Jiang Leyue was filled with remorse. Why did she come in without knocking again?
Her older brother clearly told her not to contact him today!
She could only turn around with her head down, bow, and say, "This servant greets you, sir. I will not disturb you any longer."
Wang Yichun waved his hand, "Le'an is like family to me, come and eat with us. Your brother said this wine is very delicious."
Jiang Leyue looked up and pitifully gazed at Jiang Le'an.
Jiang Le'an's forehead veins bulged, but he could only smile and say, "Didn't you hear what the master said? Come here now!"
Wang Yichun enthusiastically took the wine and poured a glass for Jiang Leyue, saying, "Come on, let's drink together!"
After being forced to drink three glasses of wine by Wang Yichun, Jiang Leyue's cheeks flushed red, and she felt dizzy. Supporting her head with one hand, she said painfully, "Brother, I'm so dizzy~"
Wang Yichun stared straight at her, then raised his hand and grasped Jiang Leyue's hand, gently touching it.
Jiang Le'an stood up and bowed. "My lord, my younger sister is not a good drinker. She vomits uncontrollably after drinking too much, which might offend your eyes. Please let her go and rest."
Jiang Leyue immediately started gagging.
Wang Yichun was startled and immediately let go of her hand. "Okay, okay, go down now. We'll have dinner together next time."
After Jiang Leyue was helped down, Wang Yichun smiled wistfully, "Miaomiao, what a wonderful person!"
Jiang Le'an raised his glass to toast him, "Sir, you don't know this, but my parents passed away early. My younger sister and I depended on each other since I was a child. She was spoiled by me and became reckless and impulsive."
Wang Yichun smiled and said, "It's better for a woman to be a little arrogant. If she listens to everything you say, then she'll be less interesting."
Jiang Le'an could only nod.
He couldn't let his younger sister stay; he had to send her away as soon as possible.
Inside the main hall of Haizhen Pavilion, the woman who was settling Ye Panjiu's bill was introducing the precious marine products to other guests.
She heard the door open, glanced sideways, and saw Ye Panjiu come out of the small room with the hidden door. Her eyes darted around.
After leaving Haizhen Pavilion, Ye Panjiu headed towards Hailezhai, her heart pounding. Now she was certain that Jiang Le'an must have enough evidence to bring down the Wang family!
Wang Helu, Consort Wang, Wang Yichun, and other important officials of the Wang family can all use this evidence to expose them in one fell swoop!
Just as they reached the door, Heng Tong pulled Ye Panjiu behind him and shook his head.
The door opened in front of the two, revealing Yan Yu's face, with a veil on her head.
Heng Tong breathed a sigh of relief. "You didn't even tell me beforehand."
Yan Yu peeked out and looked around. "Come in quickly."
After the two entered the house, Yan Yu quickly closed the door.
He bowed to Ye Panjiu and said, "Please forgive me, both of you. It is only because the situation is urgent that Yan Yu suddenly entered your room."
Ye Panjiu waved her hand, "It's nothing. What did you mean by waving your hand earlier?"
Yan Yu straightened up and said softly, "Wang Yichun submitted a memorial saying that there are frequent shipwrecks and requested a tax reduction this year. The lord has always wanted to come to Yangzhou to investigate the Wang family, and he came under the pretext of this matter."
Ye Panjiu frowned; she had a feeling that something was amiss.
She could see it clearly from upstairs and always felt that Yan Yu and Su Yan were not getting along like they used to.
"Did your parents say how to investigate?"
Yan Yu shook her head. "The lord left before entering the city, and I cannot contact him. Today's one is fake."
Ye Panjiu stood up anxiously, "I've already found out a lot, and I've figured out the key points, how can I not get in touch with them?"
Su Yan was essentially admitting that he was investigating alone, leaving Yan Yu's side as a mere decoy.
Although it would be safer for him not to contact the fake Su Yan, she can't find him now!
Yan Yu knelt on one knee. "Miss Ye, the master would not want you to come to Yangzhou, a place of great power and danger. You should go back first."
Just as Ye Panjiu was about to speak, a commotion arose outside the door.
"Get out of the way! If you let the thieves go, you'll all be in deep trouble!"
"Official business is being handled; bystanders please leave!"
Yan Yu's expression changed. She opened the window and looked down. The area below was completely surrounded by soldiers.
Heng Tong pointed to the ceiling, "You can get to the next room from this beam. The girl has already planned her escape route!"
Ye Panjiu had already packed the two of their very few belongings.
Heng Tong put one arm around her waist, and the two of them flew up onto the roof beam and went to the house across the street.
Yan Yu immediately followed; he couldn't possibly be there.
The two originally lived by the sea, but the house opposite was on the street, where people came and went, and the soldiers had not yet managed to reserve the area.
Hengtong jumped onto another rooftop, scaling walls and running quickly.
Yan Yu hurried on; he wouldn't be at ease until he saw Miss Ye leave Yangzhou.
Behind the three, dozens of people followed quickly, keeping pace with them closely.
This was completely different from the small fry and crab generals sent by Wang Yichun; they were clearly trained martial arts practitioners.
Yan Yu felt this was a bit tricky. "Heng Tong, let's split up!"
Heng Tong quickly turned left, which gave Ye Panjiu goosebumps all over. "There's someone shooting arrows from the high ground on the right!"
The sound of an arrow piercing the wind came, brushing past a strand of Ye Panjiu's hair.
Ye Panjiu was so frightened that she involuntarily gripped Heng Tong's shoulder tightly.
This is way beyond the scope of the curriculum!
She had no idea where she had been exposed!
Hengtong quickly descended and landed in the street.
The streets were teeming with people, and the pursuers behind them, now half their original number, slowed down considerably.
Ye Panjiu frowned. "Let's go down the alley!"
Heng Tong stopped and turned into the alley. Without Ye Panjiu saying anything more, she started to wander around.
Fortunately, during her stay in Yangzhou, Ye Panjiu drew a map, which she memorized.
The alleyways were short and narrow, and Hengtong finally shook off his pursuers.
But she didn't dare stop, her steps quickening.
Suddenly, a hand appeared on the road and shoved her into a small courtyard.
She was completely powerless to resist.
"Don't come out!"
Ye Panjiu's eye twitched, and she quickly patted Heng Tong, "Stop, it's Su Yan."
If she wasn't mistaken, the person at the door was an old man with a cane, right?
Heng Tong was startled. "My lord?"
Did the adult take the wrong medicine? How did they age so much all of a sudden?
Before I could ask, they had already arrived with hurried steps.
Su Yan was bent over, juggling a broken ceramic bowl in his hand.
The cracks on the rim of the ceramic bowl resemble a spider web.
He walked over and then took a few steps back.
The menacing pursuer grabbed Su Yan by the collar. "You old geezer, did you see two women walk by just now?"
Su Yan was so frightened that he trembled and shook his head, dropping the earthenware bowl on the ground.
The pursuer shoved him aside, saying, "If it's not here, look for it somewhere else!"
Su Yan fell to the ground, coughing and clutching his collar.
The two pursuers hurriedly ran away again.
He waited for quite a while before going into the courtyard.
Heng Tong quickly bowed, "My lord."
Ye Panjiu raised an eyebrow at the old man in front of her.
Unless he reveals it himself, you really can't see anything wrong with this look.
I didn't realize this person was such a good actor.
Su Yan waved his hand and asked urgently, "Pan Jiu, why did you come to Yangzhou? Yangzhou is too dangerous."
