Chapter Sixty-One: There's Always a Place to Keep People Here

"This official, I have found the source of this outbreak. It is the water source on that mountain in the south that was infected by animal carcasses. The bacteria and viruses spread along the water to the town and then into thousands of households."

"Please send someone with me to the mountain immediately to deal with the body, otherwise the situation will become more serious."

Lin Yang recounted the whole story in the shortest and most direct way possible, but he didn't expect that the person in charge of the rescue center wouldn't even have the patience to listen to him finish those few words.

Before he could even take out the prescription he had brought, the person in charge interrupted him, cursing and swearing, his tone and attitude even worse than before.

"You're really good at making up stories!"

"Lin Yang, at the train station, insisted on saving a middle-aged woman in order to show off, and after failing to save her, he even took credit for Mr. Ouyang's work. That's pathetic enough."

"I can't believe you haven't realized your mistake and are still trying to grab attention in such a stupid way!"

The bald-headed manager was furious.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, he hasn't had a good night's sleep. When he finally manages to doze off for a while, he dreams of seeking help from advanced medical teams in various countries to quell this nightmarish pandemic.

I thought that the situation would improve to some extent after the medical team arrived.

Unexpectedly, Lin Yang, this troublemaker, appeared!

He's already busy enough with his work and dealing with the pandemic; he doesn't have time to play house with a little kid like that!

"Guards! Throw him out!"

The bald-headed manager didn't even bother to look at Lin Yang again, and directly waved his hand to call over the security guards of the rescue center, intending to use violence.

Lin Yang secretly reached into his robes, just as he pulled out a silver needle to freeze the person, when Liu Baohua, who had been watching the commotion for a long time, suddenly spoke up.

He had clearly seen the whole thing, but he pretended to be unaware of it.

"No wonder there was all this noise, manager. What happened? Is this patient seeking treatment at the rescue center?"

Liu Baohua smiled warmly, his kindness practically written all over his face.

If Lin Yang hadn't known his character beforehand, he might have been fooled by his pretentious act.

But now, Lin Yang felt goosebumps all over his body.

He had seen hypocrites before, but there were very few in this world who could be as hypocritical as Liu Baohua.

It wasn't until Liu Baohua slowly approached with his hands behind his back that he pretended to see Lin Yang's face clearly, feigning surprise: "Oh my, isn't this the divine doctor Lin Yang? How did you end up in such a sorry state?"

He looked Lin Yang up and down, and couldn't help but laugh when he saw that Lin Yang's clothes and shoes were covered in mud.

Tsk tsk.

It seems Lin Yang is having a tough time out there!

This small Southeast Asian country is notoriously economically backward. The International Aid Center dormitory is the most luxurious place in the entire city, but it can only be considered average by world standards.

Lin Yang didn't check into the dormitory. Could he be sleeping under a bridge?

Thinking of this, Liu Baohua's smile deepened.

“Hey, manager, I’m not trying to be mean, but Lin Yang is a rescue doctor from China. Even if we don’t have any rooms available in our dorms, we can’t just stand by and watch him end up on the streets.”

"Lin Yang, stop being stubborn. What I said before about letting you sleep on the bathroom floor in my room still stands. Do you want to reconsider?"

"Don't worry, I won't mind that you were covered in viruses yesterday. After all, I'm a doctor and I have medical ethics."

The way the person in charge treated Liu Baohua was completely different from how they treated Lin Yang.

He had just been glaring at Lin Yang, but the moment he turned to Liu Baohua, he was like a completely different person: "Dr. Liu is so virtuous. We're both practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine, both Chinese, so why is there such a big difference between us?"

The implication behind the words is self-evident.

"Are you sure you want to kick me out?" Seeing the two of them practically hooking their arms around each other's shoulders and calling each other brothers, Lin Yang's last bit of hope for the rescue center vanished.

It seems that Liu Baohua and Ouyang Jianfei have already taken over the entire rescue center.

He couldn't intervene.

Since that's the case, then we can only rely on ourselves.

If urban residents are willing to follow his advice, use filtered Chinese medicinal herbs to obtain pure water, and take medication on time for treatment or prevention, the epidemic can be brought under control quickly.

"I'm going to bomb you!"

"Lin Yang, let me tell you, pack your bags and get out of my country. A vicious scoundrel like you, from now on, even if I see you on the street, let alone at the rescue center, I'll have my soldiers kick you out of town. Do you hear me?"

The bald-headed official was, after all, a government official within the system, and thus held some military power.

He wasn't saying this to scare Lin Yang.

Once Lin Yang shows his face in town, he's capable of anything.

It wasn't that he was heartless, but for the sake of the health and safety of all the country's residents, he had to eliminate all possible harmful factors completely.

This includes Lin Yang.

"I'm sorry, Lin Yang, you heard what the person in charge said. It's not that I don't want to help you, but I can't help you either." Liu Baohua said sarcastically in a very regretful tone, but his eyes were full of schadenfreude. "Of course, there is another way to make sure you have a place in the rescue center."

“If you are willing to merge Zhongxing Medical Center into Zhonghua Traditional Chinese Medicine Center, I am not unable to speak to the leadership and ask them to arrange an extra bed for you in the dormitory corridor.”

That's a brilliant plan, incredibly shrewd.

The bald-headed manager, unaware of the full story, admired Liu Baohua's magnanimity even more, simply attributing it to his tolerance and generosity.

"You're dreaming!"

Without a second thought, Lin Yang refused again.

Zhongxing Medical Center has no need for malicious individuals to interfere, and the foundation of traditional Chinese medicine passed down from our ancestors will not tolerate such an immoral existence.

If this place doesn't want you, there are plenty of other places that will.

Since the person in charge of the rescue center could not be communicated with, Lin Yang decided not to waste any more time and turned to leave, deciding to find a place to set up a stall for free medical consultation and distribute traditional Chinese medicine decoctions for treating infectious diseases.

No one believes what he says, but people will always believe in the real effects of traditional Chinese medicine.

Lin Yang walked along the street for quite a while, with fully armed soldiers following behind him.

Needless to say, it must have been sent by that bald-headed manager to monitor him.

Lin Yang wasn't annoyed and continued walking forward.

As time went by and the distance increased, the buildings on both sides of the road became increasingly dilapidated, and it had already reached the outskirts of the city.

Only when the soldiers behind Lin Yang were certain that he would not cause any more trouble did they return to the city, turning back every few steps.

The two soldiers walked listlessly, looking quite ill; they had none of the spirit and energy expected of soldiers of a nation.
