Chapter 86 Kiss

Ji Mohan's voice sounded from behind, and Yan Wan stopped in her tracks. She didn't know how to answer Ji Mohan's question.

Should I tell him the truth or lie to him?

Yan Wan, with her back to Ji Mohan, took a deep breath, turned around, looked at Ji Mohan, and said, "Then do you want me to stay with you?"

Ji Mohan's dark eyes reflected Yan Wan's image. He wasn't good at expressing love. Before meeting Yan Wan, no one had ever given him love. He had just blurted out that question because he felt that Yan Wan always seemed very far away from him at certain moments. If he wasn't careful, Yan Wan might disappear and he would never be able to find her again.

Ji Mohan moved his lips, staring intently into Yan Wan's eyes, and said in a hoarse voice, "Yan Wan, I want you to stay with me forever, never to be separated."

Having spent so much time with Yan Wan, his heart, which had been cold and hard at first, has slowly been melted by her. Now, his chest is filled with only a sincere and passionate heart, yearning for a response from his lover.

He didn't know at what moment he fell in love with Yan Wan. Perhaps it was when Yan Wan confessed to him the first time they met, or perhaps it was when Yan Wan was seriously injured but still wouldn't let go of him on the back mountain of Huguo Temple. From the very beginning, he was attracted to Yan Wan, and his heart beat only for Yan Wan from the very beginning.

Yan Wan's eyes welled up with tears after hearing Ji Mohan's words. Ever since she transmigrated into the book, she had been the one chasing after Ji Mohan, but now, her expectations had been met and she had not been disappointed.

Yan Wan felt both happy and sad. She was happy that the two of them were finally going to be together, but she was sad because she wondered if their brief time together was a reward or a punishment. She couldn't bear to see Ji Mohan abandoned again, caught in a dilemma.

Yan Wan didn't answer for a long time. Ji Mohan's eyes went from being full of expectation to slowly dimming. Yan Wan said, "Ji Mohan, if I said I don't know how long I can stay with you, would you believe me?"

Yan Wan still refused to lie to him. She didn't want to disappoint Ji Mohan, nor did she want to miss out on this opportunity.

Without even thinking, Ji Mohan said, "I believe you, Yan Wan. I will always believe in you."

His heart chose to believe Yan Wan, and he also chose to believe Yan Wan.

Yan Wan bit her lip and tentatively asked, "What if, I mean, what if, for some other reason, I can't stay with you for a long time?"

Ji Mohan looked at Yan Wan and asked, word by word, "Will you leave?"

Yan Wan nodded. She didn't know how long she would stay with him. It could be a day, a month, a year, or a lifetime.

Ji Mohan then asked, "Will you go to a very far place?"

Yan Wan thought for a moment. If she were to travel back to the modern world, it would probably be very far away. She nodded again.

Ji Mohan looked at Yan Wan with a dark and unreadable expression, and continued, "Yan Wan, if you go to a faraway place, I will definitely come to find you, until I find you."

Yan Wan raised her hand to wipe away the tears she couldn't hold back, and said in a choked voice, "What if you can't find me?"

Ji Mohan pondered for a moment, then stood up, reached out and patted Yan Wan's head, saying gently, "Yan Wan, if I can't find you, I'll stay in one place and wait for you to come find me, okay?"

Yan Wan was a little dumbfounded. This was not the kind of thing a boy would usually say: "Even if you run to the ends of the earth, I will find you."

Ji Mo Han doesn't look like an idol drama at all!

Yan Wan said angrily, "What if I don't come to find you?"

Ji Mohan paused his hand that was stroking Yan Wan's head, then slowly lowered it, silently clenching it into a fist where Yan Wan couldn't see. He suppressed his possessiveness, afraid of frightening Yan Wan.

He leaned down to be at eye level with Yan Wan, looked into her eyes, and said with a hint of grievance, "Aren't you going to come find me? Are you willing to leave me?"

Looking at the aggrieved Ji Mohan, Yan Wan's hardened heart softened instantly. She avoided Ji Mohan's eyes and stammered, "I...I can't bear to part with him."

Ji Mohan smiled with satisfaction, raised his hand again to pat Yan Wan's head, and said, "Good girl, if you leave in the future, remember to come back to me. Come back to me as soon as possible, okay?"

If Yan Wan doesn't come back to him, or if she doesn't come back for a long time, he doesn't know what he might do; he might even die.

It's not that Yan Wan can't live without him, it's that he's too pitiful; he can't live without Yan Wan, not even for a day.

Yan Wan suddenly remembered that the porridge was still in the pot, and she hurriedly said, "My porridge! I'll come and get it for you. You sit on the bed and wait."

After saying that, Yan Wan hurriedly ran out. Ji Mohan watched her back and called out, "Be careful not to fall."

He stared at Yan Wan's retreating figure with a dark and ambiguous look, a possessive glint in his eyes. He had been lying to Yan Wan all along; he wouldn't let her leave. Even if she did, he would take her with him. Otherwise, he would lock Yan Wan up in the Han Prince's mansion, where she would only see him day and night.

He thought that Yan Wan's departure meant going to another state or country, but little did he know that Yan Wan's departure meant death.

Ji Mohan looked up again, and Yan Wan appeared at the door. She walked to Ji Mohan's bedside, put down the porridge, handed Ji Mohan chopsticks, and gestured for him to eat by himself.

Ji Mohan ignored Yan Wan's gestures. Yan Wan realized that he was doing it on purpose, so she had no choice but to pick up the bowl and feed him bite by bite.

Yan Wan had just thought it through. Even if she eventually returned to the modern world, she hoped that Ji Mohan could live a good life. So, while feeding him, she gently said, "Hanhan, if—and I mean if—one day I disappear, you must eat well, sleep well, and take good care of yourself, okay?"

Ji Mohan looked at Yan Wan without saying a word. He wouldn't agree to things he couldn't do, and he wouldn't let Yan Wan leave. Since she had provoked him, then she might as well provoke him for life.

Yan Wan waited for a long time but didn't hear Ji Mohan speak. She looked at Ji Mohan in confusion, and Ji Mohan said, "Yan Wan, don't say anything about leaving. I don't want to hear it. And I won't let you leave."

After hearing Ji Mohan's words, Yan Wan was stunned for a long time, then nodded gently and changed the subject, asking, "Is the porridge delicious? I added a little bit of sugar to it, did you taste the sweetness?"

Ji Mohan smiled and said, "Try a bite. I didn't taste any sweetness."

Yan Wan felt a little strange. She picked up the spoon and took a small sip. Before she could swallow, her lips were covered by something warm. Ji Mohan sucked on Yan Wan's lips, then pulled away and looked at the panting Yan Wan, saying, "Now you can taste the sweetness. It's very sweet."

Yan Wan blushed and lowered her head. How did Ji Mohan suddenly become so good at this?
