Chapter 201: Ancient Tree
Upon hearing this, a thought suddenly flashed through Qi Qiyun's mind, but she couldn't quite grasp it.
He lowered his eyes and thought for a while before saying, "How is the situation at the Xuanmen? Do you need to go there to handle it?"
Yun Zhaohui shook his head: "I received your letter yesterday and told my master about this. Originally, my master was also going to go to the Underworld with us to see what was going on. But when we received the letter from the Xuanmen today, my master and the Yue family head and his wife returned to the Xuanmen to handle matters. He specially left me behind to accompany you two to the Underworld. With them at the Xuanmen, nothing serious will happen."
Qi Qiyun nodded and said, "In that case, let's hurry up and enter the Underworld."
As soon as they finished speaking, the two of them cast a spell together, summoning the Xuanmen.
Jingwu looked up and saw the door in mid-air slowly open, and a ghost messenger walked out of the dark, gloomy cave.
The ghost messenger glanced at the group and, seeing that they were just sorcerers, raised his chin slightly and said arrogantly.
"What is it for?"
"We're going to the underworld," Jingwu said truthfully. "Why are you filling in again? Haven't the Black and White Impermanence returned from their vacation yet?"
"How dare you, a mere human, interfere in matters of the underworld?" the ghost messenger said bluntly. "The underworld is currently undergoing renovations and no outsiders are allowed to enter. If you have nothing else to do, please refrain from summoning the gates of hell."
Jingwu frowned slightly upon hearing these impolite words. He had never spoken so arrogantly when Hei Bai Wuchang was around.
She opened her mouth, intending to persuade him, when she heard a voice the next second, but she couldn't make out what it said. She could only vaguely hear that it sounded like something was being said.
As soon as he finished speaking, the ghost messenger immediately changed his expression, stepped aside, and spoke respectfully to the three of them.
"Please come in, gentlemen."
Jingwu looked at his slightly bent-over posture with a face full of doubt.
What exactly did that voice say that caused such a sudden change in his attitude?
The other two people standing next to her were also very puzzled, but fortunately, they were older and more composed, and their expressions showed no unusual behavior.
Jingwu turned to look at his master, and seeing him nod, he took the lead and walked inside.
Upon entering, one is greeted by a dark and gloomy atmosphere, with a long corridor leading into the darkness that can be vaguely seen.
On both sides of the corridor, will-o'-the-wisps are lit, guiding passersby.
Jingwu felt the sudden drop in temperature, and goosebumps rose on his arms.
She felt extremely uncomfortable, but she still forced herself to go inside.
The three of them walked for a while, and Jingwu was about to turn around and ask the ghost messenger when she found that there was no one behind her, leaving her alone.
"Master? Senior Brother Yun?"
Jingwu turned her head to look and tentatively called out twice, but only silence answered her.
She wanted to go back and take a look, but as soon as she lifted her leg, she saw that the road back was covered with black fog.
Jingwu frowned, it seemed that someone didn't want her to go back.
She had a bad feeling. She turned around and saw a door with a light shining at the end of the road.
Jingwu hesitated for a moment, then walked towards the door.
As soon as they got close, they were suddenly sucked in by a force.
Jingwu gasped in surprise, feeling the biting wind brush against her face, and tried to reach out to shield herself.
The next second, I realized that my legs had landed on the ground, and the scene in front of me had completely changed.
Jingwu looked at the huge ancient tree in front of him, lush and verdant, surrounded by divine power, and covered with countless red fruits.
Feeling curious, she took a step forward, wanting to reach out and touch it, when she heard a voice behind her.
"Oh, what brings you here?"
Jingwu found the charming voice very familiar, and when he turned his head, he saw the innkeeper of Xiangyun Town.
At this moment, she was dressed in white, her makeup still charming, her black hair was tied up in a bun, and she wore a white pearl crown. She was surrounded by an ethereal aura, and a snow-white fox followed beside her.
"It's you..."
After saying this, Jingwu felt that something was not quite right, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
She examined the person in front of her more closely and instantly understood. The power emanating from this person felt very familiar to her, like that of an old friend.
The woman in white, Wan Yao, looked at her and chuckled softly before sitting down beside the ancient tree: "Come on, sit for a while."
She patted the spot next to her, conjured a flask of wine, and drank it down.
Jingwu glanced at the seat next to her, walked over and sat down. Since he couldn't get out anyway, he might as well get more information from her.
She turned to her and asked, "Is there any more wine?"
Wanyao suddenly turned her head, as if she had heard something unbelievable, and looked at her in surprise: "Oh, you can actually drink alcohol? That's really rare."
As she carefully examined the person in front of her, she conjured up another flask of wine and handed it to her.
"Try it, you said before that this wine tastes terrible."
Jingwu was completely bewildered by her words. Who doesn't drink alcohol? Me? Did I say this wine was hard to drink?
She took the wine jug, took a small sip, and the spicy taste instantly filled her mouth.
The next second, she sensed an extremely strong spiritual energy coursing through her body.
Jingwu looked down at the wine bottle with delight and saw three large characters on it: Drunken Jade Dew.
The name of the wine seemed familiar, but she couldn't quite place where she had heard it before.
Just one sip of this wine has such a powerful spiritual energy. If we had a few more bottles, wouldn't they be useful when spiritual energy is scarce?!
"This wine is quite delicious. Do you have any more?"
Without any hesitation, Jingwu immediately asked.
"Wow, that's rare! You actually say this wine is good?" Wan Yao looked over with her bright, watery eyes, a disbelieving smile on her face: "I don't have any more, I can only give you one more bottle at most."
"Just one bottle..." Jingwu said with a hint of regret. There was only one bottle, and it didn't seem like it would be enough to share.
"One bottle is about enough, ever since you and..."
Wan Yao realized she had said the wrong thing, her eyes darted around, and she quickly changed the subject: "This wine is made with Ganoderma lucidum and Ginseng, hundreds of kinds of spiritual herbs. It's not easy to make!"
At this point, she muttered under her breath, "Besides, I only have three bottles left."
Hearing this, Jingwu scratched his head a little embarrassedly, then smiled and said, "Then can you give me two bottles?"
Although Wanyao was reluctant, she nodded and said, "I have a connection with you, little girl. I'll take you. Anyway, the brewer will be back soon, so we can just have him brew it then."
