Su Jin rubbed her messy hair, sat up against the headboard, and asked lazily, "How much do you want to bet?"
"One billion."
"Okay, I'm coming over now."
"Okay, Chairman Su."
......
Early in the morning, Su Jin felt the hustle and bustle of working people. When she arrived at the company gate, Assistant Wang called her to say that there was a traffic jam and she would be late. She glanced at the message, swiped her card, and waited for the elevator on the first floor.
She has always kept a low profile in the company, and apart from a small number of senior leaders, no one knows what the chairman looks like.
Someone of her status would only attract trouble by flaunting her status, such as being kidnapped and murdered—she wouldn't even dare to think about it.
She has privately bought back all the photos that were previously taken by the media, so she remains very mysterious in public.
Even her Baidu Baike (Baidu Encyclopedia) entry only has one photo of her from behind.
The junior employees waiting for the elevator couldn't help but glance at her a few times when they saw her appearance.
"Is this the new female employee? Looking like that, she must have gotten in through connections."
"I think so too. This outfit makes you look like you're walking the runway for a fashion show. It doesn't look like you're here to work at all."
"I probably spend all of my monthly salary on clothes."
The junior employees chatted amongst themselves, which Su Jin was used to; jealousy was something that could happen anywhere.
The elevator doors opened, and everyone went inside. Su Jin silently glanced at their employee ID badges.
The junior employees immediately sensed something was wrong, covering their employee ID badges. "What are you looking at?"
Su Jin felt that the group should also check people's character when recruiting. Employees are the face of a company. Those who only gossip and hurt others all day long will not have a future anywhere.
She silently noted down their employee numbers and names, then lowered her head and ignored them.
When she reached for the button for the tenth floor, someone blocked her with their body.
Su Jin pulled her hand back. "Please move aside, I want to go to the tenth floor."
The person blocking her said, "The tenth floor? I remember the company only allows us to go up to the first to ninth floors. You're new here, aren't you? No wonder you don't know this; your mind is on other things."
After those people got off the elevator, Su Jin went to the tenth floor alone.
As soon as she came out, she went to the office to get a change of clothes. When she went to the dressing room to change, Assistant Wang finally jogged over.
"Mr. Su, you haven't had breakfast yet, have you? I bought you coffee and whole wheat bread."
"I've sent you a few names. Tell them to go through the resignation process immediately. Also, notify other groups and small companies that they are not allowed to hire these people again." Su Jin said casually as she walked to the door of the chairman's dressing room.
She glanced back at Assistant Wang, took the coffee and bread, and said, "Any other questions? Oh, and thank you for buying me breakfast. You're much more thoughtful than most people."
Assistant Wang scratched his head sheepishly, "This is what I should do as the chairman's assistant."
"I'll give you a raise." Su Jin smiled brightly at Assistant Wang. "Alright, remember to fire those people. I'll change my clothes and rest for a bit. Call me when they arrive with the contracts."
Assistant Wang: "Mhm."
Assistant Wang watched the door close, reluctant to leave immediately. She was increasingly impressed by the fact that their chairman was not only beautiful but also had a wonderful personality.
Most importantly, the chairman can see his hard work. Where can you find such a good boss?
This dressing room is for Su Jin's exclusive use; no one else is allowed to enter normally. There is also a bed inside.
However, she rarely comes to the company; not only is the changing room almost always empty, but the office is also almost always unused.
She put on an eye mask and took a short beauty nap when she suddenly heard several noisy footsteps approaching, followed by the sound of turning the door lock.
Someone outside tried to stop them.
“Sister Gao Wei, this place cannot be used; it’s clearly written.”
“When Chairman Zhao was still alive, I often came to this place. Artists need a place to do their makeup. If you are not selected later, can you take responsibility? You look familiar. You are a newly signed artist of Wudu Entertainment. Your name is Wang Keyi, right? Hehe, I advise you not to meddle in other people’s business.”
"The company has its own rules. You were wrong for not preparing in advance. They put up a sign on the door saying no unauthorized personnel are allowed to enter. Even if you have a lot of experience in the industry, you should still follow the rules on someone else's turf."
"Get out of my way!"
The argument startled Su Jin awake. She sat up in bed, still dazed, and before she could even remove her blindfold, she heard the woman's voice sneer.
"Hehe, so there are people here. Wang Keyi, no wonder you were stopping me from coming in. You haven't been an artist for long, and you're already trying to run a secret relationship like popular idols, even bringing it into your own company. I don't know how your manager is handling you. It seems that Wudu Entertainment is really not that great."
Su Jin took off her blindfold and looked at the three people who had come in.
Gao Wei, Wang Keyi, and Song Leilei.
Today, "Floating World, Gentle Breeze and Dream" also borrowed the venue of the Fog Group to audition for the new female lead.
The opening theme song for this show, oSt, is sung by Wang Keyi. Wang Keyi must be here today to record a song.
Why is Song Leilei here? Has she been signed by Gao Wei?
Su Jin raised an eyebrow at Song Leilei, who nodded slightly. The two didn't speak, but it was as if they had already communicated.
Gao Wei stared incredulously: "It's...it's you."
Wang Keyi's eyes lit up, and he smiled, "Miss Su?"
Gao Wei glanced at the two of them, as if she had figured something out. Her eyes became even more shrewd as she began to calculate her own plans: "Since you've run into me today, I can keep it a secret for you, but only if you become my artist and sign with me. I guarantee that once you get out of here, no one else will know about your secret relationship with Wang Keyi."
Su Jin covered her mouth and yawned: "Then you go and say it, but whether Wudu Entertainment will sue you for spreading rumors is anyone's guess."
“It’s no use denying it. I’ve seen plenty of secret relationships like yours. Being stubborn won’t help. In the end, you’ll ruin your boyfriend’s future,” Gao Wei said with a crooked smile. “That would be a real loss.”
Wang Keyi stood in front of Su Jin, protecting her and saying, "Go ahead, I'm waiting for you to expose me. I'm just a nobody, an unknown artist, you can expose me however you want."
This sounds like it implies a kind of tacit agreement.
Su Jin felt that this young man was still so fearless. Is it true that youth is fearless? She was very optimistic that he could make money for Wudu Entertainment.
She signed him in the hope that he could bring greater profits to the company.
"Say less," Su Jin said to Wang Keyi.
Gao Wei pulled Song Leilei to sit in front of the makeup mirror, took out all the cosmetics, and, ignoring the people around, lectured the newcomer: "You, don't follow their example. The artists I manage are not allowed to date. Once you get the lead role, you can have anything you want."
