Chapter 198: Poisoning the Medicine Field

An Caicai seemed unaware of the danger and continued walking slowly, the wooden stick making a slight rustling sound on the ground.

She called out again, "Yellow dog, no one will take care of you if you run away!"

There was a hint of laughter in his voice, as if he was really helpless because of this dog.

The yellow dog circled around her feet twice, then ran out of the medicine field humming.

Zhou Dazhu breathed a sigh of relief and muttered softly, "Looks like he's just passing by. Let's get back to work and don't cause any unnecessary trouble."

He grabbed the plastic bottle and was about to unscrew the lid when the thin man grabbed him and stared at An Caicai's back with a gloomy look: "I'm still worried. This woman is very cunning. Don't let her ruin our business later."

At this moment, Chen Changyuan's hand had already reached into the cloth bag and touched a bottle of inferior pesticide.

He held his breath and quickly poured the liquid in the bottle into the grass beside him, his movements as fast as a ghost.

The pungent smell of medicine filled the air. He frowned, took out a bottle of water that he had prepared long ago from his arms, poured it into the empty bottle, and screwed the lid tightly.

The whole process took only a few seconds, and Zhou Dazhu and the thin man were unaware of it.

He retreated back into the bushes, a sneer on his lips - these two idiots still want to destroy his medicinal field?

dream!

An Caicai's footsteps suddenly stopped. She seemed to have heard something, turned around, and casually glanced at the medicine field.

In the moonlight, her pretty face looked innocent, as if she really didn't notice the people hiding in the dark.

Zhou Dazhu shuddered with fear, nearly dropping the plastic bottle. He quickly lowered his body and cursed, "Did this woman do this on purpose?"

The thin man gritted his teeth, twirled the dagger in his hand, and said viciously, "Why don't I knock her out to save her the trouble!"

Zhou Dazhu hesitated for a moment, then nodded: "Go quickly and come back quickly, don't let anyone see us."

Chen Changyuan's heart tightened and his eyes were as cold as ice.

He quickly figured that if the thin man really took action, he would have to act immediately, but that would expose himself and the persuasiveness of the evidence would be greatly reduced.

Just as he was about to get up, An Caicai suddenly quickened her pace and headed towards the village, muttering, "This dog is so disobedient. I have to tell Old Yuan to take good care of it when I get back."

As her figure gradually faded away, the thin man froze in his place, sheathed his dagger in frustration, and cursed, "She's lucky!"

Zhou Dazhu waved his hand impatiently: "Don't worry about her, get back to work!"

The two men picked up their tools again and were about to start working when they found that the medicine bottle in the cloth bag seemed to be a lot lighter.

Zhou Dazhu frowned, picked up a bottle and shook it, muttering, "Why does this thing feel wrong?"

The thin man leaned over and sniffed it, his face changing: "Damn, it has no smell! Isn't this just plain water?"

The two looked at each other, and frantically checked other bottles, only to find they were all filled with clear water!

Chen Changyuan hid in the bushes, trying hard to suppress his laughter.

These two idiots just realized it now?

Too late!

He took a few steps back silently, ready to evacuate, but heard footsteps again in the distance.

An Caicai actually came back!

She made a circle and came from the path on the other side of the medicinal field, still holding the wooden stick in her hand, but her face was more alert.

She murmured to herself, "This medicinal field always feels uneasy at night. I'd better take another look."

The sound was not loud, but it just happened to reach the ears of Zhou Dazhu and the thin man.

Dazhu was so panicked that he was sweating and yelled hoarsely, "Run! There's definitely something wrong with this woman!"

The thin guy didn't dare to hesitate, picked up his bag and rushed towards the motorcycle.

The two men trembled as they started the engine, and the motorcycle roared into the night, leaving a mess on the ground.

Changyuan breathed a sigh of relief, but his eyes were fixed on Caicai.

She stood by the medicinal field, tapping her palms with the wooden stick from time to time, with a smile on her lips, as if she had planned everything.

A few minutes later, Caicai walked around to the grove in the medicinal field, where Changyuan was already waiting.

He whispered, "Why are you here? It's too dangerous!"

Cai Cai rolled her eyes at him and said angrily, "Isn't it all because of you? I've always felt suspicious about this medicinal field thing, so I sneaked out to check it out at night, and hey, I actually caught these two bastards!"

She paused, her tone softening. "Are you okay? I was scared to death when I saw that skinny guy with a knife!"

Changyuan felt warm in his heart and his gaze lingered on her face for a while.

In the moonlight, her eyes sparkled like stars, with a bit of worry and stubbornness.

He couldn't help but reach out and patted her shoulder gently, saying in a low voice: "I'm fine, but you are so brave!"

Cai Cai was startled by his pat, her face flushed. She quickly turned her head away and muttered softly, "Who told you to keep hiding this from me? If I hadn't come, how would you have managed it all by yourself?"

The two of them looked at each other, and there was something different in the air.

Changyuan coughed and changed the subject: "Dazhu and Lin Xiaoya are trying to sabotage our business. They're probably jealous of our business. I recorded it and changed the medicine. They've lost more than they gain this time, haha!"

Cai Cai's eyes lit up and she clapped her hands in approval, "Beautiful! But we can't just let this go. That bastard Dazhu needs to learn a lesson!"

Changyuan nodded, a fierce look flashing in his eyes. "I have an idea. Now that we have the evidence, we'll find Lao Yuantou and Zhang Mazi tomorrow and tell them about Dazhu's scandal. We also need to find Zhang Qinghai. The county pharmaceutical company can help us stabilize our medicinal fields and expand our business!"

When Cai Cai heard this, she smiled like a little fox: "Count me in! I know a few old ladies in the village. They're so good at talking, tsk tsk, I guarantee Dazhu won't be able to survive in the village!"

The two were discussing when suddenly there was a "Chi-" sound in the distance, like someone blowing a whistle in the night.

Changyuan's face changed, and he quickly squatted down with Caicai, whispering, "Oh no, someone's coming!"

He leaned over to take a look and saw a dark shadow appearing beside the medicinal field, holding something shiny, which was a knife!

Beside the medicinal field, a sneaky black shadow was swaying back and forth, with a cold light flashing in his hand!

Oh my god, a knife!

Changyuan grabbed Caicai and ran into the woods.

Hide well!

Hold your breath!

Keep an eye on him!

The black shadow was wandering around the medicinal field like a poisonous snake, and the knife in its hand looked creepy in the moonlight.

He was muttering to himself, making a buzzing sound like a mosquito, and it sounded very sinister!

Caicai clung tightly to Changyuan, breathing a little, and unconsciously clutched his sleeves.

"Who is this? How dare that bastard Dazhu send someone here?"

There was annoyance in his tone, but his eyes were full of excitement, like a kitten trying to catch a mouse.

Changyuan patted her hands and said, "Shh, don't make any noise!"

His eyes were cold and his hand reached for the dagger at his waist.

Humph, I’ve suffered enough in my previous life. No one can bully me in this life!

"Let's see who it is first."

The two men crouched down and, taking advantage of the cover of the woods, quietly went behind the dark shadow.

The guy didn't seem to notice and was still wandering around the medicinal field, bending down from time to time to look at the ground, as if looking for something.
