Chapter Sixty-Five: Guardians of the Heroes

Thanks to Liu Baohua for starting a live broadcast to embarrass Lin Yang.

Luna and her daughter accidentally saw Lin Yang trapped through a live stream and immediately dropped what they were doing to rush to the scene.

While asking for directions along the way, they happened to encounter residents standing by the roadside discussing Lin Yang and the short soldier distributing life-saving medicine for free.

After exchanging ideas, the two sides hit it off immediately and decided to go together.

Economic backwardness does not necessarily mean that poor and remote areas will produce unruly people; it may also give rise to the most honest and simple people.

They were illiterate, but they understood the principle of repaying a small kindness with a great one.

Although they usually avoid soldiers when they see them on the street, now that Lin Yang's personal safety is threatened, everyone still followed Luna and her daughter without hesitation.

"Don't fire! Lin Yang is innocent; he's the one who truly works for the people!"

"If distributing medicine can be considered disrupting public order, then shouldn't you soldiers who flaunt your guns all day long be locked up in jail to reflect on your actions?"

"Lin Yang is currently the only doctor who can concoct a treatment for infectious diseases. If you kill him, our entire city will be finished!"

If someone barges into a scene shouting and yelling, they will inevitably be subdued in no time.

But when a group of people barge into the scene, the situation changes.

Luna and her mother, along with the residents behind her, were unarmed, but they were, after all, citizens of Southeast Asia.

The soldiers treated them badly on a daily basis, but they didn't dare to actually lay a hand on them.

What's more, Liu Baohua is currently doing a global live stream!

Under the watchful eyes of the public, they cannot afford to do anything that violates military discipline; otherwise, they will not only lose face for themselves, but for the entire country.

"Listen carefully, I am the middle-aged woman who was saved by Lin Yang at the train station."

The atmosphere was extremely heavy and eerie. Luna stepped forward, looking at Lin Yang with a determined gaze, two streams of tears flowing down her cheeks.

"When I fainted at the station, although my whole body was convulsing and I couldn't even stand up, I was still conscious."

“I remember everything that happened back then very clearly, and I can even recount it in detail.”

The truth is not what the outside world says at all.

Ouyang Jianfei didn't give her any antibiotics at all; all the rescue efforts were carried out by Lin Yang alone.

It's unclear what the newspapers and media are thinking, or if they simply reject and belittle outsiders, believing that no matter how much they spread rumors, the other side can't do anything about it, so they keep going on and on with their fabrications.

In front of everyone, Luna loudly revealed what had happened at the train station.

With each word she spoke, Liu Baohua and Ouyang Jianfei's faces turned ashen, as if they had swallowed flies.

Reporter Wang also turned pale with guilt and subconsciously wanted to turn off the live broadcast, but Liu Baohua glared at him fiercely and made him turn back.

Am I stupid?

The fact that they deliberately cut off the live stream at this critical juncture just proves that they have something to hide and are afraid to let Luna speak.

The only option now is to grit our teeth and keep peeling back the layers, play it by ear, and see if we can find a loophole in Luna's words before launching a counterattack against Lin Yang.

"Look what you've done!"

Ouyang Jianfei originally came to enjoy Lin Yang's embarrassing behavior, but he didn't expect that Cheng Yaojin would suddenly appear out of nowhere.

Now, Lin Yang is not the only one in the eye of the storm; so is he!

Seeing the situation spiraling out of control, Ouyang Jianfei's temples bulged with veins, and he gritted his teeth, cursing, "Liu Baohua, you good-for-nothing! We've been working together for so long, look how many times you've messed things up!"

Traditional Chinese medicine is inherently a charlatan's art. The fact that he's been friends with Liu Baohua for so long, considering Liu Baohua provided him with access to low-priced medicines, is already a great favor to Liu Baohua.

However, during this trip to Southeast Asia, Liu Baohua repeatedly caused him trouble.

This friend is better off without!

Ouyang Jianfei's mind was in turmoil, but Liu Baohua, standing beside him, remained oblivious to the fact that the powerful figure he had been wholeheartedly fawning over for so many years was now plotting how to distance himself from him, and continued to wag his tail obsequiously at him.

"Mr. Ouyang, don't worry. Lin Yang probably gave these poor people some money to be extras!"

Even if Lin Yang is capable, he has only been in Southeast Asia for two or three days. How could he possibly develop a drug to treat infectious diseases?

Listening to the conversation between the two, reporter Wang dared not breathe, wishing he could just find a place to crawl into.

Meanwhile, Luna had already laid out the whole story.

"After Lin Yang saw that I was awake, he knew that my family was not well-off, so he took out some money from his pocket and told me to go back and buy some nutritious food to help me recover."

"He has a great heart, is always ready to help others, and didn't even leave his name after saving people. How could he be the quack doctor you're talking about?"

Marilyn couldn't help but chime in, expressing her fury at these hypocritical scoundrels:

"That's right. Mr. Lin Yang spent the whole day yesterday picking herbs on the mountain in order to distribute Chinese medicine to everyone. He was worried that there wouldn't be enough. He was wholeheartedly doing this for everyone's benefit. How can you slander him like this?"

Although she only spent a few days with Lin Yang, he had already occupied an unshakeable position in her heart.

"You, you're going to rebel, aren't you?"

Karen had served in the army for so many years and had never seen anything like this before.

In his world, the people are like ants on the roadside. Only strict discipline can demonstrate his authority. Naturally, the people have a bad impression of him and avoid him when they see him on the street.

Karen also believed that this approach would establish her authority among the people and make her a qualified officer.

But why are they all speaking up for Jackson now?

He and Jackson were rivals in the military, and he thought he could take this opportunity to get rid of Jackson and get promoted smoothly. However, just when he was about to succeed, a change of events occurred.

"Yes, we're going to rebel, so what?"

Seeing that Karen still refused to budge, Luna disregarded everything else and rushed forward, trying to break through the wall of soldiers surrounding Lin Yang.

Others followed suit when they saw this.

In terms of combat effectiveness, civilians are naturally no match for well-trained soldiers.

But precisely because they were ordinary civilians, the soldiers dared not use their guns rashly, even if they had them.

If Lin Yang and Jackson were hit, that would be one thing, at least it could be explained as forced enforcement of the law.

But if innocent people are harmed, they will not only face public pressure, but will also be discharged from the military and never be able to serve again.

Luna and the other residents squeezed through the gaps between the soldiers, using their bodies to shield Lin Yang and Jackson from behind, protecting them firmly.
