Chapter 185 Evil Spirits (15)

After Wen Hao finished speaking, Yan Li couldn't help but start to reflect on herself. Had she thought too much about this person? If he really was the murderer, why would he go to such lengths to support her?

But her eyes were covered by Wen Hao's broad palms, so she couldn't see the face of the person in front of her, let alone his expression. She could only tell from his voice that he was in a bad mood.

It's like a taut string that could snap at any moment.

As a ghost, his actions should have been a waste of time, but for some reason, she let him cover her vision.

Wen Hao was terrified of seeing even the slightest hint of wariness, fear, or mockery in Yan Li's eyes. He waited anxiously, hoping for Yan Li to agree to his request.

But for him, the fact that Yan Li was back by his side was enough to satisfy him. The days and nights of the past three years had been too agonizing for him, and he could only numb himself by keeping busy with official business.

I don't know how much time has passed.

In the dimly lit bed, a "good" drifted into Wen Hao's ears, causing his fingers covering Yan Li to tremble, and a sliver of light to pierce through her eyes.

A few strands of Wen Hao's hair fell down, and his face still held a slight blankness, as if he was surprised by Yan Li's answer.

He slowly removed the hand that was covering Yan Li.

Yan Li's gaze was calm and still, without the slightest hint of emotion. She even added, in a very cooperative manner, "I believe you."

...

A human and a ghost sat huddled together on the bed, the atmosphere extremely peaceful.

Yan Li sat behind Wen Hao, reached out and smoothed his hair, tugging at the ends, separating a few strands, and began to braid it into small braids. Then, she asked casually, "You said you investigated for three years, so what did you find out in those three years?"

She carefully observed the movements of her hands.

But his mind had already wandered off to other places.

Wen Hao did not stop Yan Li's little actions. He clenched his fist slightly and remained silent for a moment before saying, "...No."

He did not deceive Yan Li.

The incident happened three years ago. Not only did he fail to find any clues, but the more he investigated, the more he realized that he was the prime suspect.

According to his investigation, no one else but him could poison his Ali.

Wen Hao didn't want to talk about something as embarrassing as what Yan Li had done; he was probably the first person to have his own case traced back to him when investigating a criminal.

If Yan Li just smiled, that would be fine, but he was afraid that the person who had promised to believe him a second ago would start to be wary of him the next.

"Really nothing? You can't find a single suspect?"

Yan Li paused as she finished braiding her hair. Just as she was about to put her hand down, a strand of hair got tangled between her fingers. Before she could react, she pulled it off.

In a split second, she nervously tucked the hair under the blanket beside her, rolled it up, and looked at Wen Hao. Only when she saw that he didn't react did she breathe a sigh of relief.

It seems he didn't notice?

Wen Hao wasn't oblivious; he simply assumed his words had angered Yan Li, and even though his scalp stung from being pulled, he didn't dare utter a sound.

"Today you sent Yan Menghuai to the authorities and imprisoned her. Isn't that because you suspect her?" Yan Li was puzzled, and as she thought about it, her soul seemed to float away.

Just as she was about to float off the bed, her wrist was suddenly grabbed by someone behind her.

Turning around, she saw Wen Hao's ears were red, and he said with a hint of annoyance, "Why are you running? Didn't you say you would believe me?" He hurriedly grabbed Yan Li and pulled her into his arms.

They were afraid that Yan Li would run away.

On their wedding night, after they drank the nuptial wine, Yan Li vomited blood and collapsed. He panicked and didn't even have time to find a doctor for her. He could only watch helplessly as she breathed her last in his arms.

Yan Li stiffened slightly, and explained guiltily, "...I didn't mean to run, I'm just used to floating."

Wen Hao didn't reply.

She simply hugged Yan Li even tighter.

Yan Li: ...

"She was in this room that day too."

Yan Li was stunned again.

It took me a while to realize the meaning behind Wen Hao's words.

Is Yan Menghuai in this room?

The next moment, Yan Li, who had been relatively well-behaved, suddenly began to struggle, grabbing Wen Hao's hand and trying to break free. Even her voice lacked some of its composure: "You're planning to marry two?!"

Wen Hao hadn't expected Yan Li's thought process to be so peculiar; in fact, he was so shocked that he almost let her escape.

He leaned forward, reached out and grabbed the back of her neck, pulling Yan Li, who was facing away from him and about to run off the bed, back once again.

He pressed the back of her head between his legs while lying on his back, and then used his other hand to hold her hands, letting the red thread wrap around them.

Wen Hao lowered his head, then slowly lowered his eyes: "Does Ali really want to hurt me like this?... I suspect she poisoned that wine glass, trying to take your place."

He shared his guess.

To replace her?

It gives me the feeling of someone peddling their wares.

Yan Li's posture at this moment could hardly be described as elegant. Wen Hao was still kneading the back of her neck in his palm, like a kite with a string tied, completely at his mercy.

She doesn't like it.

Thinking this, she offered her bound hands, indicating to the man that she should untie them.

Wen Hao did not move.

He stubbornly waited for Yan Li to give him a word.

Yan Li couldn't hold back and spoke first.

"Are you sure?" Even though Wen Hao said it himself, Yan Li still couldn't believe that Yan Menghuai had poisoned her.

She is not the type to be blinded by a single leaf.

We won't pin everything on Yan Menghuai just because she did some things.
