Chapter 110: I didn't kill him!

Chapter 110: I didn't kill him!

The ghostly figure was filled with yin energy, and soon, a wisp of yin energy separated and flew towards the southernmost house.

That room was where Fang Yushu lived.

The red candles had gone out. She was wrapped in a quilt, lying on the accountant's chest, whispering sweet nothings.

Looking up, she saw a blurry face reflected in the bronze mirror on the dressing table beside her.

Fang Yushu thought she was seeing things, so she rubbed her eyes and looked at them carefully again.

The face in the bronze mirror was still there, but it was so blurry that only a vague outline could be made out.

Fang Yushu felt something was amiss, so she nudged the person next to her: "Look in that mirror, is there someone there?"

The accountant, Zhao Peng, rubbed his eyes and muttered to himself as he looked up, "How come there's someone here? Are you seeing things?"

The moment he opened his eyes, he was startled by the face reflected in the bronze mirror.

"Oh, there really is one! Who is it?"

Thinking there was someone in the room, Zhao Peng hurriedly got out of bed, lit a red candle, and looked around the room by the light, but found no one else besides the two of them.

He turned his head to look at the bronze mirror again, only to find that the human face was no longer on it.

"We must be too tired and our eyes are playing tricks on us. Let's go to sleep."

Zhao Peng immediately extinguished the red candle, climbed onto the bed, and pulled the person into his arms.

Fang Yushu thought she was seeing things, so she lay on his chest, intending to close her eyes and go to sleep.

The next second, she saw the human face slowly appear on the bronze mirror, and she was so frightened that her face turned pale: "Ah!"

"What's wrong?" Zhao Peng was startled by the scream and quickly sat up, his tone rather unfriendly: "What are you yelling about?"

"Th-that...that!" Fang Yushu's mind was in complete chaos. She pointed at the face and stammered, unable to speak.

Zhao Peng followed her hand and instantly saw the face in the bronze mirror again, which startled him.

He threw back the covers and got out of bed to get the red candle, but then he heard another scream from behind him.

"ah!!!"

"What is it now?" Zhao Peng was startled by the sudden change in his expression, and he turned his head sharply with a fierce look on his face.

Fang Yushu pointed at the bronze mirror with trembling fingers, then buried herself in the blanket in fear, muttering repeatedly, "I didn't do it, I didn't do it."

Zhao Peng thought she was making a fuss over nothing, and while turning his head to look, he started cursing.

But when he saw the face in the mirror, he was instantly terrified, his eyes widening and words stuck in his throat.

This face belonged to none other than Zhao Yuliang, Fang Yushu's deceased husband and the original owner of this inn.

His face was covered in blood, and he glared fiercely at the two of them.

Zhao Peng was trembling, his legs shaking uncontrollably, and he couldn't even run anymore.

As the face drew closer, he immediately covered his face in fright: "Cousin, it wasn't me, it really wasn't me, I didn't do anything, I just..."

Before he finished speaking, a strong smell of urine filled the room.

Zhao Peng looked down and saw that his crotch was dripping wet. He immediately collapsed to the ground, his eyes rolled back, and he fainted.

Fang Yushu heard no sound for a long time. When she opened her eyes, she found that the face in the bronze mirror had disappeared.

She immediately jumped out of bed to check on Zhao Peng, who had fainted.

Upon seeing the person's pale face and the strong stench of urine, I withdrew my hand in disgust.

With such a small amount of courage, she wets her pants when startled.

Fang Yushu ignored him, lit the red candles, and carefully checked the room to make sure the face was gone before letting out a heavy sigh of relief. She then sat down at the dressing table to check if the bronze mirror had been tampered with.

Upon seeing that the bronze mirror was intact and had not been tampered with, he immediately panicked.

Is this a ghost? Looks like I'll have to find a Taoist priest to exorcise it tomorrow.

That dead ghost has been dead for five years, and she still hasn't reincarnated. Why is she still trying to scare her?

This is a death that can't be truly cleansed!

Fang Yushu rubbed her throbbing temples; she knew she couldn't fall asleep anymore.

"If you have figured it out, come find me at midnight tonight."

For some reason, this sentence flashed through her mind.

Fang Yushu instantly recalled the words the girl had spoken during the day. After thinking for a moment, she picked up the clothes beside her, dressed neatly, and walked towards the girl's room.

She stood at the door, hesitated for a long time, and then gently knocked.

I knocked once, and immediately regretted it, intending to turn around and leave.

But the person inside had already heard it, and with a wave of their right hand, the door opened automatically.

"Come in."

Jingwu sat at the table, calmly holding a teacup, and took a small sip of the tea she had just brewed.

She savored it carefully. Hmm, there's been progress; at least it's not bitter anymore.

Then she put down her teacup and looked up at the woman whose forehead was still covered with fine sweat.

"Please sit down."

Upon hearing this, Fang Yushu sat down with an awkward laugh: "The young lady is still awake."

"I’m waiting for you."

Upon hearing this, Fang Yushu was filled with doubt. How did the person in front of her know that she would definitely come?

She smiled awkwardly, and the next second she blurted out, "Miss, what did you mean by what you said during the day?"

Jingwu looked at her, picked up his teacup and took another sip: "What do you think I mean?"

Fang Yushu fell silent, her brows furrowed, not daring to utter the secret in her heart.

"Since you've come to me, you might as well be more honest and say what you have to say." Jing Wu stared straight at her, speaking without any warmth.

Fang Yushu's hands unconsciously tugged at the hem of her skirt, her eyes darting around, her mind in turmoil, unsure whether she should bring up the matter.

Neither of them spoke, and the room was very quiet.

In the end, Fang Yushu made the decision, sighed deeply, and decided to go all out: "What did you mean by the Qixi Festival five years ago? Do you know anything about it?"

Jingwu looked into her eyes and chuckled softly, "It seems your husband has come looking for you."

Fang Yushu immediately looked up at her: "Does the young lady know my husband?"

She blurted it out, her face filled with panic, and then she immediately grabbed the hem of her clothes.

"Young lady, you asked me to come to you now, so you must know how to resolve this matter, right?"

Jingwu pulled back his robe and sneered, "You and the accountant conspired to kill him and then buried his body in the vegetable garden. He was already full of resentment, and you even listened to others and set up a formation in that vegetable garden to prevent him from reincarnating, causing his yin energy to surge."

"No, no, I didn't kill him," Fang Yushu immediately said. "I just, I just tapped him lightly with a chair. I really didn't expect him to die! Besides, it was that master who told me that this formation would be beneficial for his reincarnation, so I agreed!"
