The film begins.
Su Jin watched intently, and Zheng Lin brought her a blanket from the side to cover her up, waiting for her like a personal male servant from beginning to end.
Su Jin has a low threshold for laughter; she started laughing out loud from the fifth minute of the film. Just watching wasn't enough for her, so she dragged Zheng Lin along to guess what would happen next in the plot. Every time they guessed correctly, they laughed even louder.
Zheng Lin watched the movie with her, but most of the time his eyes were on her. He preferred seeing her laughing happily to watching the movie.
She was happy, and he was even happier.
Two hours later, the film ended, and Su Jin and Zheng Lin strolled together in the garden.
Su Jin went to bed early today; she fell asleep within two minutes of her head hitting the pillow.
Zheng Lin, wearing a bathrobe, stood on the balcony making a phone call.
"Is it done?"
Assistant Gao: "It's all done. We can send it over tomorrow for the boss's wife to review. But I feel it's too early to make a will now. Boss, is something wrong?"
Assistant Gao was puzzled when he suddenly received a document from his boss asking him to make a will and to do it as soon as possible.
He once thought his boss was in big trouble.
People who make wills at a young age are usually either terminally ill or contemplating suicide. It's completely abnormal for a normal person to think of making a will!
"Wordy."
"Boss, try to think positively about everything. No matter what happens, you still have a loyal assistant like me. Hang in there. There's no hurdle you can't overcome. It's always good to be alive."
Assistant Gao started talking about nonsense literature, and the second half of his sentence was all nonsense.
Zheng Lin raised an eyebrow, roughly understanding the reason for Assistant Gao's unusual behavior. "I'm in the happiest stage of my life right now. Why are you thinking so much about making a will?"
"I remember you always looked down on making wills."
“People change.” Zheng Lin held his phone, turned to look at Xiao Jin sleeping soundly on the bed, and smiled slightly. “You only have work every day, so you wouldn’t understand.”
This sudden display of wealth caught Assistant Gao off guard, and she even burned her mouth while drinking water.
Before Su Jin got out of bed in the morning, Madam Su brought out a bowl of freshly cooked chicken soup and placed it on the small dining table in her daughter's room.
Su Jin got up, attracted by the fragrance, grabbed her mother's hand, and nestled her face against the back of her hand, saying sweetly, "You must be the best mother in the world."
As she spoke, she kissed her mother's hand.
Mrs. Su pulled her hand away, "You're about to become a mother yourself, yet you still act like a child who never grew up. Get up and drink a few sips before it gets cold."
Although Mrs. Su seemed to complain, she was actually very happy to be so close to her daughter. There are few mothers in the world who don't want to be close to their children.
Su Jin got out of bed in her slippers, picked up the bowl and gulped down the soup. After finishing, she handed the empty bowl to her mother, smiling and showing her two rows of big white teeth. "Mom's soup is still the best. I'll never get tired of it."
Mrs. Su was pleased by her daughter's coaxing and went out with a big smile on her face.
After Madam Su left, Zheng Youguo knocked on the door, carrying a large bag of things. "Little Jin, come and see. This is what I bought at the jewelry banquet yesterday. They are all the most fashionable styles right now."
Zheng Youguo opened several boxes of jewelry inside, revealing a complete set of pink and purple diamond jewelry, including bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and rings.
This color scheme makes your skin look fairer, and the diamonds are dazzling and sparkling.
Any single piece from this series is worth tens of millions, and this whole set is worth at least hundreds of millions.
Receiving such valuable jewelry so early in the morning, Su Jin liked it but dared not accept it.
“Dad, this style is very nice, but I don’t attend banquets or have any other events right now. If you give me the whole set, I won’t have anywhere to wear it.”
Su Jin just wanted to decline Zheng Youguo's offer. The jewelry was too valuable, and she dared not accept it; she would feel guilty if she did.
With her current assets, buying a set of jewelry like this would be an everyday occurrence for her, but it's different when it's a gift from someone else.
She still has her own principles.
Zheng Youguo took out the invitation from the bag he had just taken out and showed it to Su Jin: "There is another jewelry banquet in a few days. Zheng Lin will take you there, and you can wear this to the banquet."
This was a well-prepared and thoughtfully planned move.
I was worried she wouldn't accept the jewelry.
"Okay, then I'll accept it." Su Jin couldn't refuse the old man's kindness any longer.
She planned to give the old man a gift in return. Hearing that he liked antiques, she went to an auction in the afternoon.
When I got there, she didn't even look at the initial price; she just kept raising it.
They eventually bought all the antiques at the auction.
The auctioneers transported all the antiques to the Zheng Family Manor.
Although the maids had been with the Zheng family for a long time, this was the first time they had ever seen so many antiques purchased at once, and they all came out to see what was new.
The condition of each antique clearly indicates its long history.
Even though they didn't know much about antiques, they could tell that this batch of antiques was quite valuable.
Su Jin instructed the maids to put all the antiques in the old man's study.
The butler was coming out of the study when he saw this scene and walked over to Su Jin. As the butler, he naturally knew that the master was buying jewelry, but now the second young mistress had suddenly bought a large number of antiques and was even moving them into the master's study.
What does this mean? It means the second young mistress is returning the gift.
"Second Young Mistress, you're so kind," the housekeeper said. "Master will be very happy to see this. But he'll still say you've gone to too much trouble. This is the first time I've seen such a good relationship between you two."
Zhao Qiyuan stood at a distance watching all this, silently clenching her fists, her long nails digging deep into her palms.
She was also a daughter-in-law in the same family, and even the eldest daughter-in-law, yet the old man never gave her a single piece of jewelry, but he gave Su Jin a whole set of jewelry.
Why is it that everyone, no matter who they are, treats Su Jin so well, yet she can never get what she wants?
Even the men are like that; God gave her men who never came home every night!
The man Su Jin married only had eyes for her, and he revolved around her every day.
Zhao Qiyuan was unwilling to give up. She walked to Su Jin's side and deliberately made conversation: "I heard that the old man gave you a set of jewelry. Can I borrow it to take a look?"
The antiques were still being moved, and Su Jin was standing in a difficult position to walk over: "Okay, but they're in the safe. I'll take them out for you to see later."
Upon hearing that it was in the safe, Zhao Qiyuan had another idea. "No need to trouble your sister-in-law, I'll go get it myself. I'll put it back in the safe after I'm done."
"All right."
What's the password?
"Six sixes."
Zhao Qiyuan: "..." How could there be such a password?
Seeing that she didn't move, Su Jin explained, "It really is six sixes. It's just some jewelry, so there's no need to set a complicated password. I never set passwords before, but this time it's jewelry given to me by the old man, so I set six sixes."
