Chapter 426 Of course I'm at home.

"Could those wild mushrooms have caused you to hallucinate?" Old Yao still insisted that Li Huili was mistaken.

Otherwise, how could that be? He didn't see those things.

"Okay, don't be scared, it's okay. We need to look at the problem scientifically."

Li Huili also wondered if she was hallucinating from eating too many mushrooms. She remembered that something in her pocket had been heating up, so she took it out and looked at it.

The amulet with the footprint on it had a hole burned in it.

"How could this happen?" Old Yao's expression changed slightly, and he quickly touched his pocket.

The amulet that Li Huili gave him was also burned black.

He belatedly realized that even though his stomach was already so full, the aroma made him feel incredibly hungry, as if his stomach had become a bottomless pit, and he was desperately craving it.

When Li Huili turned her head to turn the steering wheel, he got angry and almost tried to grab it.

But then he felt a warmth in his pocket, and that intense craving suddenly subsided.

Because he was worried about his wife, he did not object to Li Huili driving away.

If it weren't for this talisman, he would have been completely bewitched, determined to get through it no matter what.

"Could it be... that there really is a ghost?" Old Yao felt a chill run from the soles of his feet straight to the top of his head.

Li Huili slowly shook her head: "I don't know either. Maybe I should ask my students."

She felt that her long-held materialism was crumbling.

Perhaps Mingzhuo, Li Wenhe, and Pei Di can provide the answer.

——

Mingzhuo didn't see the message Li Huili sent in the middle of the night until the next morning.

Li Huili arranged to meet her, Li Wenhe, and Pei Di at a nearby coffee shop.

Just as Mingzhuo was about to leave, she received a call from Li Wenhe. "Did you see Teacher Li's message? I'm coming to pick you up right away. Wait for me for five minutes."

Since there was a car available, Mingzhuo didn't ask the butler to arrange one.

Thinking that it was almost time, he walked ahead to the gate to wait for Li Wenhe.

Gu Xu went to work early in the morning and saw Ming Zhuo standing by the roadside. She rolled down the car window in surprise. "Zhuo Zhuo, are you going out? Do you want me to give you a ride?"

Mingzhuo was always in a good mood whenever he saw Gu Xu. He greeted her with a smile before saying, "No need, Li Wenhe will be here to pick me up soon."

Li Wenhe is coming to pick me up? Gu Xu's fingers, resting on her knees, clenched unconsciously.

"Where are you going so early in the morning?" he asked, even though he knew this was against his social etiquette.

“Platinum Crystal Coffee,” Mingzhuo replied.

Remembering the resentment, and noting that Ah Xu hadn't used the palm talisman last night, she came over to check his expression. "Did you have any nightmares last night?"

Gu Xu's expression remained unchanged: "No."

As they were talking, Li Wenhe's car arrived and he honked the horn twice.

He got out of the car and opened the door: "Zhuozhuo, get in the car."

Mingzhuo smiled and waved to Gu Xu, then turned and walked towards Li Wenhe's car.

As she bent down to get into the car, Li Wenhe raised his hand to protect the top of his head, his eyes deep and unfathomable. "Be careful, don't hit your head."

Mingzhuo glanced at his hand and casually said, "Wenwen, you finally know to respect your teacher?" He then calmly sat down inside.

Li Wenhe took a deep breath: "Do you think I'm showing respect to my master?"

Mingzhuo: "Isn't that right? It's just that I'm a good person and never set rules. Otherwise, other people would have to be very careful when they want to become my apprentices."

Li Wenhe: "..."

I'm so angry at this person first thing in the morning.

On the other side, Gu Xu, who had witnessed everything, withdrew his gaze.

Calmly instructing the driver, "Let's go."

It would be a lie to say he wasn't dreaming; he's been dreaming more frequently lately, and the images that were previously blurry are now becoming clearer.

Thinking of Mingzhuo's smug expression just now, exactly like the person in his dream, he couldn't help but smile.

Others might have noticed something about Li Wenhe's actions just now, or even have inappropriate thoughts, but Mingzhuo wouldn't.

Because she was treated with such respect wherever she went, it was as natural as eating and breathing, so of course she wouldn't have any other thoughts.

I was confused just now; I almost lost my composure and overthought things.

On such a hot day, it's impossible for Mingzhuo to go for coffee with Li Wenhe alone; he probably has something on his mind.

——

Mingzhuo and Li Wenhe arrived at the coffee shop, where Li Huili and Lao Yao were already waiting.

The couple looked anxious. When they saw Mingzhuo approaching, they hurriedly asked, "Can you get in touch with Fu Xinyue?"

Li Huili was lying in bed late at night when she suddenly remembered meeting Fu Xinyue that evening.

That place was too eerie. As a teacher, she was used to worrying, so she couldn't help but worry about whether the other person had returned home safely.

It was too late then, so I could only send a text message.

But as of this morning, no one has replied.

Li Huili estimated the time; it gets light early in the summer, and it was already past eight o'clock, so she should get up and made a phone call.

However, the phone rang for a long time but no one answered.

Mingzhuo didn't have Fu Xinyue's phone number, so he tried dialing the number Li Huili had provided, but the phone rang and no one answered.

Old Yao suggested, "Why don't we call later? Let's talk about what happened last night first."

He felt that Li Huili was worrying too much; hadn't they already graduated? It's probably a common problem for homeroom teachers.

Li Huili's face was somewhat grave. "I have a feeling that something has happened to Fu Xinyue. My intuition is very accurate. Just like yesterday, I'm sure we were really possessed by an evil spirit!"
