Chapter 3 A Gentle Kiss

“I doubt you can remember it either. Back in school, you were always last in memorizing things.” Zheng Lin took the documents back. “Fine, I’ll temporarily manage the Wudu Group for you. Once you’re familiar with it, I’ll hand it over to you.”

"You're trying to undermine my real power."

“If you have any objections, you can annul our engagement. I will no longer interfere or control these matters.” Zheng Lin spread his hands and looked at her.

With Su Jin breaking off her engagement with Zheng Lin, she'll have even less chance of getting Zhao Xichen's inheritance.

As Zhao Xichen's cousin, Zheng Lin had entrusted her assets to him. Moreover, he was shrewd; if he didn't want to give away the money in his hands, she wouldn't be able to get it back.

Su Jin patted her chest to catch her breath and continued to smile: "I feel very reassured entrusting the company to someone as outstanding as you."

As an ex-boyfriend, he must have done it on purpose.

Back in high school, when she was with him, he always urged her to study hard.

She relentlessly pursued him back then, and it wasn't easy for her to finally win him over.

What she thought was a sweet romance turned into the beginning of a nightmare. As soon as she entered the school gate, they started checking her recitation.

She likes to drink milk, but he said that drinking too much could cause diabetes, so he told her to drink more water and forbade her from going to bars to drink alcohol.

Old friends meet again, but are unusually hostile.

Su Jin insisted on doing what she was previously forbidden to do, and although she didn't eat much food, she drank her fill of red wine.

Su Jin would offer Zheng Lin a few drinks every now and then, and Zheng Lin could only frown and look at her, wanting to speak several times but stopping himself.

Through the crack in the door, only Su Jin's face and the man's back could be seen.

Zhao Qiyuan walked into the hall, dialed a phone, and paced back and forth, saying, "Mom, do you know who I saw? It was Su Jin. And look at her, having an affair with a man here! My brother's only been dead for a short time, and she's already so brazenly fooling around with some random guy!"

"Okay, I'll send you the address. You hurry up and bring my dad and some other people over to take lots of pictures. Get her on the front page tomorrow, let's see how she still has the nerve to face us!"

She raised her eyes, utterly arrogant.

Half an hour later, Su Jin was slightly tipsy and kept expressing her gratitude to Zheng Lin.

"I toast you, come on."

Su Jindong stood up unsteadily, holding a wine glass in his hand, and went forward to offer a toast.

Zheng Lin frowned and said, "You've had too much to drink. Put down your glass."

"I didn't drink too much, I don't want to get drunk, who can make me drunk? I... I've never been drunk in my life."

Su Jin thought of something funny again, covered her mouth and chuckled to herself, then patted Zheng Lin's shoulder twice, pointed at herself and said, "Ten years ago, I drank by the case. There weren't many people who could outdrink me, not even Song Leilei."

She pouted at him: "But back then, my boyfriend was such a jerk, he wouldn't let me drink."

Like a dog? Zheng Lin's face was tense, radiating a cold aura.

She patted her head, and the world seemed to spin endlessly in Su Jin's eyes.

The cerebellum was overwhelmed by alcohol.

She stared unfocusedly at the man so close to her.

His features were sharply defined, with a perfect profile.

She couldn't resist touching his face.

It feels great to the touch, except that it's a little prickly on the chin.

"What's your name? Tell me. I'm rich. You can have as much as you want. From now on, you'll be with me."

"Really?" Zheng Lin grabbed the small hand that was moving across his face and held it slowly, but his eyes grew colder and colder.

“I recognize you,” Su Jin chuckled. “You’re Zheng Lin. But it doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter who it is, I can support them all. Look how bright those stars are, I can pluck them for you.”

“I don’t need you to pluck stars from the sky for me, what I want…” He smirked, “You’ll find out soon enough.”

"I don't want the stars I picked for you." Su Jin pouted and frowned, then wrapped her arm around his neck. "You can't refuse them. I'm the chairman of the...what kind of company, the Fog...what kind of group. If you don't want them, you're looking down on me!"

“If you can’t drink, then don’t drink so much. I shouldn’t have interfered with you before. I really want to pluck your brain off; it’s useless anyway.” He said, “Sit down first.”

Su Jin hummed in response, his cerebellum a little sluggish. The wine glass in his hand tilted slightly downwards, and the red wine slid down his neck and into his shirt.

Zheng Lin: "..."

He disdainfully lifted the silk scarf from her wrist, making sure the wine glass was away from him.

Take a deep breath and try not to get angry: "Go sit down."

Su Jin obediently sat down in the seat next to him, gazing at the man's perfect jawline in a daze.

Zheng Lin wiped himself down briefly with a towel, and as he put the towel down, he suddenly received a work call.

He sat down, loosened his tie slightly, took out a coin, and twirled it between his fingers. "It's settled then. We'll talk about the rest later. You can handle the rest later..."

Before he could finish speaking, a figure fell straight down.

Instinctively, he reached out and caught her, embracing her soft waist.

I glanced at her and tried to straighten her up, but her upper body was as unsteady as a lump of mud.

Immediately afterwards, something soft hit his jaw.

His heart skipped a beat, and the coin spinning in his finger flew out, bounced against the wall, and made a crisp "clink".

He saw the woman hiccup as she looked up at him with a smile on her lips.

As their eyes met, the person on the phone said, "Why aren't you saying anything, Mr. Zheng? Hello, hello, can you hear me?"

"Um...why are you staring at me like that?" she said, then suddenly covered her mouth and sobbed, "I...I...my mouth hurts."

"That's a woman's voice. Oh, well, I won't bother you any longer. I'll contact you again tomorrow morning." The other party hung up the phone alertly.

When Zheng Lin came to his senses and tried to explain, the phone on the table showed that the call had ended.

"Don't cry." Zheng Lin sighed helplessly.

As a result, those three words, "he," made Su Jin cry even louder and feel even more aggrieved.

She just sat down on the ground, completely drunk and not caring about her image at all.

At that time, she looked to be no more than three years old.

Zheng Lin approached her and squatted down. "Don't cry, or I'll kiss you."

Su Jin immediately bit her lip and began to cry silently.

Zheng Lin: "..." Is she really drunk or not? This woman.

"Good girl." He reached out his large, well-defined hand and gently patted the top of her soft head twice.

Then her crying grew louder.

Zheng Lin kept his word, pressed the back of her head, and lowered his head to kiss her parted lips.

"Mmm." Su Jin unconsciously hummed as her lips were suddenly sealed.

The air was largely plundered, and a faint smell of tobacco filled the air.

Feeling hot all over, she opened her hazy eyes and saw the man's eyelashes trembling slightly with his eyes closed.

She reached out to pluck a single eyelash, but instead touched the surface of her glasses, her fingers sliding across the mirror.

Zheng Lin grabbed her restless little hand and then calmed himself down.

He picked her up and carried her to the sofa.

Su Jin lay down on it, yawned, curled up like a kitten, closed her eyes, and fell asleep.
