Chapter 79 The Evil Dragon (02)

As Yan Li was free-falling and accelerating downwards, she seemed to have already seen a bright future beckoning to her.

She had long been fed up with this life where food tasted like chewing wax.

Just thinking about this made Yan Li's lips curl up slightly.

And from the depths of the abyss, the evil dragon once again let out a low roar, as if waiting for its prey to fall into its mouth.

Have a good, hearty meal.

Only the group of people on the shore looked on in astonishment as Yan Li ran and jumped down.

What's going on?

Shouldn't she yell at them a few times?

She should be yelling at them!

How could she jump so recklessly!

The villagers, who hadn't expected Yan Li to be so decisive, felt as if a turbulent storm was churning within them, and they couldn't calm down for a long time.

She even began to wonder if they had mistreated her over the years, which was why she didn't cherish her own life and had no attachment to this world.

No matter how hard they racked their brains, Yan Li had already jumped down, and it was too late for them to ask.

They could only stand one by one on the cliff top, blowing in the cold wind, sighing repeatedly, before slowly turning away.

…*…

I don't know how much time passed.

'Bang—'

Yan Li landed in a pancake-like motion after jumping into the abyss.

Fortunately, she was unharmed.

Unfortunately, it seems she hit someone.

Moreover, the other party seemed to be a living person, the kind that is breathing.

It was pitch black all around, and a cold wind was howling, chilling to the bone. Yan Li asked somewhat guiltily, "Are you alright?"

The person beneath him remained silent for a long time, lying there calmly and serenely, with a sense of nonchalance as if he were already in a coffin.

Could he be dead?

At the bottom of the abyss, it was so dark that you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. She couldn't even see his facial features, let alone the wounds on his body.

Just as she was about to slowly reach out to check if he was still breathing, her wrist was suddenly gripped tightly by a force.

A zombie?

Yan Li subconsciously gasped, then felt relieved:

Thank goodness she didn't die, otherwise her meager merits would probably have been wiped out.

In the darkness, Wen Shanbai's voice was slightly hoarse, as if he hadn't spoken in a long time. His few words were not fluent, "You, who are you?"

"Yan Li".

Yan Li snapped out of her reverie, realizing that this person had been down there for who knows how long and might know something, so she added, "Do you know the whereabouts of the evil dragon?"

Even if he's really going to die, he should still make the most of his last moments.

Perhaps we can even find something of inheritance or something similar.

As she spoke, she looked expectantly at the person in the darkness.

"I can tell you where the dragon is, but in exchange, you need to provide me with some reward."

In a split second, Wen Shanbai made his decision, even grabbing her hand without hesitation, pulling her into his arms, and resting his head on her neck, taking a small breath.

The scent emanating from her was truly captivating to him; no wonder he couldn't help but want to touch her.

Yan Li's pupils contracted slightly: Why does this routine feel so familiar?

She tried to struggle, but found it was no use; the strength of the person beneath her seemed to be on a completely different level.

It seemed that the spiritual power within her body was suppressed after entering this place; otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to land in this posture and crash into him.

As the last immortal in the human realm, doesn't she have any pride?

Hearing his steady, deathly breathing, Yan Li couldn't help but raise her head as high as she could and asked:

"So what kind of compensation do you want?"

It has to be something she can afford to give.

Yan Li had thought it through; if he dared to bring it up, she would just leave.

To her surprise, Wen Shanbai picked her up immediately after hearing this and then walked away in a certain direction without saying a word.

Yan Li instinctively wrapped her arms around the man's neck.

The moment she touched his skin, she suddenly realized that his body was terribly cold, not at all the temperature a normal person should have.

Where are you taking me?

Realizing that things had gone beyond expectations, Yan Li still asked the question, pondering in her heart which of her words had been ambiguous.

As far as the naked eye could see, there seemed to be no light, and in the darkness, it felt as if countless eyes were staring at her, which terrified her.

But at this moment, the man was like a mute, not uttering a word or offering any explanation, but instead tightening his grip on his waist slightly.

If they tighten the belt any further, her bones will either break or be crushed.

Just as Yan Li was about to grab the man's neck to threaten him, a sliver of light suddenly appeared before her eyes.

It appears to be a cave.

Before long, Wen Shanbai carried the person in his arms and went straight inside.

Unlike the endless darkness outside the cave, the inside of the cave is a completely different world.

He piled up jewels in the corner, gleaming with a dazzling light, and as he pulled down a black cloth from the table, a huge luminous pearl was revealed.

Instantly, the entire cave was illuminated, along with the only stone bed inside.

Yan Li felt a sense of unease, but before she could escape from Wen Shanbai's embrace, he put her down.

It was at this moment that she saw the face of the person in front of her clearly.

He had delicate features and wore a gray robe, but his lips were almost colorless, as if he had been tired. You could see a little sweat on his forehead and his breathing was somewhat uneven.
