Chapter 195: The Truth Comes Out After Drinking

The night was as dark as ink. She recalled every scene that had just happened and felt like she had been slapped hard in the face.

Her mind was filled with that contemptuous look, the light-hearted questioning, and An Caicai's victorious attitude - how could she be willing to accept this?

She stopped by the roadside at the entrance of the village and wiped the tears from her face, as if these tears had stained the last ray of light in her sanity.

From a distance, she caught a glimpse of Zhou Dazhu coming out of the house.

The chubby figure's movements were influenced by alcohol, and every step he took was like stepping on a drum, swaying in a way that made people irritated.

Lin Xiaoya raised a sneer at the corner of her mouth, and an absurd idea gradually took shape in her mind.

Why not take advantage of this idiot?

She walked over slowly.

"Dazhu! Wait."

She called out softly, her tone changing to a coquettish one, deliberately suppressing her anger.

Zhou Dazhu glanced up at her with his drunken eyes and asked vaguely, "Xiaoya, why are you looking for me so late? Aren't you going to sleep?"

She burst out laughing and shook his arm shyly: "Still sleeping, I'm almost bored to death staying at home all day. Let's clink glasses with you and talk about something serious."

Upon hearing this, Zhou Dazhu became energetic and patted her hand, motioning her to come into the house.

The two sat down at the table. Lin Xiaoya poured him a glass of water and handed it to him. Looking at the confused look on the man's face, the disgust in her heart almost overshadowed all her plans.

After a few simple pleasantries, she changed the subject, her eyes a mixture of deep resentment and earnestness: "Dazhu, don't you think Chen Changyuan is... a little too proud of himself?"

Zhou Dazhu was stunned when he heard this. He was probably drunk, but these words still touched his lungs.

He gulped down a mouthful of water, sneered, and patted his knees. "What's that kid so proud of? He just planted a few herbs and made a little money. Does he really think he can become rich and famous? Ridiculous!"

Lin Xiaoya clenched the cup in her hand and sneered in her heart: There is a way.

She let out a mock sigh and whispered, "But look, his medicinal herb base is getting bigger and bigger... Everyone in our village has to listen to him. If he dares to ignore you like this again, will you be willing to accept it?"

Zhou Dazhu was clearly ignited with jealousy. His eyes flushed red, and his tone was filled with anger: "Of course I won't accept this! Who the hell is he? Xiaoya, don't be angry. If I ever find the chance, I'll make him suffer!"

Seeing the time was right, Lin Xiaoya leaned over and lowered her voice, "Isn't the opportunity right in front of us? I heard that the irrigation pipes in his base are particularly critical. If something goes wrong, the losses will be huge."

Zhou Dazhu's eyes lit up when he heard that, and he chuckled a few times with a hint of drunkenness: "Xiaoya, you really..."

Before he could finish his words, he was interrupted by Lin Xiaoya.

"Shh! Dazhu, no one can know it was us who did it."

She whispered into Zhou Dazhu's ear, laughing softly as if comforting a child, "If we do this well, we'll drive Changyuan out of Qingshui Village. Then, who can stop you? Who will disobey you?"

Without much talk, Lin Xiaoya easily turned Zhou Dazhu's jealousy and drunkenness into an action plan.

The night was deep, and the mountains of Qingshui Village were so quiet that only the sounds of wind and insects could be heard. An irrigation pipe hidden by trees quietly meandered between the medicinal fields.

Zhou Dazhu squatted on the ground, shone the flashlight on the ground under his feet, then turned back to Lin Xiaoya and asked softly, "Xiaoya, is this thing here?"

Lin Xiaoya stood not far away, with her arms folded across her chest. She looked up and glanced at the sparse lights on the mountain, and actually smiled with some pride.

"That's right, just do it, don't hesitate. If someone finds out, who can you blame?"

She added considerately, "Remember to use more force and don't make any noise."

Zhou Dazhu narrowed his eyes, grasped a hoe in his hand, and smashed it hard on the pipe.

"I just don't believe that Chen Changyuan can still make the whole village famous!"

The hoe hit the pipe wall hard, and the sound of the plastic cracking and breaking was particularly harsh in the night.

Zhou Dazhui hit the pipe with a hoe, which made the fracture even more severe. Water immediately gushed out of the pipe, turning it into a muddy puddle.

Lin Xiaoya stepped forward to take a look and praised in a low voice: "Not bad, Dazhu, your strength... is really good."

Her voice was playful, like encouragement, but more like a sense of satisfaction at having used him.

Zhou Dazhu patted the mud off his hands and laughed triumphantly: "You know shit! This is what we call using your brain to get things done. See? Tomorrow, a large number of his medicinal herb seedlings will inevitably wither and die. By then, haha..."

He laughed so hard that he couldn't open his eyes, as if he had foreseen Chen Changyuan's embarrassed look.

The two hit it off immediately and moved quickly and efficiently, quietly leaving the scene in a matter of moments.

Lin Xiaoya walked in front, lowered her head to avoid the weeds under her feet, and couldn't help but curl up a sly smile at the corner of her mouth: This is just the beginning, Chen Changyuan, you have come to this day!

The early morning sunlight shines through the thin mist onto the mountain behind Qingshui Village, making the medicinal fields appear scorched yellow.

Chen Changyuan stood at the edge of the field, his face gloomy, his fingers gently scratching the hunting knife at his waist.

Several workers were busy checking the situation, but they couldn't find the source of the problem and their faces were filled with anxiety.

"Brother Changyuan, there seems to be a hole in this irrigation pipe. It's not natural damage, it looks like someone deliberately vandalized it!"

A worker held a broken pipe and carefully handed it to Chen Changyuan.

Chen Changyuan took it and took a look at it, his heart was shocked.

"Late last night, the villagers were able to come to the back mountain..."

He murmured softly, his eyes flickering, as if he had figured out some clue from among a myriad of threads.

He didn't say much, just ordered calmly: "Notify someone to fix the water pipe first. I can't stop the dead seedlings, so I'll go to the herbal medicine company to collect a batch of new seedlings to make up for it."

The workers responded and went to work busily to treat the medicinal herbs in the fields, but Chen Changyuan did not move.

He clenched the broken pipe in his hand and thought about the key point. This was clearly a provocation against his growing base.

There was a hint of danger in his eyes like a wolf. The enemy had bared his fangs, and it was his turn to bite back.

An Caicai walked to the medicinal field with breakfast in her hand. Seeing Chen Changyuan standing there motionless, she asked softly, "What happened?"

Chen Changyuan raised his eyes and saw that it was her, his expression relaxed a little.

"Well, someone tampered with the pipeline. I'm trying to find out. I need to take care of the weather. Caicai, are you willing to help?"

An Caicai didn't hesitate at all, as if she had already prepared for it. "Don't worry, it's just a small matter. I know a few friends in the city. I can ask them to help find out if anyone saw what happened in the village last night. Maybe they missed some clues."
