Chapter 16 His Maintenance

Chapter 16 His Maintenance

The four words "Genting Club" made Su Yan's heart sink to the bottom.

That wasn't the place he was supposed to be. Huo Shen never took him to meet truly important guests. Tonight was so unusual, something must have happened. Did something go wrong with Lin Qingyu? Or had his secret contact with the outside world been exposed?

---

Along the way, Su Yan felt like he was sitting on pins and needles, countless terrifying possibilities flashing through his mind. The neon lights outside the car window were rapidly receding, but they could not illuminate the haze in his heart.

At the entrance to the club, a waiter was already waiting respectfully, leading him through a winding corridor to a private room. As soon as the door opened, the noisy voices and the rich smell of cigarettes and alcohol filled his face.

There were five or six people sitting in the private room, all of them middle-aged men with impressive appearances, accompanied by their beautifully made-up female companions. Huo Shen sat at the main seat, a cigar between his fingers, and was casually listening to the flattering jokes of a bald man next to him. He looked no different than usual, but Su Yan could see at a glance that there was a subtle hint of annoyance hidden in his eyes.

Su Yan's appearance brought a pause to the chatter in the box. Several eyes instantly focused on him, with undisguised scrutiny and curiosity, especially the conspicuous necklace between his collarbones.

"Mr. Huo, who is this?" the bald man asked with a smile, his eyes wandering over Su Yan's face.

Huo Shen didn't answer, but waved at Su Yan and said calmly: "Come here."

Su Yan gritted his teeth and walked to Huo Shen's side amidst everyone's mixed looks, sitting down and trying to reduce his presence as much as possible.

Huo Shen naturally reached out his hand, put his arm around his waist, and introduced him to everyone as if he was showing off a property: "Su Yan." He said nothing more.

But these two words were enough to reveal his identity. Everyone present was a shrewd person and immediately understood what he meant. They stopped staring at him openly, but the occasional glance still made Su Yan feel uneasy.

He was like an exquisite puppet, quietly staying beside Huo Shen, pouring wine for him, listening to them talking about business that he didn't understand, but he was extremely anxious in his heart. Why did Huo Shen bring him here?

After three rounds of drinks, the bald man seemed to be drunk and became bolder. He staggered to Huo Shen with a glass of wine in his hand, with a flattering face: "Mr. Huo, you have good taste! It's rare to see Young Master Su like this... I'll toast you a glass!" As he spoke, his eyes were glued to Su Yan, and he even tried to reach out and pat Su Yan's shoulder.

Su Yan's body stiffened and he subconsciously wanted to hide.

Just before the fat hand was about to touch Su Yan, Huo Shen moved.

He didn't even look at the bald man. He just picked up a heavy glass ashtray on the table and smashed it hard on the hand that was reaching out to Su Yan without any warning!

"Crack!" A crisp sound, accompanied by the bald man's pig-slaughtering scream, resounded throughout the box.

The music stopped, all sounds disappeared, and everyone was stunned by this sudden scene.

The bald man covered his hand, which was instantly red, swollen and bleeding, sweating profusely from the pain, and looked at Huo Shen in horror.

Huo Shen slowly stood up and looked down at him, his eyes as cold as the Siberian wind. His voice was not loud, but it caused the temperature in the entire box to drop sharply:

"You can touch my things?"

He didn't even use a question, but stated it calmly, with an absolute, unquestionable possession and contempt.

The bald man was so frightened that he didn't even dare to cry out in pain. He apologized repeatedly: "Yes, I'm sorry, Mr. Huo! I drank too much! I deserve to die!" The female companion and others next to him were also silent, not daring to make a sound.

Huo Shen ignored him, as if he had just casually swatted a fly. He sat down again, picked up his napkin, and slowly wiped his hands. Then he looked at Su Yan, who was pale and frightened beside him. His tone returned to its previous calmness, even with a subtle hint of... comfort?

"Are you scared?"

Su Yan stared at him, his heart still pounding. He couldn't understand Huo Shen. This man could be furious about a business secret leak one moment, could use him as a stand-in, a toy, and yet in front of outsiders, he would use such extreme means to defend that ridiculous ownership.

This kind of protection did not move people, but only made people feel more terrified and suffocated. Because it further showed that he had completely become Huo Shen's private property in the restricted area, and no one else could covet him, nor could he... escape.

At this moment, Huo Shen's phone screen lit up, and a new message preview flashed. Although Huo Shen quickly turned off the screen, Su Yan still caught a glimpse of the sender - Assistant Zhou. The first few words of the message were:

[Lin Qingyu's side...]
