Blood Demon Vine
"Stop, stop," Jian Qinyuan raised his hands and stood still. "Look carefully, it's me."
Yi Wu withdrew her hand, her face obscured by the darkness, and she was clearly on guard. "Why are you here?"
"You acted on your own and you still have the nerve to criticize me?" Jian Qinyuan muttered as he walked forward, reaching into his pocket to pull something out. "It's a good thing I came with you, otherwise you wouldn't be able to enter this mountain today."
As he spoke, he took out a token and wanted to lead Yiwu through the mountain protection formation, but Yiwu stopped where she was.
"Give me the token." Yi Wu held out her hand, her tone brooking no room for argument. "I'm going to take care of some personal matters. I don't need to bother you."
"Private matter?"
Jian Qinyuan took back the token and took a half step back. "What private matter? Do you dare to say that you are not going to find that fox demon?"
Yiwu did go to find Feiqin, but the reasons were complicated and she didn't know where to start.
Her silence was particularly glaring in Jian Qinyuan's eyes. He was furious. "Since we met, two or three hundred years ago, you never told me anything you did. Do you consider me a friend?"
"Do you know that every time you get hurt I worry about you and I want to help you?"
Yi Wu felt guilty after being scolded and was about to explain, but before she could open her mouth, she was interrupted by a third voice.
"You two are really in a good mood. You stayed up in the middle of the night and ran to the mountains and forests for a tryst."
On the tree branches, a dark figure blended into the night. Jiufang Mingyuan, who had arrived at some unknown time, was radiating coldness. He glared down at the two of them, his expression deeply displeased.
Before Jian Qinyuan was dealt with, Jiufang Mingyuan appeared again. Yiwu frowned and her temples throbbed.
Jian Qinyuan was furious and didn't care about the other person's identity. He cursed, "Don't talk nonsense. Who is having a secret meeting? We are just good friends."
"But you, you keep following her for no apparent reason. You know whether you have other motives or not."
After all, he never had any other thoughts about Yiwu, so naturally he felt at ease.
Unexpectedly, Jiufang Mingyuan raised an eyebrow, as if deliberately opposing him, "Even if I have other intentions, so what."
"You..." Jian Qinyuan was speechless for a moment and couldn't think of any words to refute him.
There were footsteps approaching slowly. Yi Wu tilted her head to listen carefully, "Stop making noise."
She did hear someone coming out of the mountain and vague voices. She immediately grabbed Jian Qinyuan and flew up a tree to hide.
From a distance of four or five meters, Jiufang Mingyuan stared straight at Yi Wu's right hand until she let go of Jian Qinyuan, then he looked away.
Not long after, two figures suddenly appeared twenty meters away, as if they had just come out of the mountain protection formation, and then leaned against a big tree to chat.
"Strange, it's only been a few days, why is the boss calling people here again?"
"How would I know? Anyway, let's just take the person in. Why bother with so much?"
Although the two men were wearing the uniform blue robes of the Changling Sect, their words and actions were extremely nonchalant, and they exuded a demonic aura. They must be transformed from demons.
One of them was holding a token in his hand, which was exactly the same as the one in Jian Qinyuan's hand. It should be used to open the mountain protection magic circle.
Before long, people began to come to Juling Mountain one after another.
In the moonlight, their eyes were dull, and they moved like zombies, slowly approaching. Some bumped into tree trunks, but felt no pain and just walked around them and continued on.
One after another, most of them were people Yi Wu and the others had met in the restaurant a few days ago. They must have been bewitched and summoned by Fei Qin.
Seeing Qiao Siyue, Jian Qinyuan almost jumped off the tree.
Yi Wu quickly took action to stop him, which attracted Jiufang Mingyuan's sharp gaze.
"Ling Hua and the others said they would protect Junior Sister, but they broke their promise," Jian Qinyuan said in a low voice so only Yi Wu beside him could hear. "If anything happens to Junior Sister, I will never forgive them."
Yi Wu didn't say anything, but just pointed at a figure below.
Not far behind Qiao Siyue, a woman looked very familiar. It was the fairy Chang Yao. She had changed into ordinary clothes and imitated the other bewitched people, blending in with the group.
Although Ling Hua and Liu Yu hadn't been seen, they were undoubtedly following in the shadows. Perhaps they were planning to take advantage of the opportunity to sneak in and search for those who had recently gone missing.
Seeing this, Yi Wu quickly snatched the token from Jian Qinyuan's hand and patted him on the back, "You go too."
Jian Qinyuan was caught off guard and knocked off the tree. He landed lightly and easily behind the thick trunk, avoiding disturbing the rescuers. He cursed inwardly, quickly adjusted his posture, and blended into the team.
There were dozens of people in total, following the two men closely as they walked in.
"Hurry up, stop dawdling." Their figures gradually disappeared and they entered the mountain protection formation one after another.
After waiting for a while, Yi Wu came down from the tree and caught up with them with the token.
Jiufang Mingyuan then jumped down, put his hands behind his back, and slowly walked to her side.
There was no conversation along the way. Following the demon clan, they quickly passed through the mountain protection array, found the cave where Feiqin was hiding, and sneaked in smoothly.
The passages in the cave are winding and crisscrossed, the terrain is complex, and there are more than ten caves of various sizes, which are dizzying.
Yiwu carefully searched every cave, but still couldn't find Wen Shiyu. She had a bad feeling in her heart and stopped at another fork in the road.
Jiufang Mingyuan sensed that they were looking for different things, and asked inquiringly, "What are you looking for?"
Yi Wu frowned and shook her head. After listening carefully, she walked along the path on the right. As she got closer, she heard painful wails and a commotion mixed with voices.
"How dare you sacrifice my fellow immortals to feed your lowly monster? You are so reckless and audacious!"
The closer I got, the clearer I could hear Chang's angry shouts.
"When my immortal warriors arrive, they will flatten your cave, chop you into pieces, and tear you into pieces..."
The angrier she got, the happier Feiqin became, laughing so hard her body shook with laughter, "What's wrong with the immortals? In this cave, whether immortals, demons, or mere mortals, they are all food for my demon clan."
"You should feel honored that you can contribute to the great cause of our demon race."
Chang Yao was furious, but she couldn't think of more words to scold this despicable fox demon, and she was shaking with anger.
"Stop cursing. It's better to think of a way to get down from this tree first." Jian Qinyuan's back was pressed against the tree trunk, his hands and feet were tied tightly by vines, and he couldn't move.
Chang Yao still had one hand that could move, which was slightly better than his. She immediately summoned her sword and chopped the vines.
Unexpectedly, the giant tree seemed to have life, and its branches and vines dodged flexibly. It quickly pulled her sword away and tied her up tightly again.
"Save your energy. No one can escape the blood demon vine alive. Just wait to die." Feiqin yawned, feeling a little sleepy. She turned and left, wagging her long furry tail.
There was too much new nutrients, and the blood demon vine needed some time to digest them before it could provide her with juice. She went to take a nap first.
The cave was interconnected, and Feiqin left through other exits, not noticing the intruder hiding in the shadows. After taking a few steps, she turned back and ordered, "Throw that brat in too. There's no use keeping him around anyway."
After making sure they were far away, Ling Hua and Liu Yu appeared from nowhere and immediately tried to find a way to rescue Chang Wei and the others.
The blood demon vine was attacked and released poisonous gas. Those people who were struggling in pain just now were all knocked unconscious by the poisonous gas, and the cave became quiet in an instant.
Qin Yuan and Chang Yao held their breath, barely staying awake. Ling Hua and Liu Yu retreated just in time, standing a few meters away with solemn expressions.
"This thing is really hard to deal with." Chang Ying's face was very ugly, and she was slightly in pain. "Its vines have poisonous thorns that will pierce into the human body and suck blood."
She used her spiritual energy as a barrier and managed to block the poisonous sting, but it couldn't last long.
Qiao Siyue's cultivation was not as good as hers, and her physical fitness was also not as good. She fainted early and was pierced by the poisonous stinger. Drops of blood stained her clothes red.
Qin Yuan was extremely anxious and struggled even harder, but the vine kept shrinking tighter and tighter, almost suffocating him. "Qin Mo, you damned brat, where have you been..."
The situation was urgent, Yiwu blocked her sense of smell and stepped into the blood demon vine cave.
After hearing what Feiqin said, she didn't need to look any further. She was sure Wen Shiyu would be sent over soon. Yiwu looked up and down, gazing at her surroundings.
The huge cave was filled with evil spirits, and the walls were covered with densely packed dark red vines, with a person tied up every few meters.
Looking up, the people who had been captured earlier had already been drained of blood and turned into mummies hanging on the ceiling of the cave.
The immortals, demons, and mortals were in three different directions. The blood demon vine pierced its poisonous thorns into their bodies, sucked their blood, and transformed it into honey for the demons to practice.
The root of the demon vine was even directly connected to several demons, who were sleeping with their eyes closed, full of demonic energy.
Yi Wu immediately thought of the monsters she had seen in Jieyang City, which were quite similar to the ones in front of her.
"You really do..." Jiufang Mingyuan quickly scanned the cave, and seeing the creatures raised by the demonic energy of the demon clan, a chill flashed in his eyes, "You don't know whether to live or die."
Yiwu deliberately cleared her throat and glanced at him meaningfully.
The two of them had come here in disguise, and now in front of Ling Hua and other immortals, they couldn't easily reveal their identities, otherwise they might not be able to rescue the people, and they might start fighting among themselves, delaying their work.
Fortunately, Jiufang Mingyuan was just angry and did not take any action.
Ling Hua and Liu Yu thought of many ways, but after testing them, they dared not touch the Blood Demon Vine again. They had keenly discovered that once attacked, the demon vine would go berserk, releasing poisonous gas and rapidly absorbing the blood of its prey.
Liu Yu walked over to Yi Wu, his gentle face hinting at anxiety. "Do you have any way to deal with it?"
"It has plenty of prey right now, so it doesn't have time to bother with us." Ling Hua's tone grew heavier as he continued, "If we wait until it's completely digested, it will be even more difficult to deal with."
"It must be destroyed, otherwise more people will surely die."
Having said that, Ling Hua felt quite complicated when he thought that he, the dignified immortal god of war, couldn't even deal with a demon vine.
Qin Yuan took a long time to calm down, and finally relaxed a little. He urged urgently: "Think of a way, Qin Mo, save the little junior sister quickly."
No one knows when Feiqin will come back, and they don’t have much time left.
"Let me try." Yi Wu turned around, took out an ordinary dagger from her arms, and walked in front of Jian Qinyuan.
She turned her back to the others and quietly stroked the dagger with her other hand, covering the magic-killing magic on the blade of the dagger, and then quickly cut through the vine that bound Jian Qinyuan.
Unexpectedly, the vines were cut and fell to the ground. The broken parts were charred and exuded a hint of demonic energy.
Jian Qinyuan saw it with his sharp eyes, but said nothing. Instead, he was overjoyed, "It works. Hurry up, there's another one."
Yiwu cut off the other one with her backhand, and Jian Qinyuan immediately broke free from his restraints and regained his freedom.
