Chapter 153: Changing Fates
Jingwu looked at the ghost tear with a smile, and carefully put it away.
"Thank you, I like it very much."
Looking at her smiling face, Yue Huai instantly breathed a sigh of relief. As long as she was happy, it was worth it to have been teased by his friend for so long.
He breathed a deep sigh of relief and walked over to her, standing shoulder to shoulder with her.
A moment later, a small dog ran in from somewhere and bit Jingwu's skirt tightly.
When Jingwu noticed this, she looked down and saw a small golden dog looking at her with its big eyes.
This golden puppy is round and adorable, wearing a fine fabric coat and a golden bell around its neck, clearly indicating that it has been carefully cared for.
Jingwu watched as it clung tightly to the hem of her skirt, as if trying to take her somewhere.
Sensing something was wrong, they followed the direction it led.
Yue Huai also sensed something and immediately followed behind her.
The dog was very intelligent; it led the two towards the gate, and after they went outside, it released their mouths and ran quickly in one direction.
After running for a while, they would stop and turn around to see if they were following. Once they saw that they were catching up, they would continue running.
Jingwu and Yuehuai followed the dog all the way to a dilapidated temple in a dense forest.
The puppy continued running inside, frantically scratching at the closed gate of the dilapidated temple.
When he couldn't push it away, he turned to look for help at the two people following behind him.
Jingwu guessed what was going on and stepped forward to push the door open.
Upon entering, the first thing you see is a naked woman lying stiffly on the ground, with a Buddha statue covered in cobwebs in front of her.
Upon seeing this, Jingwu immediately took off his outer robe and wrapped it around the woman.
She realized the woman was still alive, and seeing her injuries, she immediately picked her up and teleported back to the villa.
She put the person into her room, then quickly went to find the steward and asked him to summon the physician from the manor.
Yue Huai carried the dog back to the villa, and after seeing that she had made arrangements, he followed her.
"This girl has a strange aura about her."
Jingwu stood side by side with him in the courtyard, watching the doctor walk into the house, nodding and responding.
"really."
It's hard to pinpoint exactly what's wrong; we can only wait until the girl wakes up and ask her for her birth date and time to calculate it.
The doctor quickly came out and bowed to the two men: "Young master, young lady, the girl inside is not in any life-threatening danger, but she was drugged and..."
Before he could finish speaking, the two of them instantly understood what he meant.
Yue Huai nodded and instructed, "Don't tell anyone about this. Just pretend it never happened."
"Yes," the doctor replied, and then went to prepare the medicine. "The young lady is now awake, I will go and prepare the medicine now."
Yue Huai nodded, gesturing for him to leave.
Jingwu and the boy exchanged a glance, Jingwu took the dog from his hands, and then went inside.
As soon as the door was pushed open, a woman with a deathly pale face was seen leaning against the headboard, looking utterly hopeless, with no sign of life in her eyes.
Even after hearing the noise, they had no intention of turning around.
Seeing her like this, Jingwu moved a chair and sat down by the bed, letting out a soft sigh.
"Your dog is very smart; it's the one that led us to you."
A glint flashed in the woman's eyes, then she turned to look at the person in front of her: "Xinghuang'er?"
As soon as she finished speaking, the dog in the girl's arms jumped down and stood in front of the bed wagging its tail at her.
Ignoring her own pain, the woman immediately got out of bed, hugged it tightly, buried her face in its body, and wept bitterly.
After seeing Xinghuang'er being taken away by that group of people, she thought she would never see it again.
This was her only remaining attachment in the world.
"Xinghuang'er, thank goodness you're alright. Father and Mother are gone, and the family business is gone. If you were to leave me too, I really wouldn't know how I would survive."
The woman was devastated and buried her face in its body, sobbing uncontrollably.
Upon hearing this, Jingwu carefully examined her face and immediately sensed something was amiss.
This girl has a broad and square face, a full temple, and a plump wealth palace. By all accounts, she has the appearance of someone who is blessed and wealthy.
Looking at the lines on her parents' palace, the original trend indicated that her parents would live until she was over fifty, but now that trend has stopped.
This face looks strange no matter how you look at it. According to her face, she will live under the protection of her parents until she gets married and has children. Her marriage will be happy, her children will be filial in her old age, and she will be rich and noble throughout her life.
How could it be that both parents are dead and the family property has been completely lost?
Jingwu looked at the person in front of him and asked the question that had been bothering him.
"You just said your father and mother have both passed away?"
The woman stopped crying, looked at the girl in front of her, and nodded: "Yes, my father was hit by a carriage and died instantly half a year ago. My mother was so heartbroken by my father's death that she fell seriously ill for more than a month and then passed away as well. Not long after they left, the merchants who cooperated with my family's cloth shop all found reasons to terminate their cooperation..."
As she spoke, she recalled the way her father and mother looked before they died, and she couldn't help but shed tears again.
Upon hearing this, Jingwu became even more curious: "Could you tell me your birth date and time?"
The woman was taken aback at first, and looked the person in front of her up and down. Seeing that she was young and not knowing what she wanted the birth chart for, she hesitated whether to give it to her.
Then, thinking that she had already come to this point, what else could she possibly gain, she revealed her birth date and time.
Upon hearing the eight characters, Jingwu immediately cast a divination and made some calculations.
Her birth chart and facial features both indicate a life of great wealth and prosperity, but what she is experiencing now is completely opposite to the trajectory of her destiny.
The next second, Jingwu thought of the life-swapping technique, which would allow her to exchange her bad fate for her good one.
She narrowed her eyes slightly, immediately realizing this was a possibility, and asked.
Were you lucky when you were little?
“When I was little, I was quite lucky. Every time my father took me hunting, animals would come up to me on their own. When I went to restaurants, I would also be randomly selected to get a free meal. But in the last two years, my luck has been getting worse and worse, and my health has been deteriorating. I get sick from time to time, and even when I go out, bird droppings fall from the sky and land on my head.”
The woman felt increasingly distressed as she spoke, and tears welled up in her eyes again: "In the last two days, my family's fortunes have also turned sour. My father's cloth shop used to be doing very well, thriving, but in the last two years it has suddenly gone downhill, and now, no one is interested in it at all."
Upon hearing this, Jingwu became even more certain that her fate had been switched.
Has your birth chart been known to others?
