Su Yan squeezed her fingers. "It seems the Di family is on the decline."
Ye Panjiu snorted coldly, "I think Di Yunxin is a very principled person, she definitely won't see him."
Su Yan hopped off the carriage on one foot and watched her step down. "Welcome. I've always felt that the Su residence was missing you."
Ye Panjiu stepped off the stool and went behind him to check on his injury.
Thankfully, there's no more bleeding today.
She discovered that Su Yan was incredibly resilient to pain; despite being so badly injured, she never heard him utter a single cry of pain or a single complaint.
She considers herself to be very good at managing her emotions, and even when she is sick or uncomfortable, she finds it hard to control her sadness.
Su Yan grabbed her hand again and jumped towards the Su residence.
Ye Panjiu knocked on the brass ring.
The gatekeeper opened the door, poked his head out, and upon seeing Su Yan, his eyes widened in surprise, "Sir!"
He turned around and shouted inside, "Come quick! The master is back!"
He then opened the door.
The people in the Su residence were originally excited to come and see Su Yan, to welcome him back.
When they saw Ye Panjiu, they all looked her up and down.
The gatekeeper, seeing the injuries on Su Yan's body, burst into tears and asked, crying, "Sir, what happened to these injuries on you?"
Su Yan smiled and said, "It's alright, let's go in first."
He then took the lead and hopped forward on one foot.
He became increasingly skilled at hopping on one leg; martial artists are naturally exceptionally balanced.
Ye Panjiu couldn't help but laugh as she watched this scene.
"Girl, what would you like to eat? I'll cook for you tonight!" Aunt Lai, the cook, asked happily.
Ye Panjiu smiled and said, "Thank you, Auntie, I'm not picky."
“Girl, what color do you like? I’ll make you a few outfits. Oh dear, there’s always a shortage of fabric in this house; we can’t possibly have enough clothes for all of us,” said the embroiderer, Aunt Hua, with a smile.
Ye Panjiu replied, "Thank you, ma'am. I have plenty of clothes, so there's no need for you to trouble yourself."
Even the coachman Zhou Dahong came over, saying, "Miss, you're the first woman to enter the mansion!"
Ye Panjiu smiled.
I was a little overwhelmed by their enthusiasm.
Su Yan jumped back and grasped Ye Panjiu's hand, "Everyone, go ahead and get busy."
After saying that, he pulled her along and continued dancing.
Ye Panjiu nodded to everyone and quickly followed Su Yan.
She thought that if she came to the Su residence, the people there would think she was someone who didn't follow proper etiquette and would give her the cold shoulder.
But all I felt was their heartfelt welcome; their enthusiasm was genuinely sincere.
"It seems there are very few people in your household?"
Su Yan nodded. "If they hadn't been kneeling at the door, desperate and with nowhere else to go, I wouldn't have taken them in. I don't like crowds; quiet is best."
"Oh, I see. They're so welcoming to me."
"They're not enthusiastic at all. I don't know why, but everyone who comes to the manor, after staying a while, becomes worried about my personal life all day long, and tries all sorts of ways to show their concern for me, urging me to get married as soon as possible."
Su Yan frowned. "I got impatient listening to them and gave them the cold shoulder, and only then did they dare not mention it again."
Ye Panjiu laughed; this was just a way of pressuring her to get married.
It's still a couple of n people pressuring each other to get married.
It's devastating just thinking about it.
Perhaps because she and Su Yan were both orphans, they were quite understanding of each other's lack of family and relatives.
The Su residence has few people, but it is quite large.
Artificial hills and flowing water, empty houses everywhere.
Ye Panjiu followed for a while before arriving at the main hall. "You have too many empty rooms in this house."
"It was bestowed by His Majesty because it is close to the Meridian Gate."
In the lobby, there was a peacock wood openwork screen, several mahogany armchairs, and a beautifully blooming Phalaenopsis orchid on the table.
Ye Panjiu poured tea for the two of them, saying, "The people in the house are quite thoughtful."
There was absolutely no reason for Su Yanping to take advantage of his host family, to be lazy or shirk responsibility.
“These things are usually managed by Yan Yu, but another day has passed and there is still no news from Yan Yu.”
Su Yan was unusually anxious.
Ye Panjiu frowned. "It's only a day's journey from Yangzhou to the capital. Logically, news should have arrived by now."
It gets very anxious when there's no news for a long time.
She stood up. "How about I take some people back to Yangzhou?"
They went back and picked up Heng Tong and Jiang Leyue.
Su Yan hurriedly shook his head, "The Wang family matter is not yet over, I can't risk my life. I'll ask someone."
He never underestimated his opponents. After so many years of development, the Wang family must have left behind some hidden tricks.
He shouted, "Da Hong!"
A moment later, Zhou Dahong rushed over, bowed, and greeted, "Sir."
"Go to Plum Blossom Village for me and ask if the village master has returned yet."
Zhou Dahong scratched his head. "Sir, I've grown up in the capital and I've never heard of Plum Blossom Village."
Su Yan hurriedly explained, "Go out from the north gate, and at the first fork in the road, go straight. When you reach another fork, head towards the place with plum blossoms, and you'll arrive. Remember, don't go anywhere else; there are traps there."
Zhou Dahong nodded, "I'll go right away, sir, please wait a moment."
After saying that, he turned and left.
Ye Panjiu smiled and sat in the armchair, looking very relaxed. "What does Lord Su plan to do?"
It's so nice to be able to live a leisurely and carefree life.
Thinking back to when I first transmigrated, I was burdened with debt and not eating well, and my nerves were on edge.
Having come this far, I have money in my hands and am not afraid of being bullied by the powerful and wealthy. That's really great.
While things were peaceful and serene here, Di Yushu was furious and jumping up and down.
He hurriedly arrived at Di Yunxin's residence by carriage.
A small, two-courtyard house in the heart of the bustling city, far from the mansions of the powerful and wealthy.
Two potted pine trees stood at the entrance, welcoming guests. He recognized the couplets pasted on the door; they were clearly in Di Yunxin's handwriting.
He stepped forward and knocked on the door. "Di Yunxin, open the door!"
The door didn't open, but a woman's voice came from inside, "Who is it? What do you want?"
This is not Di Yunxin's voice.
Di Yushu straightened his clothes. "I am Di Yunxin's father."
He assumed the door would open immediately.
The voice that came from inside said, "Please leave, sir. You are not welcome here."
Di Yushu immediately flew into a rage and pounded on the door, shouting, "Open the door right now! How can you not let your father in when he comes to visit!"
"What father? My master says she has no father."
Di Yushu was stunned. Although he and Di Yunxin had indeed written a letter severing their ties, how could blood relations really be severed?
"Don't talk nonsense, go and inform them!" he said, sounding somewhat embarrassed and angry.
Di Yunxin's voice came through, clear and crisp, "I won't see you, please leave."
Di Yushu coughed lightly, "Yunxin, just let me in, can't we talk this out?"
Di Yunxin stood in the courtyard with her back to the door. "I have nothing to say to you. If the Minister likes it, then you may stand at the door."
After saying that, she flicked her sleeve and walked straight into the house.
She had just changed into her official robes and was trying them on to see if they fit.
This person ruined my good mood.
Seeing the crowd of people coming and going, and some curiously watching them, Di Yushu couldn't bring himself to shout. He stomped his foot in anger, turned around, and went back to the carriage.
