood all over her hands and face, she sat in the dark room, looking rather eerie and unsettling.

There was a burlap sack on the ground, already tied up, with blood seeping out.

"Drag him out and deal with him," she mumbled incoherently.

There are servants in the garden who specialize in doing this kind of dirty work.

Without asking any further questions, they dragged the sack out.

While dragging the car, he thought to himself, "How long has it been? Another young woman has already been lost."

Next year, none of the fish in the lotus pond will be edible.

Wow, this young lady is a bit heavy today. She's as heavy as a pig in the kitchen.

In the plum grove, two figures watched the servant leave.

One of them said, "Oh, it's such a waste to see such a large garden like this. Why not just burn it down? Otherwise, wouldn't it just benefit the filthy creatures inside?"

Another person said, "If you want to leave, then leave. Don't cause any trouble and delay my work."

The first one laughed: "Sister, all I did was ask you to steal a pig from the kitchen. I never thought your hands, which are always holding books, could actually carry a pig!"

Another one: "Get lost, I won't see you out."

.

Qi Su went to see Granny Cai that night, and then never came back.

When it was time for her usual rest, Sister Tang turned off the lights and went to bed.

There was someone inside the room speaking in a strange, unsettling tone.

"Hey, aren't you going to wait for your sweetheart?"

Sister Tang said coldly, "They haven't come back yet, and who knows if they're even alive."

With fewer people involved, the competition becomes less intense, and the risk of vying for favor decreases.

Even the room seemed quieter now.

Less is better.

Less would be even better.

Lingye Inn.

Qi Su entered from outside, exuding an aura of cold wind and frost.

"My lord~~~~~" was spoken in a coquettish and sweet tone.

She stepped into the room, rushed to the table, and hugged the young man tightly.

"You know what? I thought I would never see you again in this lifetime. I thought of you, and I thought of Buddha's heart. If I were gone, how would you and the child live?"

She pressed her face against his back.

She wrapped her arms around his waist, like a clingy cat, all sweet and affectionate.

Dao Ci did not pull her off him.

He turned his head slightly and asked in a calm voice, "Is this what you learned at Baishuiyuan?"

Qi Su: "You know everything? How come you don't miss me at all?"

She shook off his arm and sat down next to him.

"I was so eager to come back and see you, to tell you that I almost became the Crown Princess."

Her bright eyes were fixed on the person opposite her.

Suddenly, Qi Su stretched out a finger and poked the back of the man's hand.

Hey, don't hold it in.

What? The man looked back at her coldly.

Qi Su blinked.

"Don't hold back if you miss me. It will backfire, and you'll end up loving me more and more, which would be terrible."

The man didn't speak, his calm gaze shifting away from her face.

He tapped his fingers on the table.

On the table in front of her was a steaming hot meal.

Jade fish soup, stir-fried chicken, mutton dumplings, and a plate of crisp pickled cucumbers.

"This was prepared for me?" Qi Su smiled, her eyes crinkling with genuine joy.

Dao Ci sat to the side, watching her eat.

She ate with great relish.

The biting wind howled and pounded against the windowpanes.

The charcoal stove inside the room was burning hot.

Qi Su finished the last sip of soup and sighed contentedly.

"Master, your move is brilliant!"

Dao Ci looked up at her.

Qi Su: "I was going to scold you for not going to save your beloved little wife, but after we finished eating, I almost forgot about it."

"Okay, go to sleep."

He said he put down the book in his hand.

There was a knocking sound at the door, and a soft voice reminding someone.

"Young master, have you forgotten the New Year's gift you bought for your wife?"

Gift?

Qi Su saw the pile of brocade boxes neatly stacked together in the corner.

The boxes were piled up like someone with OCD.

Arranged according to size and color.

How did you know you were going to buy me a New Year's gift?

Her eyes sparkled, and she couldn't wait to open it.

The man next to her stopped her.

He handed me a book: "If you can't sleep, read a book."

Qi Su pushed him away.

"I want to open my present."

This time, her arm was grabbed.

A light, sandalwood scent lingered around my nose.

The person next to her sighed silently, their dark eyes fixed on her.

"Lingye City isn't very wealthy, and it's New Year's Day today, so there aren't many shops on the streets. We don't need these; we'll buy you new ones when we get back to the capital."

Qi Su looked at him for a moment.

He suddenly burst out laughing.

He wouldn't let her dismantle them because he felt they weren't good enough and didn't suit her.

"It's okay, I like anything you bought."
