Give me a (body) too, Chapter One.

"Snap~"

The sound of the piece being placed was quite crisp... In the pitch-black room, Ira placed a piece on the chessboard in front of her without hesitation. Black and white pieces were scattered all over the chessboard.

"In other words, the calamity was not your doing?"

Ira asked this question while playing chess, which was actually a bad habit, but he wasn't worried about it... because talking to the blonde woman with snake-like eyes in front of him was the main purpose of his trip.

Playing chess was merely a request made by the other party.

Generally speaking, playing chess while chatting does indeed give one a sense of class (prestige).

"Yes, when I descended into the Nine Realms, the calamity had already been sealed away."

The woman with the snake said this, fiddling with a white piece in her hand, pondering where to place it. She said, "In fact, apart from eating up a small portion of the [God] and recruiting a few followers, I haven't done anything bad."

Ira, waiting for his opponent to make a move, looked at the clear board and sighed, pointing to a spot on the board. "Do you really need to think this long to play a game of Gomoku? If you weren't blocking this spot... your followers?"

Followers of the God of Chaos... that sounds like a rather dangerous thing.

Just like the retinue of an evil god.

"Oh, right..."

The snake-woman responded with a smile, placing her piece at the spot Ira had suggested, and said, "Yes, those corrupted elves and the corrupted lands... were my doing, but you dealt with them quickly."

Are those all?

In that case, it seems she really hasn't done anything bad... at least from Ira's perspective, she really hasn't done anything bad.

"Moreover, I have been thinking about helping you resolve one or two calamities."

As she said this, she frowned in slight distress... It wasn't that she couldn't play Connect Four, but what she was better at was the kind of Connect Four where the game starts with rock-paper-scissors and whoever goes first wins.

As a result, Ira told her that the game was no different from rock-paper-scissors, and then introduced more sophisticated rules such as "forbidden moves," "three-move exchange," and "five-move two-attack"... which made her feel a little uncomfortable.

While she could certainly use divine power, she didn't want to display that level of strength in front of Ira... She played chess with Ira simply to play chess, not to win.

"However, you can see my current situation."

The snake woman pointed to herself, then to the surrounding darkness, and said, "I am still sealed by those false gods and cannot escape... To be honest, I never expected that the gods of this world could do this much."

As she said this, she looked at the puzzled Ira and explained, "Because my status is much, much higher than those guys... I can only say that they really want to protect the world and love those mortals."

That is indeed the case. Ira has been moved more than once by the greatness of the gods in this world, compared to the gods in the novels he had read in his past world, who were full of desire and despicable.

The gods of this world are indeed beings worthy of being called gods.

"So, what exactly is your purpose?"

Ira asked this question, still not quite understanding what this woman in front of him wanted to do, and what her purpose was in helping him all along.

"Because I'm your cheat code... I've never lied to you."

The woman with the snake responded, looking at the chessboard, slightly embarrassed... because it was obvious she had lost. Realizing this, she didn't continue playing, but simply said, "You're going to the spirit world later, right?"

"..."

"I knew it... you've been watching me all along."

After a brief silence, Ira sighed and said, "Yes, I'm going to the spirit world to find a body for Tikkap that can hold his soul... and if possible, find one for Raphael as well."

Judging from Raphael's words, there might be enough unclaimed bodies in the spirit world for the souls within him to use, so there probably wouldn't be any problem. He now needs more help.

"Get one for me too."

The serpent god said this, and then, as Ira frowned and looked over, he continued, "I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, 'Is this what she's always wanted?' But that's not the case."

"I want to obtain a body that can bear my power. In the end, I still want to deal with a few calamities to help you... It's normal if you don't believe me. It's up to you."

"..."

This is where things really get interesting.

Ira pondered, looking at the presence before him... He was undecided for a moment. At this moment, he began to realize that he held the fate of the world firmly in his hands, and he stood at the crossroads of the future.

Belief and disbelief are two completely different possibilities.

Not only now, but even before, he needed to weigh everything the snake woman said on the scales of his heart... but the weights formed a strange balance.

"In fact, those calamities are not difficult to solve... Do you know about the [Family of the Evil God]? Just three outsiders, leading a hunting party, have firmly kept them outside the prime plane."

She said this, then simply added, "Although that wasn't the calamity itself, and that calamity might have been resolved from the very beginning... well, you'll understand what I mean later."
