Chapter 124: Finding a lawyer will result in the same outcome
She called her lawyer, but no one answered.
Lu Zhenzhu lowered her eyes and dialed the front desk number of his law firm.
After the front desk answered the phone, she explained the situation.
"Ms. Lu, before Lawyer Yuan resigned, he transferred all his work to other lawyers. I just asked, and no lawyer took your case. This might be a private job Lawyer Yuan took on. He has now resigned. I will try to contact him and call you once I get through."
Lu Zhenzhu hummed, then asked, "Did he tell her about his resignation in advance?"
The receptionist replied, "No, Lawyer Yuan left suddenly and didn't have time to hand over some specific work."
Lu Zhenzhu seemed to be thinking about something, so she hung up the phone. After a while, she came out of the bathroom and glanced at the man who was working.
Gu Huai noticed her gaze and looked at her.
"What's wrong?"
Lu Zhenzhu shook her head, "It's okay, I just wanted to see you."
"I'm yours, you can look at me as long as you want. Want to sit by the bed and watch?" He chuckled, looking pleased.
She sat on the sofa and said, "I'm not short-sighted. You go to work."
Lu Zhenzhu lowered her head. Lawyer Yuan’s sudden resignation was most likely related to Gu Huai.
He knew that she had secretly found someone to file for divorce, and Gu Huai should have seen the evidence of his infidelity that she had from his lawyer.
He didn't question her. Did he not take it seriously at all, or did he think that she couldn't get a divorce even with all the evidence in her hands?
She used her phone to search for divorce lawyers in Taipei and turned down the volume.
A lawyer recounted the whole story of her client's discovery of her cheating husband and their divorce. Her story was fascinating, and Lu Zhenzhu listened attentively, reading the comments section while listening.
A slender hand reached out and took her phone away. Gu Huai glanced at it and threw it on the sofa, his brows unhappy and his tone heavy.
“Are you curious about the stories she tells, or do you want to learn from them?”
He grabbed the woman's hand and pressed it against his wound, "I've given you several chances."
"You threaten me with your life because you think I care about you and will never kill you?" Lu Zhenzhu raised her face.
"Gu Huai, I didn't kill you because I didn't want to bear such heavy consequences, not because I couldn't bear to leave you."
She looked at his wound and said calmly, "I filed for divorce and you resorted to the same old tricks. It's really hard for us to get a divorce, but people's patience is limited. Even a rabbit will bite when it's angry."
Lu Zhenzhu lowered her head, nonchalantly, "Besides, don't you know I'm looking for a lawyer to file for divorce? Thanks to you, the lawyer resigned from the firm and blocked me."
She paused, laughed, and corrected herself.
"I was wrong. If it weren't for you, this would be your handiwork."
Gu Huai was not ashamed of being exposed by her. He sat down next to her and put his arm around her shoulders.
"The lawyer you hired can block you once. If you hire another lawyer, they'll just block you again. Why not just give up?"
The forced smile on Lu Zhenzhu's face disappeared, and she turned her head away. "Are you laughing at me?"
Seeing her unhappy expression, Gu Huai lowered his head and kissed her face, whispering to her comfortingly, "Azhu, I don't want you to think about divorce again. Let's live a good life, just like before."
Like before?
Lu Zhenzhu glared at him sneerfully.
"I don't have a photographic memory, but I can remember the things that happened during this period for the rest of my life. As long as I see you and Jiang Sesur, I can remember them and live my life as before? Gu Huai, are you naive or do you think I'm particularly stupid and easy to fool?"
Gu Huai's expression remained unchanged. "Can't we just let go of those things?"
"I told you, I'll send Sese away once she recovers. She won't bother us again."
He touched her belly with his hand, "Don't be angry, pregnant woman."

Gu Huai didn't even think about solving the problem and avoided answering.
Lu Zhenzhu pushed his hand away, smiled and stopped talking.
She was too lazy to argue with Gu Huai.
"What disease did Jiang Sesu have?" Lu Zhenzhu was a little curious.
Before Gu Huai could say anything, the door of the ward was pushed open from the outside, and Mother Gu ran straight to Lu Zhenzhu, "Zhenzhu, let's go shopping. The clothes you wore before don't fit you anymore now that you're pregnant. Mom will take you to buy new clothes."

Lu Zhenzhu asked with a smile, "Mom, since I married Gu Huai, have you ever gone shopping with me?"

She tried to deal with it by evading his gaze, but Gu Huai knew what was going on.
"Mom, tell me, why did you come to see Ah Zhu?"
Mother Gu glanced at Lu Zhenzhu and pulled Gu Huai outside to a quiet place.
"The last time I took her for a prenatal checkup, it was to see if her bone marrow was compatible with Sese's. The doctor said her bone marrow was suitable and could be transplanted to Sese."
"We owe her mother a life. Saving her life this time will be considered repaying the debt."
Gu Huai frowned, "I don't agree, she's pregnant."
"We've asked the doctor, and he's said it won't harm the baby, so don't worry." Mother Gu glared at him, "She's carrying the Gu family's child. It's not just you who's heartbroken, it's me too."
