Chapter 107 Reward: Thunder and Rain

Beep beep beep

A system's electronic voice rang in Yan Wan's mind, "Hello, host, we've finally met."

Yan Wan paused as she raised her hand to apply her eyebrows. She realized that the system was becoming more and more human-like. Yan Wan raised an eyebrow and said, "You haven't appeared in a long time."

"Sorry, host, I've been upgrading the program recently, so it hasn't appeared," the system explained slowly.

"It's okay, I was just worried about you, so I asked." Yan Wan said gently. She felt that the system gave her a familiar feeling, but she couldn't quite put her finger on why.

"Thank you for your concern, host. I'm here to congratulate you. Congratulations on successfully reaching the Northwest and completing the mission." The system's electronic voice carried a hint of joy.

"I almost forgot about completing the mission if you hadn't mentioned it. I've been too busy lately," Yan Wan said dejectedly. Since her unpleasant parting with Ji Mohan that night, she had originally planned to go see Ji Mohan the next day, but she needed to handle many matters related to Jing Xi's shop opening, and she and Ji Mohan hadn't seen each other for four or five days.

"Host, don't be sad. The system has detected that you are feeling down. Hurry up and draw a prize," the system continued.

After she finished speaking, a huge spinning wheel appeared in front of Yan Wan, with all sorts of rewards on it, which dazzled her.

Yan Wan clasped her hands together and prayed sincerely, hoping that God would bless her and let her draw what she wanted.

She gently tapped the center of the turntable, and the huge disc began to spin rapidly before gradually slowing down, the pointer stopping at a single mark.

Yan Wan felt the spinning wheel stop. She looked down, feeling a little nervous, afraid that she hadn't drawn what she wanted.

"Congratulations, host. Please check your rewards," the system notification indicated.

Yan Wan took a deep breath, looked up and saw that the reward was "Thunder and Rain". Yan Wan tilted her head in confusion and asked, "What does this mean?"

Yan Wan sighed, "Why are the things the system draws so strange?"

"Congratulations, host, you have won the reward Thunderous Rain. You can use the Thunderous Rain to bring rain once, which will last for one day. Please make good use of this reward," the system explained.

Yan Wan's mouth dropped open in surprise. With this, could the drought in the Northwest end sooner? Yan Wan wanted to shout with excitement; it was as if even the heavens were helping her.

"Thank you, system, this reward is wonderful!" Yan Wan said gratefully.

"You're welcome, host. This is what the system should do. If there are no further problems, then the system will take its leave," the system said.

Yan Wan thought for a moment, then finally voiced her doubts: "System, have you been a system since birth? I'm sorry, my question might be a little silly, but can you understand what I mean?" Yan Wan said, her words seemingly disjointed.

The system remained silent for a long time before saying, "Host, the system has always been the system."

Yan Wan said somewhat disappointedly, "I feel like I know you a lot, like one of my friends."

"Yes, I'm sorry, host. I didn't do it," the system apologized.

Yan Wan took a deep breath and said, "It's okay, you're my friend too. After all, you've been with me the longest in this unfamiliar world."

“Friend, friend,” the system repeated.

“Yes, we are friends,” Yan Wan repeated.

"We are friends," the system's voice said with a hint of elation.

——

"Alright, Uncle Li, you don't need to see me off anymore, and don't worry about me," Qin Si said helplessly.

Li Guang, still worried, continued to follow him. He had promised to escort him safely out of the city, and they had already gone almost two miles out of the city!

"Young Master, I'm still worried about you. Why don't I come with you?" Li Guang said with some reluctance.

"Hey Uncle Li, hurry back. Don't you want your hot pot restaurant anymore? I'll be back soon, in a month, okay? I'll be back in a month." Qin Si waved to Li Guang.

Li Guang still looked at him with worry. Although this child was his young master, he had grown up with a group of grown men since childhood, and their bond was stronger than blood ties. The child had been with him since he was little, and he never expected that he would grow up so fast. Li Guang felt a pang of emotion. If the Empress were still alive, she would be very gratified to see her young master.

"Uncle Li, let's go back." Qin Si walked a long way, then turned around and saw Li Guang still standing there looking at him. He cupped his hands into a megaphone and shouted loudly.

Li Guang waved to him, raised his sleeve to wipe away his tears. The child had grown up, and they, the old folks, couldn't stay with him forever. He still had to walk the rest of the road.

"Uncle Li, I'm leaving now. Be careful on your way back. I'll be back soon," Qin Si called out with a smile. Uncle Li was always so sentimental, which made him feel a little sad too.

He was driven out of the Moon Kingdom when he was young. Uncle Li and the others abandoned their own homes and followed him out of the Moon Kingdom without complaint. They scurried into the mountains and forests like rats and were falsely accused. He thought that after a while, they would resent and hate him. If it weren't for him, they wouldn't have been separated from their families for so long. But Uncle Li and the others treated him like their own children. The better they treated him, the more uncomfortable he felt.

This time, he will return to the Moon Kingdom to reclaim everything that belongs to him.

Qin Si gazed in the direction of the Moon Kingdom and strode forward; he would no longer run away.

Mother, Si'er is back. Tingting, your brother is back. He will never leave you again.

——

"Your Highness Meng Shang, a letter from the Yin Kingdom." The messenger knelt respectfully on the ground.

The Mongolian merchant lay on a soft couch, with two graceful women beside him. One was feeding him wine, and the other was gently feeding him grapes from a fruit platter.

The Mongolian merchant slightly raised his eyes, waved his hand, and the two beauties beside him tactfully withdrew. He gently beckoned with his finger, and the messenger, seeing this, knelt forward and handed him the letter in his hand.

The Mongolian merchant casually picked up the letter and glanced at it. Then, he stood up, smiled, and said, "Finally, the show is about to begin."

It seems he's going to the Yin Kingdom to lend him a hand.

The Mongolian merchant looked at the messenger kneeling below and said, "Step down."

"Yes." The messenger walked out shakily.

"Chase the Wind," the Meng merchant called out to the upright guard standing beside him.

"Your subordinate is here." Zhu Feng placed his right hand on his left shoulder and bowed respectfully.

"Let's go. We're going to the Yin Kingdom. You go pack your things first, we'll leave tonight," the Meng merchant said with great interest; he had been looking forward to this for a long time.

"Yes, Your Highness, I will go and prepare immediately." Zhu Feng withdrew.

"Hmm, Ji Mohan, we're about to meet. I heard you married a princess; I must take a good look at her," Meng Shang said excitedly.

He and the King of Yin were both rivals and respected, powerful figures. If it weren't for Ji Mohan, he would have long since routed those useless people from Yin.

What a pity.
