Chapter 159 The Spy Butler

Before Lin Yang collapsed, he managed to turn his head, only to vaguely see the young butler's indifferent face.

And the gleaming syringe in his hand.

Zhao Tianbao's cane fell to the ground with a dull thud.

He stared in disbelief at what was happening before his eyes.

What are you doing?

The young butler, Xiao Fang, put the syringe back in his pocket with a cold face, clapped his hands, and showed some disgust at his previous interaction with Lin Yang.

"You're getting old, it's time for you to rest. There are some things you shouldn't worry about, and don't need to worry about anymore."

He bent down to pick up the walking stick, wiped it clean with a handkerchief, and returned it to Zhao Tianbao.

Zhao Tianbao awkwardly took the cane, looking at the butler in front of him who was both familiar and unfamiliar, and he was even a little unsteady on his feet.

Xiao Fang dragged a chair over for him and asked him to sit down.

"Please don't blame me, I was just following orders."

He walked to Lin Yang's side, bent down, and skillfully checked Lin Yang's pulse, confirming that Lin Yang was only unconscious.

He took the treasure map from Lin Yang's hand, carefully folded it, and put it into his pocket.

After doing all this, he slowly turned around and looked at Zhao Tianbao, whose face was grave.

"Xiao Fang, what are you doing? Why are you doing this?"

Zhao Tianbao asked in a trembling voice.

Looking at the young people I've nurtured for several years, I can't help but feel a little heartbroken.

Xiao Fang revealed a sinister smile that was different from before, and his eyes behind his glasses became sharp.

"I'm sorry, I had no choice in the matter."

He casually took off his glasses, threw them on the ground, and stomped on the lenses until they shattered.

He tore off his disguise, revealing his true colors.

Her eyes were devoid of any emotion; there was no trace of her previous humility and meekness.

He explained to Zhao Tianbao that he was not a butler at all, but a member of a Japanese group, and his real name was Watanabe.

He ripped off his suit jacket, revealing a tight-fitting black bodysuit underneath.

Watanabe looked down at Zhao Tianbao, his tone devoid of warmth.

"I've been lying in wait by your side for years, just waiting for this day to get the treasure map."

He took a photo out of his pocket and handed it to Zhao Tianbao.

The photo shows a young woman holding a child, her face beaming with happiness.

"For their sake, I must complete the mission."

The photo was quite touching, but that wasn't enough to make Zhao Tianbao accept his betrayal.

He always regarded Xiao Fang as family, but he never expected that he was raising a tiger that would eventually harm him.

He slumped into the chair, his tone dejected.

"Then you shouldn't treat me like this. I had such high hopes for you and even wanted to mentor you."

"Don't be naive. Do you think the Black Skull organization just wants the treasure map?"

"Their collaboration is far deeper than you imagine; the treasure map is just one part of the plan."

Zhao Tianbao had some suspicions, but he was still quite surprised to hear Watanabe say it out loud.

Watanabe showed no reaction to Zhao Tianbao's shock.

He stood up and paced back and forth in the secret room, looking for anything else of value.

“I will take you with me today, Teacher Zhao. You have many secrets about Chinese cultural relics, which are of great value to our plan.”

Zhao Tianbao's lips trembled involuntarily with anger, and the finger pointing at Watanabe swayed with his body.

It took a lot of effort for him to stand up.

"Even if I die, I will not let you succeed!"

He swung his cane with all his might at Watanabe.

But the old man moved slowly, and Watanabe easily dodged him.

Watanabe impatiently helped him up, took out a syringe from his pocket, and casually stuck it into his neck.

Zhao Tianbao gripped his shoulders tightly, stared at him with wide eyes, and then fell forward uncontrollably.

Watanabe gently placed him on the ground and checked his pulse.

After confirming that both of them were unconscious, they prepared to leave the secret room.

Suddenly, a strange noise came from the entrance to the secret chamber, emanating from the outside of the stone door.

"Someone's coming! Quick!"

He dragged the unconscious Lin Yang and Zhao Tianbao to a secluded corner of the secret room.

There were some miscellaneous items piled up there, which could temporarily cover their bodies.

He walked to the center of the secret room and pressed an inconspicuous button, activating the room's self-destruct mechanism.

After doing all this, Watanabe quickly escaped through another secret exit of the secret room.

Inside the sealed room, red warning lights began flashing wildly, indicating that the self-destruct device was about to detonate.

"Cough cough..."

Zhao Tianbao coughed twice and woke up from his coma.

It is estimated that Watanabe was concerned about his fragile heart and only injected him with half a dose of medicine.

He looked up and saw the flashing warning lights. He hurriedly struggled to his feet and shook Lin Yang beside him forcefully.

"Wake up."

Lin Yang showed no reaction; his face was pale and his breathing was shallow.

Zhao Tianbao's vision blurred for a moment due to the violent movement, and he also felt a dull pain in his chest.

He leaned against the wall and slapped himself hard across the face, forcing himself to stay awake.

The warning lights flashed faster and faster, the alarm became increasingly shrill, and an unsettling, burnt smell wafted into his nostrils.

Zhao Tianbao gritted his teeth and tried to wake Lin Yang again.

"Wake up! We have to get out of here!"

Lin Yang's eyelids twitched, and he finally let out a low moan.

He slowly opened his eyes and looked around blankly.

What happened?

Outside the secret room, Ding Na is trying to open the door.

During her previous interactions with Lin Yang, she secretly implanted a chip in him when he wasn't looking.

If Lin Yang encounters danger, the chip will send her a message.

She had just returned to the company and entered the new data into the company computer when the notification message arrived.

She sped along the GPS tracker to Zhao Tianbao's house.

They bypassed the gatekeeper and climbed over the back wall to enter.

As soon as she stepped into the courtyard, she sensed something was wrong.

The entire courtyard was eerily quiet.

Ding Na quickly launched a search and, relying on her extensive experience as a secret agent, soon found the entrance to the secret room.

The mechanism in this secret room wasn't particularly innovative, and she quickly found the button to open the door.

She confidently pressed the button, but nothing happened.

I pressed the button several more times, but the door to the secret room still didn't respond at all.

I'm practically breaking the buttons.

"It seems that the mechanism of this gate has been sabotaged."

"This is a bit troublesome."

She located the control mechanism and violently dismantled the panel.

Sparks flew everywhere inside, and various wires were tangled haphazardly.

It's clear that the secret room door can no longer be opened by normal means.

Ding Na pressed herself against the stone door, sensing the information emanating from inside the secret chamber.

"Lin Yang, are you inside?"

She called out through the door, but there was naturally no response from inside.

I listened carefully to the sounds inside and could faintly hear the alarm going off again.

It seems the situation inside is far from optimistic!

"Lin Yang!"
