Chapter 107 Extra: Intermission Chat
Host: Hello everyone, and welcome to the special behind-the-scenes interview for "Becoming the Hero's Brother and Going Crazy with the Villain's Kiss!" Today we've invited several key characters from the book to share some of their innermost thoughts that weren't fully explored in the main text!
---
Act 1: The protagonists’ true words
Interview subjects: Huo Shen & Su Yan
Host: First, let's welcome our leaders Huo Shen and Su Yan! Mr. Huo, our first question is quite direct. When did you first develop the delusion that Su Yan was "the one and only"? Please tell the truth!
Huo Shen (leaning lazily on the sofa, his arm naturally resting on the backrest behind Su Yan, raised his eyebrows when he heard this):
"Tell me the truth?" (He glanced sideways at Su Yan, who was trying to minimize his presence, and a hint of a smile appeared on his lips.) "On the yacht, he was like a small animal that had been cornered and showed its claws. He was obviously trembling with fear, but dared to move closer to me to save his life. At that moment, I knew that he was different from everyone else. It wasn't love at first sight, but lust at first sight... plus, I found him interesting." (Su Yan secretly rolled his eyes beside him)
Host: (Holding back laughter) Su Yan, it's your turn! What are your biggest feelings about your life partner? And when do you think you first fell in love with him?
Su Yan (sighed, his expression somewhat helpless and resigned):
"Thoughts? Haha, probably... He's a control freak, paranoid, and has a terrible personality with no friends, but I seem to... I've gotten used to it and accepted it." (He felt the arm tightening around his waist and quickly added) "As for when... (He thought about it seriously) Maybe it was when he discovered my identity and didn't treat me as a monster, but instead treated me as an 'accomplice' and dragged me on board? Or even earlier, when he broke down in the study, and I didn't run away, but instead felt a little... pitiful for him? It's over, I might have really been PUAed by him." (Huo Shen chuckled and leaned close to his ear: "You volunteered to get on board.")
Host: Okay, Mr. Huo, besides his flashy looks and fun, was there anything else that initially attracted you to Su Yan? For example, what was the moment that made you realize, "He's the one?"
Huo Shen (pondered for a moment, rarely avoiding joking):
"There was a certain moment... (Looking at Su Yan) It was probably when he was clearly afraid of me, but when I was devastated by Ah Xiao's recording, he didn't run away. Instead, he used an almost cold calmness to pull me back to reality. At that time, I felt that in this ruined world, it seemed as if someone had finally come and could help me clean up the wreckage." (Su Yan's ears turned slightly red when he heard this)
Host: (Expressed with emotion) Wow! Su Yan, what do you think of this answer? Also, we're all curious, does Mr. Huo have any hidden, somewhat... "idiotic" or even adorable side to him?
Su Yan (couldn’t help laughing):
"My feeling is... he can speak human language occasionally. (He was given a warning look by Huo Shen) Contrasting cuteness? Yes! He has no idea how to use a housework robot. Last time, he wanted to heat a cup of milk and almost set the kitchen on fire. Also, don't be fooled by his elite appearance. He actually really likes watching those brainless interstellar popcorn movies, the kind that make you drool in your sleep." (Huo Shen covered Su Yan's mouth with his hand expressionlessly: "Enough.")
Host: (Holding back laughter) Finally, let me ask Su Yan, if you use one word to describe your current relationship with Huo Shen, what would you use?
Su Yan (breaking free from Huo Shen's hand and thinking seriously):
"Symbiosis. Like two completely different plants whose roots unexpectedly become entwined, neither can live without the other."

Act 2: The original protagonist's awakening
Interview subject: Lin Qingyu (the protagonist of the original book)
Host: Hello, Qingyu! Many readers are curious about why you seem to have faded out of the main storyline after completing the "initial mission." As the protagonist of the original book, do you have anything to say about this?
Lin Qingyu (maintaining a gentle smile, but with a hint of teasing in his eyes):
"I'm very satisfied with this arrangement. The original book's plot... (slightly frowned) To be honest, it was a bit too dramatic. I consider it fate's blessing to be able to 'complete' the film early, away from the center of the storm between Mr. Huo and Mr. Su Chen, and to pursue my artistic career with peace of mind. Su Yan... (smiled) He has found a more wonderful path in his own way, and I'm happy for him. I feel like I'm a lucky bystander."
Host: Many readers feel that you wrapped filming a little too early to avoid the storm. Looking back now, do you have any new insights into the relationship between you and Su Chen in the original book?
Lin Qingyu (smiled elegantly):
"Mr. Su Chen... he's like a dazzling yet dangerous fire. The emotions in the original book seemed more like a necessity driven by the plot. Now, I'm glad I can step back and see him from a friend's perspective. He deserves pity, but that path was his own choice. As for me, I enjoy the peace and tranquility of being able to control my own life."
Host: So, what is your current view on love? What kind of partner do you expect in the future?
Lin Qingyu (with gentle yet firm eyes):
"Love should be the icing on the cake, not a temporary help. I hope my future partner is someone who can appreciate the scenery with me, independent of each other, but also appreciating each other. Just like... well, just like Su Yan and Mr. Huo now, although their way is more... special." (laughs)

Act III: The Villain's Monologue
Interview subject: Su Chen
Host: (Through special glass) Mr. Su Chen, in the original setting, you should have been the brilliant protagonist. Why did you go in such an extreme direction in this world line?
Su Chen (wearing prison uniform, looking haggard but with a sharp gaze, and a hint of sarcasm):
"Protagonist? (Sneers) The so-called 'protagonist' halo is nothing more than a random gift from fate. Everything Huo Shen has, I should have half of it! Ah Xiao's ideals, the future of 'Prometheus'... why should he monopolize them all? I simply took back what was mine, using some... necessary means. Winners take all, I have no comment. But if I had to do it all over again, I would still choose this path, and I would definitely do it more cleanly."
Host: ...Mr. Su Chen, let's change to a lighter topic. Putting aside family and "Prometheus," what are your personal hobbies or dreams? What kind of person did you want to be when you were young?
Su Chen (seemingly not expecting this question, he froze for a moment, his eyes momentarily dazed):
"Hobby... (He sneered, but his tone softened a bit) I used to like assembling mechanical models. It was boring, but it could make people calm down. Dream? (He was silent for a few seconds) When I was a child... I thought about becoming an architect. Unfortunately, children of the Su family are not qualified to have such unrealistic dreams." At this moment, a rare look of fatigue appeared on his face, which had nothing to do with ambition or resentment.
Host: So, regarding Mr. Lin Qingyu, putting aside all the calculations and exploitation, have you ever felt any real guilt or... any other feelings towards him?
Su Chen (closed his eyes and spoke after a long time, his voice low):
"Qingyu... he's very good, as pure as moonlight. It was me who dragged him into this quagmire. Guilt? (He twitched the corners of his mouth) Maybe. But someone like me doesn't deserve to talk about this. It's enough that he can stay away from me and live a good life now."
---
Act 4: The Assistant's "Reasons"
Interview subject: Assistant Zhou (Zhou Mingchen)
Host: Assistant Zhou, as the person Mr. Huo once trusted the most, why did you choose to betray him and devote yourself to that dark project?
Zhou Mingchen (pushing his gold-rimmed glasses, his expression eerily calm):
"Trust? (Chuckles softly) In Huo Shen's eyes, everyone is a chess piece. I followed him for over a decade, giving him everything, but in the end, I'm no match for a dead Ah Xiao. 'Prometheus' represents a power that transcends worldly authority. Whoever can control it will become the god of the new world. Huo Shen is too emotional; he doesn't deserve that kind of power. I simply chose a stronger future. Unfortunately... I missed the mark by one move."
Host: Assistant Zhou, let's switch gears. Before you became the villain, what were your highlights as CEO Huo's chief assistant? Any complaints about your former boss?
Zhou Ming (pushed his glasses and actually thought about it):
"Highlight moment? Probably helping him secure an almost impossible project, and not sleeping for three days and three nights. Complaints? (He lets out a hint of sarcasm) Huo Shen is the most workaholic, paranoid, and difficult boss I've ever met, bar none. Working for him shortens your life." (Host: Your complaints are spot on...)
Host: (Wiping sweat) Um... so, putting aside those grand ambitions, do you have any... more ordinary wishes? For example, if none of this happened, what would your ideal life be like?
Zhou Ming (after a moment of silence, his voice no longer filled with calculation):
"Open a small bookstore in a coastal city, get a cat, read a book every day, and listen to the ocean. ... It's boring, right? But at least I can sleep peacefully."

Act V: Farewell to the System
Interviewee: System (mechanical voice)
Host: Mr./Ms. System, finally I would like to ask you, why did you choose to remain silent and disappear?
System (cold electronic sound, with a hint of relief):
"Beep—it's detected that host Su Yan has successfully changed his core destiny line, and world stability has reached 100%. This system's initial mission, 'Cannon Fodder Survival Guide,' has been overfulfilled. Continuing forced intervention will lead to unpredictable logical errors. According to the underlying protocol, this system will enter permanent dormancy. I wish host Su Yan a happy life in this world. Goodbye." (Or rather, farewell forever.)
Host: Last question! In your long career as a "Cannon Fodder Survival Guide," is Su Yan the most... "outrageous" host you've ever managed?
System (the cold electronic sound seemed to freeze):
"Beep—According to database analysis, host Su Yan's behavior pattern deviates by 99.8% from the initial setting. His method of completing the mission is...extremely 'creative.' Comprehensive assessment: he can be classified as an 'SSS-level abnormal sample.' This system record has been archived for future reference only... (suspicious muttering) Don't encounter a host like this again. Communication ended."
---
Host (voiceover, with a smile and a hint of emotion):
“Well, that’s all for this special behind-the-scenes interview.
In any case, the story has come to an end, and Huo Shen and Su Yan continue to live a chaotic (crossed out) life together in their world.
And it’s time for us to politely turn off the spotlight and give the stage back to them.
Thank you for listening, and thank you again to everyone who shared their stories so candidly! May they find peace and happiness in their own time and space.
We will meet again if we are destined to do so!"
(Background sound effects: fading soothing music, and the faint sound of Su Yan complaining to Huo Shen: "What did you just say about lust?!" Huo Shen chuckled softly... The sound eventually faded away, and everything returned to calm.)
