Chapter 218 Going Out

Jiang Yue's mind was still blank after waking up. Before she could react, she was lifted out of bed by someone.

After a while, she gradually came to her senses and broke free from her drowsiness. "Put me down, I'm not sleepy anymore."

Zhou Ji did as he asked and put her down. She looked at the darkening sky outside the French windows and asked, "Are we going to have dinner now?"

Zhou Ji nodded: "Mm."

Jiang Yue didn't see her son in the office. She had already woken up from her nap. Could it be that he hadn't finished his kindergarten homework yet?

The boy will be six years old after the New Year; he can only be six at most.

There isn't that much homework to do.

Jiang Yue turned her face to look at Zhou Ji again, "Where's our son? Does he have a lot of schoolwork to do?"

She's even more pitiful than her younger brother who has the throne to inherit.

Neither she nor her younger brother had ever experienced such hardship in their childhood. They slept early and woke up late every day, and the tutor did not assign much homework.

Later, when I entered the Imperial Academy, things became a little stricter.

Zhou Ji seemed to be deep in thought. His amber eyes looked like a clear lake refracted by light and shadow, calm and deep. After a while, he said without changing his expression, "I was afraid he would cause trouble at the company, so I had the driver take him home after he finished his homework."

Jiang Yue frowned. She had never seen this child act up before; he was always quiet, obedient, and sensible.

Not annoying at all.

"Will he cause trouble? I've never seen him do that before."

“Hmm, very little.” Zhou Ji thought for a moment, “Besides, children don’t get hungry easily, so it’s better to send him back first.”

Jiang Yue was skeptical but didn't press the matter further.

Even though it was already dark outside, the office buildings in the entire building were still brightly lit, with many workers still working hard at their desks.

The staff on the top floor are all elites who have fought their way through countless battles.

I work like a maniac at the office, practically wearing the word "efficiency" on my forehead. Ideally, I wouldn't need to sleep for 24 hours a day and should dedicate all my time to work.

Today, this group of people couldn't resist getting distracted and slacking off.

He started frequently clicking on anonymous group messages that he had never bothered to waste time or words on before.

The president's wife went into her office and never came out again.

Nearly two hours have passed.

What can you do in the CEO's office for two hours?

Anonymous Old Bitden: [Two hours and eighteen minutes have passed, is it really that boring?]

Anonymous newbie: [I'm so envious! I wish my husband could last two hours and eighteen minutes.]

Anonymous Most Innocent: [(Shocked image) Sister, what are you saying?! There are still many naive recent graduates in this group.]

Anonymous henchman: [The CEO is awesome, great waist and long legs.]

Anonymous newbie: [What's long? Only legs?]

Anonymous henchman: [Sister Chicken, you're crazy, I'm scared.]

It was right at the normal time to leave work, and people were getting restless and talking more.

Jiang Yue was held by Zhou Ji's hand as she walked out of the CEO's office. She could feel the furtive glances from all around her, but she was careful not to be offensive.

The feeling of being spied on quickly disappeared.

Perhaps these professional elites in the company are very ethical and only interested in their work.

This relieved Jiang Yue; she didn't like being stared at with curious and inquisitive eyes.

I stepped out of the office.

Bodyguards followed closely behind in the corridor.

Jiang Yue didn't complain like before when he held her hand; he wanted to hold hers, so she let him.

In late spring and early summer, it's not so cold after dark.

Zhou Ji seemed to have shed his disguise, no longer the upright gentleman he had been before. He was now very polite and serious towards her, never crossing the line, gentle and well-mannered.

After they became a couple, Zhou Ji would often take the initiative to kiss her. Sometimes, while she was talking to him, he would suddenly bend down and kiss her cheek or her lips.

At this moment, Jiang Yue was usually more stunned than shy. Only after she came to her senses did she remember to ask, "Were you listening to me when I was talking to you?"

The man smiled, his eyes sparkling with a flirtatious air, and he hummed in a low, husky voice, "I'm listening."

He looked like a glutton who had just finished a snack and was already full, with a satiated expression, so much so that his words sounded somewhat lazy.

Jiang Yue said, "I don't believe it."

Zhou Ji said gently, "You said you don't want to drink carrot juice anymore, and you don't like eating blueberries, so you asked me not to let Assistant Shen prepare these for you anymore."

Jiang Yue was slightly surprised; he was actually listening.

She gave a muffled "hmm".

Zhou Ji raised his hand and stroked her hair, his slender, pale fingers casually running through her soft, black hair. "It's good for your eyes; you have a bit of night blindness."

Jiang Yue found the carrot juice strange to taste and the blueberries too sour.

Anyway, she doesn't like to eat either of these two fruits that are supposedly good for the eyes.

The problem isn't the carrot juice or the blueberries; the problem is that he always kisses Jiang Yue without warning when she's talking!

Even at the company, he doesn't restrain himself!

Jiang Yue turned her head to the side, tilting her neck back in a beautiful arc: "I won't be coming to your company this month."

Zhou Ji raised his hand and touched her face, unable to resist pinching it twice. His eyes seemed to hold a thousand tender feelings, yet they also seemed to reveal nothing at all.

The man humbly asked, "Why?"

Jiang Yue turned her face away: "Not only this month, but I won't be coming next month either."

After a moment of silence, Zhou Ji said, "Okay, I was wrong."

Jiang Yue's expression softened slightly: "Where did you go wrong?"

Zhou Ji raised his eyebrows, thought seriously, and then shook his head truthfully: "I don't know."

Then the man spoke in a very agreeable and indulgent tone: "If you say there's anything wrong, then it's wrong."

There was no prisoner who confessed more readily than him.

Even if it was a wrongful conviction, he was willing to plead guilty and submit.

Jiang Yue looked at him, her black and white eyes clear: "Are you not convinced?"

Zhou Ji chuckled: "I didn't."

Jiang Yue is like a fist punching cotton; no matter how hard she tries, it has no effect.

However, Zhou Ji's attitude and speed in admitting his mistake caught her off guard, leaving her speechless with no way to express her thoughts.

The two entered the elevator.

We had just gone down one floor when we stopped again.

The elevator doors closed and opened again, and a young woman carrying documents barged in. She was dressed in a well-fitting business suit and seemed quite surprised. She greeted him cautiously, "President Zhou."

Zhao Shuyan then cautiously walked in again.

This is the president's private elevator.

Normally no one else would sit there, not even during rush hour when people use the elevator.

Zhao Shuyan had quite a few things to do. The documents she was holding in her arms were suddenly scattered again. She squatted down and hurriedly picked up the scattered papers on the ground.

He apologized repeatedly.

Zhao Shuyan's heart was in her throat. She seemed to be obsessed with the idea that she was Zhou Ji's destined true love, and that as long as she could get close to him, she would attract his attention.

She didn't get anything else; this terrible encounter only made things worse.

The man pressed the stop button.

The door slowly opened.

Zhou Ji uttered indifferently, "Get out."
