Chapter 6 Digging Ginseng (1/2)

After dinner, Old Mrs. Huang arranged for Chen Jingui to take care of Huang Jingjing at home as usual.

Tao Chunhua and Huang Erniu were asked to weed in the fields.

"Mom, I worked the whole day yesterday. The rest can be done by my eldest brother and third brother."

Of course, Old Mrs. Huang understood what that meant. He just had finished his part of the work and didn't want to do any other work.

Old Mrs. Huang sneered, "You wishful thinking, your eldest brother is working in the mines, and he only comes back a few days a month!

"Your third brother is studying in a private school in this town. If you don't work, what do you want to do?

"You're such a grown man, but your head is full of shit every day? If you don't want to work, don't eat!"

Huang Erniu saw that Old Lady Huang looked as if she had been struck by firecrackers, and he dared not say a word.

Tao Chunhua originally thought that Huang Erniu would be able to hold out, but she didn't expect him to back down so quickly.

Although she tried her best to wink at Huang Erniu, Huang Erniu just pretended not to see.

Under the constant beating and scolding from Old Lady Huang, the two men had no choice but to carry their hoes and go to the fields.

Although Tao Chunhua didn't dare to scold Old Lady Huang, she would always go near Huang Erniu.

Huang Erniu had been scolded by Old Lady Huang early in the morning and was feeling unhappy. Then he saw Tao Chunhua chirping again and he was so angry that he slapped Tao Chunhua in the face.

Tao Chunhua threw the hoe in her hand and pounced towards Huang Erniu, scratching and clawing him.

"You damned bastard, what else can you do besides beating your own wife? Your mother is riding on your head and shitting on you, and you dare to say a word?"

Huang Erniu was also very angry just now, and he regretted it after the fight.

So later, whenever Tao Chunhua hit and tickled him, he just kept dodging.

After sending the two men away, Old Lady Huang went up the mountain carrying the basket.

She remembered that in her previous life, someone in the village dug up a ginseng from the mountain and sold it for dozens of taels of silver.

At that time, she was drooling with envy.

Because there was no ginseng left in that piece of land, the man didn't hide.

Mrs. Huang wanted to dig up the ginseng before she could chase that man away.

The villagers often go to the mountains nearby and are very familiar with them.

Relying on her memories from her previous life, Old Mrs. Huang found the place that man mentioned.

This place is really remote, it is on the back of a huge rock.

This huge rock blocks the sunlight, which is exactly the environment that ginseng likes to grow.

She carefully climbed over the boulder and saw the solitary ginseng.

There are emerald green leaves with a cluster of small red flowers on the top.

The moment she saw ginseng, her eyes lit up.

Digging ginseng is a delicate job. First, you have to tie the ginseng with red silk thread and then dig it out bit by bit.

After tying a red rope around the roots, Old Lady Huang began to dig gently with a small hoe.

After digging for about half an hour, a whole ginseng was taken out without even a root.

She looked at it carefully and couldn't help but sigh that such a small piece was actually worth dozens of taels of silver.

When she got home, Huang Erniu and Tao Chunhua had just come out of the fields, both with wounds on their faces.

Old Mrs. Huang saw it at the first glance, but she said nothing and pretended not to see it.

"Mom, what have you been doing?"

Old Mrs. Huang put the basket on the ground and said, "I went to the back mountain to dig some ginseng."

"Ginseng?" Huang Erniu's eyes widened when he heard it and he hurried over to take a look.

Tao Chunhua was not to be outdone and reached out to grab the basket.

Old Lady Huang tapped their hands with a fire poker and said, "Get out of here!"

Huang Erniu said happily: "Mom, I heard that ginseng is very valuable. I will take it to the town to sell it later."
