Chapter 12 Saving the Princess Cursed by the Wicked Witch (12)

Night fell once again, and Yan Li pushed open the door to the third crystal coffin room.

【My dear princess, give up. You cannot escape, and even the warriors cannot save you. Staying in the castle is the only thing you can do for your people. Please do not forget your duty.】

At midnight, a new clue once again led Yan Li into a dream.

Heat was Yan Li's first thought upon waking up.

She sat up, feeling a tickle and dryness in her throat. After opening her mouth and clearing her throat, she suddenly realized that she seemed to be able to control this body.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a note on the bedside table.

"Remember, you must escape the castle, or you will die."

Yan Li frowned slightly, pinched the thin strip of paper in her palm, and crumpled it into small pieces.

A crisp knock sounded at the door, and the butler's voice came in: "Madam, are you awake?"

Yan Li, who wanted to speak but couldn't: ...

Although she didn't know who gave her the hint, she knew that revealing herself rashly would definitely not do her any good.

Before long, Yan Li got up and opened the door, staring at the butler in front of the door, trying to find some clues.

Sometimes she genuinely wondered if she hadn't entered a dream, but rather woken up in a dream created by the castle lord and his steward.

The steward was extremely respectful, completely unlike his arrogant demeanor when they first met: "Madam, the lord wishes to see you. Please come with me."

It's the fifth floor again.

And it was in the same room.

How could there be so many coincidences?

Yan Li tried to clear her throat again, but still couldn't utter a single sentence, not even the simplest "abba aba".

She's probably been muted.

The butler stood at the door without going in. "Madam, please go in. The lord has been waiting for you for a long time."

Yan Li's hand landed on the door, and she pushed it slightly, her gaze sweeping over the layout of the room.

It turned out to be a study?

"Why isn't Ayan coming over yet?" The lord put down his pen, looked directly at Yan Li who was standing at the door looking somewhat helpless, and asked softly.

Upon hearing the familiar address, Yan Li's heart skipped a beat, her expression stiffened slightly, and she stared at the man in front of her who resembled Wen Ze, perhaps even being Wen Ze's lord, trying to discern any flaws.

But as time ticked by, the only flaw she could see was the clearly visible finger marks on his face.

The longer she looked, the more flustered she became.

A whole night has passed, and the mark is still there. Is he planning to settle scores later?

"I was reckless yesterday, please don't be angry with me, Yan, okay?" Seeing that Yan Li hadn't moved for a long time, Wen Ze got up and walked towards Yan Li.

Yan Li: Did she hear that right?

Wen Ze wasn't the cute puppy type, so when Yan Li saw him walking towards her, she subconsciously took a step back, only to bump her back directly into the door.

The butler, who heard a muffled thud outside the door:

Today, not even a fly can fly through this door and disturb the lord.

The flies inside won't be able to get out of the room.

Yan Li took a deep breath, just about to explain in sign language, but as soon as she raised her hand, Wen Ze had already walked up to her.

He gently took Yan Li's hand, held it firmly in his palm, and pulled her into his arms: "Does it hurt?"

Yan Li shook her head, and before she could struggle, Wen Ze picked her up with one hand and carried her to the desk.

Wen Ze did not avoid Yan Li. After sitting down, he directly pulled her onto his lap.

On the desk were many yellow paper documents, and the words on them were crooked, some like tadpoles and some like ants.

Having received systematic education and training, Yan Li naturally recognized him.

Most of the words on those yellow papers were related to the division of property, while a small portion concerned his spouse.

The country she was trading with was the Kingdom of Nadawi, which had appeared in the hints she had received a few days earlier.

"Does Ah Yan remember what he told me before?"

He didn't seem to be waiting for Yan Li's answer, and just kept talking to himself: "You said you would never marry me in this life, but now? Do you regret it?"

"That coward couldn't protect you, and even led you to the point of being forced into a marriage with someone you've never even met."

Wen Ze pulled the signed documents closer together.

He intentionally let her see, let her know, that those relatives she loved who thought they treated her so well were nothing more than that.

For money and for prestige, they easily abandoned her.

Yan Li dared not move again, fearing that she would be implicated in this dream.

But her hand was clearly a step faster than her heart; before she could react, she pushed the documents in front of her directly to the ground.

Did I beg you? What does it matter to you who I marry?

For the first time, Yan Li felt that she had a talent for forming hand seals.

But Wen Ze couldn't bear to watch any longer. He grasped Yan Li's hands once more, his eyes darkening.

“Ah Yan didn’t beg me, I begged Ah Yan.”

"Ah Yan, don't be so cruel. You know how I feel."

Wen Ze couldn't help but stroke Yan Li's face with his other hand, and then slowly lowered his head to kiss her again.

Yan Li reacted quickly by turning her head to the side, while Wen Ze's movements paused noticeably, and then he chuckled.

It was as if he was laughing at himself, or perhaps at how their relationship was no longer what it used to be.

Yan Li dared not move an inch.

She thought again of the crumpled note she had thrown away in the trash can, and thought:
