Chapter 35 Saving the Princess Cursed by the Wicked Witch (35)

“Ah Yan is talking nonsense again.”

"You're just sick. You need to take your medicine properly to get better."

Wen Ze smiled and walked to Yan Li's side, putting down the bowl of medicine in his hand. He reached out, just about to help the person on the bed sit up.

But Yan Li pushed him away instinctively.

In just one moment, it seemed as if all the strength in her body had been exhausted.

Wen Ze showed no anger. He bent slightly at the waist, placing one hand on the back of her neck and the other on her soft, boneless waist.

He thoughtfully propped up the pillow so that Yan Li could lean on it more comfortably, and even tidied the stray hairs on her forehead.

Yan Li was puzzled: "Why?"

She didn't understand why he would do this to her when she had already promised to stay in the castle.

Wen Ze, who was being questioned, showed no sign of nervousness. Instead, he picked up the medicine bowl beside him, scooped out a spoonful of medicine, and held it to Yan Li's lips:

"Ah Yan, be good. Drink your medicine, and then I'll explain everything to you, okay?"

But Yan Li didn't believe Wen Ze's words at this moment. Seeing that he was still trying to force-feed her medicine, she tried to knock the medicine over again, but she couldn't even push away the spoon that was being offered to her mouth.

Yan Li's hand reached under the pillow and grasped the specially made dagger.

The moment she touched the handle, she felt a surge of strength within her, but it was like a final burst of energy before death.

Without hesitation, she drew the dagger and, with lightning speed, pointed the tip at Wen Ze.

"I told you I'm not drinking."

Why did you drug me?

The moment she opened her mouth, Wen Ze poured the medicine down her throat, as if he hadn't seen the knife in her hand.

The medicine was suddenly put in her mouth, and for a moment Yan Li felt that she didn't know whether to swallow it or spit it out.

At this moment, she was having a mental breakdown: Who administers medication like this?!

The medicine in my mouth wasn't bitter, but sweet, as if it contained some kind of nectar.

Wen Ze had already scooped up a second spoonful and held it to her lips again, continuing to ignore the dagger in her hand.

"Is Ah Yan not swallowing because she's waiting for me to feed her in another way?"

He sat on the side of the bed, a hint of amusement in his lowered eyes.

Yan Li shook his head and extended the dagger a little further forward, even to his wrist.

It was as if she intended to slit Wen Ze's wrist if he didn't stop.

She hesitated for too long, yet she still showed no intention of swallowing the medicine completely, as if she were taking poison, testing it little by little.

Seeing this, Wen Ze immediately put the second spoonful of medicine into his mouth, swallowed it in front of her, and then opened his mouth again:

"Can you trust me now?"

"It's not poisonous, and there was no medication added."

“Ah Yan, I will not use such despicable means to keep you here.”

As he spoke, he scooped up another spoonful of medicine and handed it to Yan Li.

Yan Li finally gave in, and the dagger in her hand fell onto the bed as if it had lost all its strength.

Of course, it wasn't because she believed Wen Ze's words.

Instead, she found that the medicine she swallowed did indeed improve her energy and spirits.

Regardless of whether it was a conspiracy he deliberately set up, she was determined to give it a try.

After the last drop of medicine in the bowl was finished, Wen Ze thoughtfully asked, "Does A-Yan want to go for a walk?"

"Lying down for too long is bad for your health."

After putting down the medicine bowl in his hand, Wen Ze put away the dagger and placed it on the counter next to him, then made a move to help Yan Li up.

Upon hearing this, Yan Li no longer refused, but simply nodded somewhat stiffly.

Outside the castle, Wen Ze led Yan Li along the forest path that the king had spotted.

As the saying goes, illness strikes like a landslide. When Yan Li got out of bed, she found that her body was already extremely weak.

She gripped Wenze's hand tightly with one hand, using his strength to keep from falling.

She didn't know how much time had passed, but Yan Li's forehead was covered in a thin layer of sweat. When she looked back, she realized that she had walked less than a hundred meters.

Yan Li was stunned for a while before she came to her senses. After looking up at Wen Ze again, she finally couldn't help but ask, "Shouldn't you explain to me?"

Looking at Yan Li, who was so weak she could barely stand, Wen Ze realized they had reached their limit. Without hesitation, he picked her up and carried her into the castle.

"You just need to know that as long as I'm here, you'll be fine."

Yan Li fell silent: What kind of explanation is this?

She couldn't understand it, and by the time she realized what was happening, Wen Ze had already carried her back to her room.

"I will not let you leave me."

Wen Ze placed Yan Li on the bed and considerately covered her with a blanket before leaving the room again. However, a sentence he inexplicably uttered made her suspicious.

Aside from that escape, what exactly did she do to give Wen Ze the illusion that she would leave?

After the door closed and Wen Ze's figure disappeared from sight, Yan Li propped herself up and got out of bed again. After pausing for a while, she slowly moved towards the door.

When her hand landed on the door and tugged at it twice without any response, Yan Li suddenly realized: she was being held under house arrest!

For the first time, Yan Li felt that her mind was working very slowly, and not just slowly, but incredibly slowly. At this moment, she used all her strength to try to shake the door in front of her.

But the door didn't budge, not even a muffled thud.

Yan Li was so angry she laughed.

Before she could get angry, she felt a strong drowsiness engulf her, and her eyelids felt as heavy as if they weighed a ton.

Even more terrifying than that was the fact that she felt an unusual coldness in her body, as if she had fallen into an icy abyss.
