Chapter 102: The deceased biological father suddenly came to the door
"Azhu, she is my sister now." The man remained calm.
"Yes, I almost forgot that she is your parents' goddaughter." Lu Zhenzhu closed her eyes again, feeling a chill in her heart.
Double standard dog.
She didn't want other men around her, but she refused to keep her distance from Jiang Sesu.
Fortunately, she didn't have too much hope for Gu Huai.
Gu Huai put his arm around her shoulders and held her in his arms. "Sese and I will only be brother and sister. Ah Zhu, trust me, I will be a good husband and a good father."
Lu Zhenzhu nodded perfunctorily, and then she felt the man kiss her cheek.
There was no ripple in her heart.
Just listen to these words.
Lu Zhenzhu thought Gu Huai was just talking, but she didn't expect that he hadn't contacted Jiang Sese for nearly a month.
There was no contact overtly, and she had no idea whether they met secretly behind her back.
During this month, Gu Huai was indeed a good husband and also learned to be a good father. The two seemed to have returned to their previous way of getting along.
While sharpening a pencil, Lu Zhenzhu was a little confused and accidentally cut her finger.
She woke up instantly, covered the wound with paper, and went downstairs to find a Band-Aid.
Aunt Zhang took out the medicine box to disinfect her, but couldn't find a Band-Aid.
"Ma'am, I'll go buy it for you right away."
Lu Zhenzhu shook her head and said, "I can just order takeout."
The wound was not deep, and she pressed it with a cotton swab for a while and the bleeding stopped. She placed an order on the food delivery app, and the food was delivered half an hour later. Aunt Zhang went out to get the food, but came back with a serious expression.
"What's wrong?" Lu Zhenzhu put on the Band-Aid.
"Madam, I just went out to get takeout, and the deliveryman told me that there was a man sneaking around near our house, so I kept an eye out and hid in the dark behind closed doors. And there really was a man wandering around our house, his eyes fixed on our house."
Aunt Zhang frowned, "Madam, is there anyone targeting this place?"
"Let me give Mr. Gu a call and tell him."
A sneaky man?
Lu Zhenzhu stopped her, "Don't tell Gu Huai yet, I'll handle this matter."
She went to her former bodyguard again and told him what had happened. He responded to her quickly.
"Miss Lu, we'll send someone over right away. Don't alert the enemy. We'll just surround him and capture him."
Half an hour later, Lu Zhenzhu received a call from the bodyguard and asked Aunt Zhang to open the door.
When Aunt Zhang arrived at the door, two bodyguards were restraining a middle-aged man. The man was wearing a suit, sunglasses, and a watch on his wrist. He didn't look like a poor man.
The middle-aged man struggled angrily, "Let me go."
The bodyguard ignored him and took him to see Lu Zhenzhu.
Hearing the voice, Lu Zhenzhu raised her head and her eyes fell on the middle-aged man's face. Even though he was wearing sunglasses, she still felt that his eyebrows and eyes were familiar.
"Take off your sunglasses."
The middle-aged man's hands were grabbed, and the bodyguard took off his sunglasses without saying a word.
The middle-aged man's face appeared completely in Lu Zhenzhu's eyes. Her heart trembled suddenly. The man's facial features overlapped with those when he was young. Her throat tightened and the word was stuck in her throat. She couldn't say it out.
Instead, the middle-aged man was eager, "Zhenzhu, I am your father. Do you still remember your father?"
Zhao Pingquan asked and then answered himself, "When I left, you were already in junior high school. You must have recognized your father."
"Hurry up and tell them to let Dad go."
Lu Zhenzhu's heart was in turmoil, but she calmed down and asked the bodyguard to let go of Zhao Pingquan.
The bodyguard left after finishing his business. Aunt Zhang brought a cup of tea and couldn't help but glance at Zhao Pingquan.
She had never heard that the wife had a father who was still alive, so why didn't he show up at the wedding? Her daughter had been married for so long, and he had never shown up.
"Zhenzhu, why don't you talk to your father? Could it be that you don't remember your father?" Zhao Pingquan took a sip of tea and felt that this was not right. His daughter had a good memory since she was a child.
"Sir, my father died when I was in junior high school." Lu Zhenzhu sneered, "My father has never appeared in my dreams in all these years. I have long forgotten what he looked like."
Hearing her hidden meaning, Zhao Pingquan lowered his head. When he raised it again, his face was pale and guilty.
"Zhenzhu, Dad had his own reasons. I didn't mean to hide it from you. Your mom and I didn't want to hurt you, so we made up a lie to tell you that Dad is not dead."
"If you're not dead, then where have you been all these years? Why don't you come to see me?"
She was as calm as could be, as if she was asking a stranger, with no emotion ups and downs.
Zhao Pingquan replied guiltily, "It's not that Dad doesn't want to see you, it's your mom who won't let you."
"You are daddy's precious daughter. How could daddy not want to see you? It's your mom who is narrow-minded and won't let me see you."
"Mom doesn't let you see me, so you really won't see me?" Lu Zhenzhu found it extremely ridiculous.
"Even when we were at home, I never saw you listen to your mother so much."
Zhao Pingquan's expression froze, and he explained weakly, "Husband and wife don't have to listen to everything you say. You're married now, so you should know that every couple has quarrels."
Change the subject.
Lu Zhenzhu's lips twitched. "Mom told you not to come see me, so what are you doing here now?"
Zhao Pingquan looked a little unnatural. He didn't expect her to be so nosy.
He imagined that when his daughter saw him, she would be so excited that she would come to hug him, and the father and daughter would reminisce about the good old days, instead of asking him questions that he didn't want to answer like now.
"Dad just came to see if you were doing well. Although Dad didn't show up to see you, he has been secretly paying attention to you. Otherwise, he wouldn't know your address."
He looked at her lovingly.
Secretly following her?
Why didn't he come to help when his mother died? After all, they were married and their divorce was amicable. Why didn't he come to see his ex-wife after she died? Leaving his daughter alone to deal with the aftermath.
She had gone through so many things recently, but he didn't come out to care about her.
Now that she suddenly appeared, Lu Zhenzhu was no longer a child. She knew that Zhao Pingquan must have other purposes for coming to her at this time.
"I'm doing fine. Now you know that. You can go."
She got up and went upstairs.
"Aunt Zhang, please send the guests out later."
Aunt Zhang responded.
Zhao Pingquan was anxious, "Zhenzhu, why don't you talk to your father more? Dad has missed you all these years."
He pulled Lu Zhenzhu's arm, worried that she would go up, and used a lot of force.
The pain in her arm chilled Lu Zhenzhu's heart, "You hurt me."
Zhao Pingquan reacted and quickly let go, then stood in front of her again, "Zhenzhu, I'm sorry, Daddy missed you so much, I was so excited that I didn't care..."
Seeing that he is still pretending to be a loving father, Lu Zhenzhu spoke.
"Stop pretending. You suddenly came to me. What do you want from me? Just tell me directly."
