Chapter 83 [VIP]

Chapter 83 [VIP]

Chapter Summary: Acquaintance.

A white inner lining, a dark green gradient outer robe, and a layer of black gauze over the outer robe—the material was unknown, but it looked very expensive. The gauze was embroidered with silver-threaded spider lilies. The belt was wide, adorned with crisscrossing chains and tassels. Silver-white hair fell over the outer robe, and his skin had a sickly pallor. He stood with his arms crossed, looking at her with a half-smile.

When Yu Jing heard him call her Sheng Hua, she was mostly sober and stared at him in astonishment. This...this was clearly Su Siyang's face! But his attire was completely different from Su Siyang's. Having grown accustomed to Su Siyang's serious demeanor, his flamboyant appearance, though still handsome, felt somewhat strange.

In just a moment, Yu Jing came to his senses and chuckled awkwardly, "This fellow immortal must have mistaken me for someone else."

As Yu Jing was about to stand up and leave, a hand suddenly appeared in front of her, and Su Siyang blocked her way.

"Even if I'm burned to ashes, I won't mistake you." Qianhe's voice was soft, and Yu Jing couldn't discern the meaning in his tone.

Yu Jing turned her head to look at Su Siyang, swallowed hard, and tentatively asked, "This humble immortal seems to have never seen this fellow immortal before? May I ask which palace you belong to, and what your name is?"

"Guangqin Palace, Chujiang Hall, and the Crane."

Before she could finish speaking, Yu Jing felt her legs go weak and she lost her balance, instinctively grabbing onto a nearby pillar. Although she had never seen any demons, she had heard of Guangqin Palace, Chujiang Hall, and the name Qianhe.

“Then the young prince must have really mistaken me for someone else. I’ve never seen the young prince before, nor have I ever heard of Sheng Hua,” Yu Jing said sincerely. Anyway, those who return to Heaven after their tribulations all drink the immortal water of the Supreme Lord Laozi. Qian He wasn’t from Heaven, so he naturally didn’t know whether she had drunk it or not. As long as she insisted, he couldn’t do anything about it.

Qianhe chuckled softly, took two steps to Yu Jing, and said to her seriously with a smile in her eyes, "If you really didn't know me, then the look you gave me at the beginning should have been one of doubt. But the look in your eyes just now was full of astonishment. Who would believe you if you said you didn't know me?"

Yu Jing was momentarily deflated, knowing he couldn't fool him anymore, and asked, "Those who return from their tribulations in Heaven drink the immortal water of Laozi. I've heard that those who return from their tribulations in the Demon Realm also drink Meng Po's soup, don't they? What about you, Little Prince?"

Upon hearing Yu Jing's words, Qianhe's expression became somewhat subtle. She tilted her head and said, "Why do you, little immortal, know so much? Don't you remember the affairs of the mortal world as well?"

"I..." Yu Jing was too lazy to talk to him anymore, thinking of slipping away while he wasn't paying attention, but unexpectedly Qian He discovered her. Yu Jing's spellcasting was interrupted, and she smiled apologetically at Qian He.

"You've only asked me, but you haven't even given your name yet?" Qianhe asked Yu Jing with interest, tugging at her sleeve.

"Little fairy, I am Yu Jing from the Marriage Palace." Yu Jing gave his name somewhat listlessly.

"Your Majesty, this is the place where guests rest in the manor. White signs indicate entry, while red signs indicate that someone is inside," the attendant explained to Xie Xuan as he led the way.

I chatted with them casually for a while before coming out of the main hall. They wouldn't feel comfortable with him there, so they might as well come out and get some fresh air.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw two figures under the opposite corridor. Seeing their intimate behavior, he initially didn't intend to pry into their private affairs, but the sight of their fair skin made his heart tremble.

The attendant took two steps, then turned around when he saw that Xie Xuan had not followed. Xie Xuan was standing sideways, looking down at the opposite corridor.

When Xie Xuan finally saw who was standing opposite Yu Jing, his breathing quickened. Seeing Xie Xuan staring intently, Mu Qing added, "Your Majesty, should we summon Fairy Yu Jing over?"

"No need," Xie Xuan replied, then calmly instructed, "You may all leave now."

"yes."

Mu Qing and the servant acknowledged and withdrew. Before leaving, Mu Qing glanced at Xie Xuan with a strange look. He now felt something was amiss. Perhaps Xie Xuan hadn't sought out Yu Jing to settle accounts, but if not accounts, what else could it be?

"I was merely sent down to the mortal realm on orders. Sheng Hua had already perished by then. Little Prince, I didn't mean to deceive you, I swear." Yu Jing explained to Qian He after stating his name.

“No wonder,” Qianhe said thoughtfully.

"Huh?" Yu Jing looked at Qian He in surprise. "What?"

"No wonder Sheng Hua changed completely later on."

Upon hearing this, Yu Jing smiled at him somewhat guiltily, "So, Your Highness, you've mistaken me for someone else. I'm not Sheng Hua."

"You're the one who hurt me, how could I admit I was wrong? You're the one who's right." Qianhe asked with a smile, and Yu Jing felt a chill in her heart when she saw that smile. She had thought Qianhe had come to find her lover, but it turned out he had come to settle scores. However, perhaps because she had spent some time with him in the mortal realm, she wasn't afraid at all.

Qianhe heard the footsteps behind her first, turned around, and saw Xie Xuan. The moment she saw Xie Xuan, Qianhe raised an eyebrow and glanced at Yu Jing beside her: "I didn't expect it to be an old friend."

Qianhe was much taller than Yu Jing. Yu Jing reached out and tugged at Qianhe's sleeve, whispering to him, "The Heavenly Lord drank the immortal water of Laozi, and now he doesn't remember anything about the mortal world."

Qianhe lowered his eyes, looking thoughtful. When he looked up at Xie Xuan again, his left eye reddened slightly as if he had seen something clearly. Then, he revealed a subtle smile. Xie Xuan saw his eyes and immediately understood.

"This humble fairy greets Your Majesty." Upon seeing Xie Xuan, Yu Jing felt as if a little rabbit was pounding inside her, and her palms were sweating. Even though she knew he no longer recognized her, she was inexplicably nervous.

Seeing that Qianhe was still in a daze, he whispered a reminder to Qianhe: "Little Prince."

"Greetings, Your Majesty." Qianhe casually gave Xie Xuan a demonic salute.

Xie Xuan watched their actions, feeling somewhat uneasy as he casually stroked the jade pendant at his waist. A bittersweet feeling welled up inside him.

"No need for such formalities," Xie Xuan said.

Yu Jing and Qian He straightened up, and Yu Jing couldn't help but look at Xie Xuan. This was the first time she had stood so close to Xie Xuan face to face since returning to the Heavenly Court as Yu Jing. Apart from their appearances, the Heavenly Emperor gave Yu Jing a completely different feeling from Xie Xuan. Although he was now the Heavenly Emperor, what still lingered in Yu Jing's mind was his miserable state in the Heavenly Prison.

"Yu Jing!" Upon hearing the voice, Yu Jing looked behind Xie Xuan and saw Li'er holding a bowl of hangover soup, looking at her with a surprised expression. Hearing Li'er call her name, Yu Jing felt a huge weight lifted off her shoulders and let out a long sigh of relief.

"Your Majesty, Your Highness, I must take my leave now." After saying this, Yu Jing didn't wait for their reply and ran towards Li'er without looking back. Then, she grabbed Li'er, made a hand seal, and disappeared into the corridor in an instant.

Qianhe couldn't help but laugh when she saw Yu Jing's appearance. Then she looked up at Xie Xuan and said, "It's been a long time, Lord Xie."

"It's been a while since we last met. How have you been doing in the mortal realm?" Xie Xuan knew he had seen through him, so there was no need to pretend to be stupid and he asked directly.

This question struck a nerve with Qianhe. He had learned of Shenghua's suicide and seen the red agate earring on his desk. After her death, the mere thought of Shenghua brought him unbearable heartache. Every day was torture for him. He had considered following her, but the thought that she had died for Xie Xuan made him feel unwilling.

Qianhe's expression darkened, and she changed the subject, saying, "Your Majesty clearly remembers everything, so why pretend you don't remember anything?"

Xie Xuan didn't respond, not wanting to say anything more, and turned to leave. Qian He watched Xie Xuan's retreating figure, her words sharp: "Is she afraid that she likes Xie Xuan, not the Emperor?"

Xie Xuan paused slightly, but did not turn around: "What's it to you?"

“It just so happens that my father has recently been looking for a wife for me. I think this little fairy is innocent, lively and cute, and very pleasing. If Your Majesty is not interested in her, then it would be good for her to be my imperial concubine.”

Xie Xuan turned around, looked coldly at Qian He, and asked in return, "Isn't Sheng Hua the one you like?"

"She is a mortal, and there is no future for her with other mortals. But Yu Jing is different." Qian He said this with extreme provocation, after all, their feud began when they were undergoing tribulations in the mortal realm.

Xie Xuan glanced at him and said calmly, "If you want to marry her, you have to ask her if she agrees."

Qianhe squinted and replied, "No need for Your Majesty to trouble yourself with that."

Xie Xuan felt inexplicably irritated by him, turned around, made a hand seal, and left.

Yu Jing took Li'er back to the place where they had been drinking. The surrounding area was full of immortals and people with magic, so it was nothing unusual.

Li'er was still holding the hangover soup, but she didn't have time to pay attention to that right now. She hurriedly asked Yu Jing in a low voice, "What's going on? I've only been gone for a short while, how come His Majesty is here too? And there's another man who looks like he's from another race."

Yu Jing patted her chest with lingering fear and replied somewhat dejectedly, "I didn't know why Your Majesty came. That man from another race is the little prince of the Demon Clan."

"Didn't I tell you before that I went to the mortal realm to undergo tribulation, and the original owner of this body had a lover?"

"No way!" Before Yu Jing could finish speaking, Li'er covered her mouth with one hand in surprise, staring at Yu Jing with wide eyes full of astonishment.

Yu Jing nodded solemnly.

"What a coincidence!" Li'er exclaimed softly. Then, as if remembering something, she asked, "But I've heard that demons who return from their tribulations drink Meng Po's special soup to forget their mortal past. Why didn't he?"

Yu Jing shook her head: "I don't know why either."

Li'er blinked and handed the hangover soup to Yu Jing, who looked at Li'er with a blank expression.

"Drink the hangover soup and rest for a while. I'll find out. I guarantee you'll know when you wake up."

Looking at Li'er's appearance, Yu Jing couldn't help but lower her head and chuckle, then replied, "Okay."
