Chapter 8 Spending money like water

After washing, Ye Panjiu checked it several times, then boiled water in a pot and blanched the scallions and ginger.

After washing it again, Ye Panjiu put in two packets of seasoning.

She added some salt, then put the lid on the pot and started stewing.

The Ye family has quite a few members, so one stove is definitely not enough. Liu has already started cooking thick rice porridge on another stove.

Ye Taohua brought her nose close to the pot and sniffed hard. "Mother, how long will it take to get better?"

She was so curious; it was the first time she had ever seen anything like it.

It looks very simple.

Suddenly remembering the food her mother used to cook, she shuddered.

Before Ye Panjiu could speak, she saw her daughter disappear in a flash.

She smiled. After arriving at the Ye family's house, Peach Blossom was noticeably more lively.

Everyone else in the family went to the vegetable garden, and Ye Panjiu added some firewood and also went to the backyard.

"Bang!"

Ye Erniu was chopping the firewood he had cut that day into roughly the same length.

A small pile of charcoal had already formed next to Ye Daniu.

Old Man Ye had been chopping firewood all day and was so tired that he squatted on the ground smoking his pipe.

Upon seeing Ye Panjiu, he tapped his pipe and said, "Now that everyone's here, let's discuss how to allocate the money for the charcoal."

Ye Erniu's hands didn't stop moving. "My little sister taught me how to make charcoal, so all the money should go to her."

Sun immediately raised her eyebrows, ready to lash out.

Ye Ming tugged at her, stopping her from speaking, "We will all listen to Grandpa."

Ye Daniu glanced at Liu Shi and said in a low voice, "I also think it should be given to my younger sister."

His main concern was that his family would find out how much his younger sister had spent and cause a scene.

Old Man Ye looked at Ye Panjiu, "Daughter, what do you say?"

Ye Panjiu stretched out her hand and began to calculate, "The firewood belongs to the family, so 40% will be handed over to Father and Mother. I sold the charcoal, so that's 30%. The rest will be distributed according to labor. Whoever does more will get more. What do you think, Father?"

Old Man Ye nodded, his eyes filled with satisfaction; clearly, his daughter had thought all of this through.

The allocation was also very reasonable.

"Eldest daughter, any objections?"

Ye Daniu nodded.

"The second son's family?"

Ye Erniu hurriedly said, "You should give my share to my little sister."

Ye Panjiu slapped him on the back speechlessly, "No, even between siblings, accounts must be kept clear. You can't just give money away randomly."

Just as Sun was about to slam her fist on the table and erupt in anger, she sat down again after hearing her sister-in-law's words.

My sister-in-law's words make sense!

Ye Ming also glanced at Ye Panjiu with some surprise.

"Alright, it's settled then." Old Man Ye tapped his pipe.

Ye Panjiu took out the remaining copper coins and handed them to Old Madam Ye, saying, "Mother, I will make up for Hua Chao's loss next time."

Grandma Ye pushed the money back, saying, "We'll start calculating next time!"

Ye Panjiu shook her head, took Old Lady Ye's hand, and put down the copper coin.

Sun was quite envious of the copper coins. Since the more they did, the more money they would get, she would make sure the people from the second branch of the family did more work!

"Lei'er, Ming'er, you two, tomorrow, no, tonight, will help your aunt burn charcoal."

After saying that, she moved closer to Ye Panjiu and said, "Little sister, your second sister-in-law spoke a little loudly last night, I apologize!"

"It's nothing," Ye Panjiu replied with a smile.

She didn't resent her second sister-in-law's previous attitude towards her; it was all because the original owner of this body was too pretentious.

If she had encountered a sister-in-law as awful as the original owner, she could have gone even further.

Even the tongue and teeth sometimes clash; it's best for a large family to live in harmony.

Sun blushed slightly with embarrassment. "Little sister, do you think I can burn charcoal well?"

"Definitely." Ye Panjiu replied readily.

Ye Taohua also leaned over, "Mother, I want to help too, what can I do?"

Ye Panjiu patted her head with a smile, "There are some things I need your help with."

She preferred to take Ye Taohua with her to better mend the mother-daughter relationship.

She was an orphan, but now she has a bunch of blood relatives, which she cherishes very much.

"It smells so good!" Ye Lei suddenly exclaimed, sniffing the air.

The aroma was so strong that it immediately took over his mind.

"Really, what's that smell? It smells so good!" Ye Erniu threw down his axe and followed the scent.

"My cooking should be almost ready!" Ye Panjiu quickly turned around and walked towards the kitchen.

This taste was familiar to her soul.

With a gentle poke of chopsticks, you can easily pierce through the large intestine and pig's stomach.

Ye Panjiu then scooped out the intestines and added vegetables while slicing the intestines.

Seeing this, Ye Erniu quickly went to wash his face and hands.

He stood by the stove, rubbing his hands together. "Little sister, can I try a piece first?"

Sun, who was half a step behind, grabbed his ear and said, "Don't embarrass yourself here. Your son is watching!"

Ye Ming and Ye Lei turned away in unison, avoiding seeing what was happening.

"It's almost time to set the table, Peach Blossom, tell everyone to get ready to eat," Ye Panjiu said with a smile.

"I'm going to call Grandpa and Grandma!" Ye Taohua scurried away.

Before long, several plates of intestines and offal were placed on the table.

Several plates of vegetarian dishes were also placed next to it.

Ye Lei looked at the large table of dishes and swallowed hard.

Even during Chinese New Year, the Ye family never had this many dishes on their table!

"Let's eat!" Old Man Ye said, picking up a piece of fatty intestine first.

It's soft, chewy, and savory, with a unique chewiness and elasticity with every bite.

There was no fishy smell at all.

"It smells good." Old Man Ye said, quickly picking up another piece of pork belly.

The Ye family members all started eating, their eyes sparkling with delight.

"It's so delicious! I've never eaten anything this good before!" Ye Erniu exclaimed excitedly.
