"How dare you! Who are you? How dare you trespass into Consort Xue's palace!" A shrill voice came from the entrance of Luowei Palace.
When Yan Wan opened her eyes again, she saw a eunuch shouting at her. Yan Wan looked around and realized that it was Luowei Palace. The Luowei Palace in front of her was well-maintained and not as dilapidated as she remembered. Yan Wan took a deep breath and thought to herself, it seems that the Reversal Pill is working.
"Hey, you brat, which palace are you from? How dare you not answer my questions!" the eunuch said angrily.
"I've come to see Consort Xue." Yan Wan walked directly towards the main hall.
"Who is Consort Xue? How could someone like you just see her like that!" The old eunuch with the pointed mouth and monkey cheeks hurriedly stepped forward to stop her, but Yan Wan pushed him away. The old eunuch was pushed to the ground and exclaimed, "This brat, she's got a stubborn streak!"
He didn't dare to delay and quickly got up to continue blocking Yan Wan. The commotion outside was too loud and alerted Consort Xue. She glanced outside and Aunt Fang understood her mistress's meaning. She put down the teapot and went out.
"Who's making such a racket in Luowei Palace?" Aunt Fang shouted unhappily, looking at the two people shoving each other in the courtyard.
The old eunuch recognized her as the head maidservant of Consort Xue and said respectfully, "Aunt Fang, this girl insisted on barging in to see Consort Xue. This old servant couldn't stop her!"
Aunt Fang glanced at Yan Wan, frowned, and said, "Miss, whose family are you? Her Majesty is resting right now and it's inconvenient for her to receive guests. Please leave!" After saying that, Aunt Fang turned and walked inside.
Yan Wan seized the opportunity and darted inside. Aunt Fang saw this and shouted, "Help! Help! Someone is trying to harm the Empress!"
Yan Wan rushed into the room and the first thing she saw was Xue Fei sitting in a chair with her eyes closed, looking somewhat similar to Ji Mo Han.
Her skin was as white as snow, and she wore a mint green dress. A blush rose on her cheeks, as beautiful as red and white peach blossoms. There was a hint of heroism between her brows. Her clothes fluttered, and she looked like a fairy from the primordial world, pure and refined, with unparalleled beauty.
Yan Wan slowly walked over, and Xue Fei slowly opened her eyes. She saw a little girl sneaking up to her side. At this moment, Aunt Fang and some people ran in and surrounded Yan Wan. Yan Wan had no choice but to explain, "I really came to see Consort Xue. I'm not a bad person. If I were a bad person, I would have done bad things long ago."
"Shut up! Do you think bad people have the word 'bad' written on their faces?" Aunt Fang shouted angrily.
"Ah Fang, step back. I'll speak with this young lady," Xue Fei said softly.
"Your Highness, what if she is a thief..." Aunt Fang said worriedly.
"It's alright, Afang, you can step back now." Xuefei shook her head as she looked at Yan Wan, whose eyes were clear and innocent. How could a thief have such clean eyes?
"Your Highness, I'm right outside the door. Please call me anytime if you need anything." Aunt Fang glared at Yan Wan before leaving.
Xuefei smiled as she looked at Yan Wan, who was glaring back, and said, "Little girl, come and sit down."
Yan Wan happily walked over and sat down. She curiously looked at the gentle Xue Fei, finding it hard to believe that such a person could be an assassin.
"Whose daughter are you, and what brings you to Luowei Palace to see me?" Consort Xue asked, looking at the young girl who was sizing her up.
"My name is Yan Wan, and I am your daughter-in-law," Yan Wan said directly.
Xuefei frowned, seemingly puzzled, then suddenly understood and said, "You like Han'er?"
"Yes, but I really am your daughter-in-law. I came back from more than ten years in the future, and I will marry Ji Mohan in the future," Yan Wan said sincerely.
Xuefei, however, thought it was a joke from the little girl and said with a smile, "How is Han'er doing now, more than ten years later?"
“No, he’s all alone. No one loves him, and no one is there for him,” Yan Wan replied truthfully.
Xuefei paused in her tea-pouring motion, and Yan Wan continued, "They all treat him badly. They say he's a living Yama, cold-blooded, ruthless, and a complete madman. Aunt Fang said you hate him too, that you don't like him." Yan Wan stared intently at Xuefei as she spoke.
At this moment, Xuefei put down the teapot in her hand and said with a smile, "I'm happy if he's not doing well."
Yan Wan said in disbelief, "Why? You are his mother, what did he do wrong to make you hate him so much?"
"He's a bastard! If it weren't for him, I could have married Meng Hao. His existence is a mistake!" Xue Fei shouted maniacally.
“But you married the King of Yin, and he had no right to choose. You gave birth to him but didn’t love him. You don’t resent the Emperor of Yin for his infidelity, and you don’t hate Meng Hao for his heartlessness. Instead, you hate a child who doesn’t understand anything. What kind of logic is that!” Yan Wan said indignantly.
"Meng Hao clearly said he would marry me, but I got pregnant with Ji Mofeng's child. Because of this bastard, he abandoned me." Xue Fei said angrily, her face contorted with rage, showing no trace of her previous stunning beauty.
"Then why did you choose to marry Ji Mofeng? Why didn't you marry Meng Hao, whom you love? Because you're an assassin, aren't you? Meng Hao told you that as long as you marry Ji Mofeng and then kill him, Meng Hao will marry you, right?" Yan Wan said sarcastically. She really regretted coming here. How could an assassin be so stupid?
Xuefei looked at Yan Wan in surprise, seemingly asking how she knew, but she quickly composed herself and said, "Yes, so what? If I'm not happy, he can't be happy either. He ruined my happiness, so he should also live in pain. Isn't that fair?"
Yan Wan exhaled a breath of stale air and said sarcastically, "Your Highness, Consort Xue, you are truly foolish. Just because you are unhappy doesn't mean he is unhappy. Ji Mohan has me by his side, but what about you? Who will be with you? Who will care about you? Ji Mofeng loves his Empress, and Meng Hao doesn't want to like you either. You are the only one who is alone, someone no one loves."
"Shut up! Shut up!" Consort Xue shouted hysterically.
"You're nothing but a pitiful person. As an assassin, you've suffered so much, yet you're so love-struck that you still believe in such an illusory love. Meng Hao, the prince of Meng Kingdom, how could he possibly like a lowly assassin? Consort Xue, are you humiliating yourself, or are you just deceiving yourself and refusing to believe it? Or are you simply unwilling to face reality?" Yan Wan continued.
Xuefei's expression was numb, and her hair was disheveled. She looked like a madwoman, not at all like a palace concubine. She had known all along that Meng Hao was just using her, but she just refused to admit it and blamed all the sins on her own child, because only her own child was easier to control, wasn't he?
"How I discipline my son is none of your business, you little brat. Just because he's my son, he deserves all of this. He's deserving of it all." Consort Xue's personality had become twisted, and her mind had become paranoid and insane.
Looking at her like this, Yan Wan knew it was pointless to say anything more; you can't wake someone who's pretending to be asleep. However, Yan Wan still said, "Heh, Consort Xue, you really are a pitiful and pathetic fool. It seems your suffering is worthy of your end."
Xuefei stared at Yan Wan with bloodshot eyes and said, "Didn't you just say he wasn't doing well either? That's right, he doesn't deserve anyone's affection, he doesn't deserve anything. Do you know where his name comes from? Han, hahaha, the Han of 'heart-chilling'."
"He has me, that's enough. The palace is cold and desolate. Consort Xue, live a lonely life by yourself! You are not worthy to be his mother."
You don't deserve his painstaking efforts to avenge you.
After Yan Wan finished speaking, she turned and left, with Xue Fei's angry roar still echoing behind her, "How can he deserve love? He should lose his love forever and be all alone. It's only fair that he suffers as much as I do. What right does he have? What right does he have!"
There's always a reason why someone is pitiful. Yan Wan shook her head, sighed, and left.
