Chapter 132 Genuine Porcelain

A piece of porcelain from the late Ming Dynasty caught Lin Yang's eye.

Judging from the delicate texture of the porcelain, its soft and unique color, and its exquisite craftsmanship, this piece of porcelain is very likely genuine.

He examined the porcelain piece closely, and the more he looked at it, the more he felt that it was extraordinary.

The old man selling antiques sat to the side, watching Lin Yang's focused expression.

"Young man, what's on your mind?"

Lin Yang raised his head, a hint of excitement in his eyes.

"Sir, I'm quite interested in this piece of porcelain. Where did you get it?"

The old man sighed, his face full of helplessness.

"Sigh, this was passed down in my family, and I don't really understand it."

"Well, someone in my family is hospitalized and urgently needs money, so I thought I'd take it out and sell it to raise some money for the emergency."

Upon hearing this, Lin Yang couldn't help but feel sympathy.

"Excuse me for asking, what illness does your family member have? Does it require so much money? I'm a doctor, perhaps I can help."

The old man thought about what Lin Yang said.

"Sigh, it's my son. He was perfectly fine, but suddenly he felt weak all over."

"I went to the hospital and had a lot of tests done, which cost a lot of money. The doctor couldn't say exactly what was wrong with me, he just said I needed money to continue treatment."

It sounded like a strange illness, and Lin Yang's sense of responsibility as a doctor welled up inside him.

He wanted to visit the patient; if he could find a way to cure the old man's son's illness, he could help the family.

Perhaps I can even get this piece of porcelain I like at a reasonable price.

"Would it be convenient for me to take a look? I'm a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, and I might be able to see some clues. You can use it as a reference," Lin Yang said sincerely.

The old man's face immediately lit up with surprise, and he quickly said...

"That's great! We really know nothing about medicine. It would be perfect to have a doctor to give us some advice. We're just sorry to trouble you."

"No trouble at all. If I really help, just give me a discount on this porcelain."

"Of course it will work, young man," the old man readily agreed.

Just as Lin Yang was about to discuss the price with the old man...

A man dressed in a smart suit and wearing sunglasses walked over.

The man looked quite professional, and his gaze was instantly drawn to the porcelain piece.

He casually picked up the porcelain, glanced at it a few times, and then said to the old man.

"Sir, I'll take this. I'll give you 20,000 yuan."

The old man was conflicted upon hearing this, since he didn't know exactly how much the item was worth.

In his mind, 20,000 was already a considerable sum, enough to solve his family's immediate crisis.

Lin Yang felt that this person was very impolite, and that the porcelain might be genuine.

A piece of Ming Dynasty porcelain would be worth at least a million. He was clearly trying to swindle the old man because he didn't know its value and was in dire need of money.

"I arrived first and haven't finished talking to the old man yet. What you're doing isn't quite in accordance with the rules."

The old man also felt that Lin Yang's words made sense, and quickly said so.

"This young man saw it first, so perhaps..."

The man interrupted the old man, glancing at Lin Yang with disdain.

"Rules? What rules are there in this night market?"

"I'm offering 20,000, that's quite a lot. If you know what's good for you, sir, you should sell it to me quickly."

Lin Yang's anger flared up. He warned himself not to act impulsively and not to compromise his principles over such a trivial matter.

"Sir, I think this matter should be handled according to the rules."

"However, I don't want to take advantage of someone's misfortune. We just agreed that I would go and visit your family member in the hospital first to find out the situation, and then we can talk about other things later."

Lin Yang said this partly because he didn't want to deceive the elderly man who desperately needed the money.

On the other hand, he also wanted to confirm whether what the old man said was true.

When the man who came later heard this, he refused to accept it.

"No, I want to take this today!"

The man reached out to snatch the porcelain bowl from Lin Yang's hand.

Lin Yang dodged to the side, "Is this some kind of forced sale?"

Seeing Lin Yang's agility, the man felt somewhat intimidated, but refused to admit defeat.

"Kid, do you know who I am? You dare to try and steal from me?"

He took out his phone and made a call.

"Hey, third brother, bring a few guys over here. I got bullied at the night market!"

Lin Yang watched the middle-aged man make a phone call for help, but he wasn't afraid.

The surrounding vendors and pedestrians stopped to watch and discuss the scene.

Before long, several burly men with menacing faces rushed over and surrounded Lin Yang.

"Big brother, it's this kid!"

The middle-aged man pointed at Lin Yang and said viciously.

The leading man sized Lin Yang up and down.

"Kid, you've got some nerve, daring to mess with our boss?"

"He was trying to force me to buy and sell; I was just standing up for myself."

"Stop talking nonsense! Get him and teach this kid a lesson!"

The leading man waved his hand, and several of his men rushed forward, throwing punches at Lin Yang.

Lin Yang quickly adjusted his state, and countless coping strategies flashed through his mind.

He skillfully dodged the first man's attack, then followed up with a spinning kick, knocking the man to the ground. Seeing this, the others swarmed forward.

Lin Yang blocked left and dodged right, each movement precise and powerful.

With just a few punches and kicks, he knocked the men off their feet, leaving them sprawled on the ground groaning in pain.

Seeing that his helpers had all been defeated by Lin Yang, the middle-aged man turned pale with fright and turned to run away.

Lin Yang grabbed his collar and lifted him up.

"Trying to run?" Lin Yang said coldly.

"Brother, spare me!" The middle-aged man was terrified and begged for mercy.
