Chapter 30 Saving the Princess Cursed by the Wicked Witch (30)

"Wen Ze must die."

When another large-scale famine and war broke out, Wenze was pulled out of the woods once again.

This time, public opinion shifted, and opinions varied. After much discussion, only one conclusion was reached: it is better to kill the innocent than to let the guilty go free.

Knowing that the people they sent out couldn't get through the maze in the forest, they once again pinned their hopes on Yan Li.

At the same time, Yan Li has also begun to try to escape the castle.

No one likes a pervert, even if that pervert is good-looking.

As the sun slowly sets in the west, its afterglow gradually fades, and darkness falls, all is silent.

It was late at night.

Under the bright, clear moonlight, everything was laid bare, and Yan Li stepped out of the castle gate as quickly as possible.

As for Wen Ze and the butler, she had them both locked in the room.

However, she believed that with Wen Ze's abilities, getting out of that room shouldn't be too difficult, so she had to hurry.

There was no fog in the woods at night.

As the full moon rose high, it cast long, dark shadows, like demons trying to hold her back. Her shadow grew longer and longer, and her escape speed increased accordingly.

Yan Li has always had a good sense of direction. She looked up at the moon and then at the starry sky to confirm her direction before continuing to run forward.

Suddenly, a muffled sound came from the silent forest, startling the birds, which took flight in a flurry of activity.

Yan Li looked at Que Fu, who was prostrating himself before her, and couldn't help but rub her forehead.

"Ah Li, what are you doing here?"

Que Fu had finally managed to sneak in, intending to inform Yan Li and Wen Ze, but he never expected to run into Yan Li here.

But soon, Que Fu realized what was happening. He scrambled to his feet and asked, "Ah Li, are you trying to escape?"

"I knew you were bewitched by Wen Ze back then."

Que helped Yan Li up and was about to take her hand. "But it's okay, there's still time. We won't be implicated by Wen Ze yet."

Yan Li frowned slightly. "What do you mean? Has something happened outside?"

The two weren't foolish enough to stand still and talk. As they walked out of the woods, Que Fu recounted everything that had happened outside.

Yan Li was startled and subconsciously retorted, "Isn't this just a natural disaster or a man-made calamity?"

For some reason, she suddenly heard Wen Ze's words: "Everyone is afraid of him, and everyone wants him dead."

“Ah Li, but as long as he lives, neither natural disasters nor man-made calamities will stop.”

"Even if it really wasn't him, the person behind it who managed to get the situation to this point must have been after him."

"As long as he lives, there will be no end to it."

Que Fu suddenly stopped, drew a dagger from his waist, and placed it in Yan Li's palm.

"Actually, I am here today on the king's orders to advise you."

“This dagger is made of silver. Only by killing Wen Ze will the people of the world truly let you go.”

"But if you are unwilling, I will accompany you to the ends of the earth and never force you to do anything against your will."

Yan Li's hands trembled slightly, but Que Fu in front of him was much more composed, and he made no attempt to hide his purpose and selfishness.

“I originally thought that Ali also loved Wenze, so I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you that the people sent by the king are ready to cut down the forest.”

"Even if you only cut one tree a day, you'll eventually reach the castle."

"But I didn't expect that you, Ali, would escape."

Que Fu's face was visibly joyful, and the two of them were getting closer and closer to Linkou. Just when he thought he could escape with Yan Li, someone who shouldn't have appeared showed up.

"It seems I will have to disappoint General Que. Thank you for the good news. I will wait for the day when you cut down the forest all the way to my castle."

Yan Li felt as if time had stood still, and her body felt as if it were bound by an invisible rope, unable to move.

She didn't think Wen Ze had just arrived; he might have already arrived when she met Que Fu.

"Since Ali doesn't want to be with you, why force her?"

Que Fu held onto Yan Li's hand tightly, while Wen Ze's gaze was like a knife, fixed on their intertwined hands.

Wen Ze smiled and said, "General Que, you jest. My wife and I had a little argument. What does it have to do with you, an outsider?"

"Does General Que, after all his years, not know that there are four words in the world called 'marital bliss'?"

Que Fu nearly choked on his words. With only ten steps to the exit, his face flushed, he spoke again, "What marital intimacy? I only know that Ali doesn't want it, so you..."

Wen Ze suddenly chuckled, "Then General Que, how can you be so sure she doesn't want to go back with me?"

As he spoke, he reached out and waved to Yan Li.

It's not the kind of trick you use to attract pets, but rather a powerful protective aura, the kind of sense of security that can be conveyed with just a snap of the fingers.

"Going out with him, aren't you afraid he won't be able to protect your life?" Wen Ze's gaze swept towards the edge of the woods. "Do you know how many people are guarding outside?"

"Just waiting for you, you little rabbit, to run into it."

Wen Ze seemed somewhat helpless, but not angry at her escape.

To prove his point, he bent down, picked up a few pebbles, and threw them into the night.

Suddenly, several cries of pain came from outside the woods, followed by shouts of "Assassin! Catch the assassin!"

Yan Li: ...This is the first time I've ever seen a thief cry "stop thief!"
