Just then, Sister Hong came over and, upon hearing this, quickly said, "She fell and it was quite serious; her legs were covered in blood, and she was taken to the village doctor."
Mingzhuo looked at Shen Boyuan seriously: "Teacher Shen, aren't you going to take a look? You're responsible for the people you brought."
Shen Boyuan had fought a fierce battle with the ferocious corpse and, to be honest, wanted to rest for a while, but since Ming Zhuo had said so, he had no choice but to stand up.
"I'll go take a look."
"Senior Brother Shen, I'll go with you!" Chu Yuqi stomped her foot, glared at Ming Zhuo resentfully, and followed him.
The other two trainees remained silent, but being young, they clearly harbored some resentment towards Mingzhuo.
Despite being the teacher in charge, she didn't help at all and instead tried to steal credit and find fault everywhere. It's really too much.
The two were furious and stood up, saying, "Let's reinforce the magic array used to suppress evil."
Ji Yong, Zhuang Xun, and Fang Linxiao also went over to help.
Mingzhuo then looked at Sister Hong, "Did you need something from me?"
Sister Hong came to her senses: "Yes, Miaomiao wants to invite you over to talk."
Mingzhuo stood up. "Let's go then."
As the group stepped out the door, they saw the coffin parked under the awning.
The five people formed a battle formation and chanted incantations to solidify it, which looked very impressive. The villagers stood at the gate of the courtyard to watch the spectacle.
"I never expected it was Hu Mazi who was behind it."
"This kind of person harms others while they are alive, and even after they die, they still cause trouble everywhere."
"Is it that sesame freckle who went to jail and later committed rape?"
"Yes, the woman who was raped was the first female college student in our village! A female college student from over twenty years ago, she was so precious!"
"I know, it's Sister Shengnan from Uncle Cripple's family, isn't it? She later drowned herself in the lake."
"What a terrible thing, you beast!"
An elderly man saw Mingzhuo come out and hurriedly said, "Master, this time we must beat Hu Mazi to a pulp! We can't let him harm people anymore!"
Having witnessed the Lake Festival, he knew how formidable Mingzhuo was and voiced his concerns.
"This isn't the first time Hu Mazi has caused trouble. More than twenty years ago, he turned into a vengeful ghost, but was later taken in by a passing Taoist priest and reburied. Who knew he would suddenly appear at the small pond!"
The young people around were hearing this story for the first time, and they were immediately in an uproar.
After reinforcing the magic array, Ji Yong came over and explained, "Teacher Ruan, Hu Mazi's grave is empty. In reality, his body was buried in a stinking pond and turned into a corpse demon."
That Taoist priest tampered with the corpse, using the filthy environment of the stinking pond to practice his corpse-evil technique; his intentions were extremely malicious.
It happened more than 20 years ago, so it's difficult to investigate. "However, the village chief said he has some impression of that Taoist priest and will help draw his portrait later."
Zhuang Xun frowned. Shen Boyuan hadn't mentioned any of this, clearly indicating that he didn't want to share the information with them.
Mingzhuo didn't seem to mind. "You guys keep an eye on things here."
She glanced at the coffin; even though it was covered with talismans, wisps of malevolent energy still emanated from it.
Zhuang Xun and Fang Linxiao were worried that something might go wrong, so they decided to stay and watch over the coffin. Ming Zhuo secretly instructed the two of them, "Take it easy when you can, and don't provoke what's inside."
Fang Linxiao glanced at Ji Yong and the other two standing beside him: "..."
Ms. Ruan, please stop talking! It's so loud, who can't hear you?
Mingzhuo and his three friends went out happily and soon arrived at Hu Miao's house.
Hu Miao lived in the house on the side. The child was sleeping in bed, but not very soundly, occasionally sobbing. The woman kept gently comforting him.
The yard was messy, with things scattered everywhere. The main house was quiet, and I didn't see any other family members.
Mingzhuo glanced in the direction of the kitchen... Oh, the kitchen was locked.
Hu Miao followed her gaze and said expressionlessly, "My two younger brothers had a huge fight. I said I wanted to take a boy to the city and asked them to discuss who to take, so they went outside and started arguing. Before they left, my two sisters-in-law even locked the kitchen door."
Mingzhuo said with certainty, "You can't possibly take their son to the city."
Hu Miao sneered, "This family almost killed my daughter, and they still want to enjoy a life of ease with me? Dream on!"
Mingzhuo sighed: "Can you tell me what's going on with this person?"
She took out a piece of yellow paper and casually sketched a few lines with cinnabar, and a little girl with a ponytail, fierce yet vibrant eyes, appeared on the paper.
The others were somewhat confused, having never seen this little girl before; if they had, they certainly wouldn't have forgotten her.
He Wangyao was stunned, as if struck by lightning, and an image immediately flashed into her mind.
"I...I think I've seen her before! In my dream, she was beside me, with a bloody hole between her eyebrows that kept bleeding! Oh my god, how could I forget her?"
He Wangyao was almost scared to tears. She thought it was just an unconscious nightmare, but it turned out there really was a ghost.
When Hu Miao saw the painting, tears streamed down her face: "Sister Shengnan!"
She paused for a moment and said softly, "Don't be afraid, Sister Shengnan is not a bad person."
There are many things she doesn't want to recall; those painful past events feel like a dream.
Twenty-four years ago, Hu Miao was only fourteen years old, but he already had to take care of the family's food, drink, and daily needs.
She is in junior high school and has excellent grades, but she is not allowed to attend school. Even though it is compulsory education mandated by the state, many people outwardly comply but inwardly defy it.
The ancestral rule of Xianyuan Village is that only boys can study, while girls are not even allowed to touch books, because a woman's virtue lies in her lack of talent.
If she were a little older, around sixteen or seventeen, she could get married and receive a dowry to continue supporting the men in her family.
The only exception was Shengnan, the daughter of the crippled uncle, who was in high school.
