Chapter 128 Second Bow to Parents

Song Yue slowly stopped and turned around, looking like she had run out of patience.

She has far more cards up her sleeve than Pei Zhao does.

Pei Zhao finally compromised: "Release them first."

"Your Highness, do you think I'm negotiating with you?" Song Yue retorted.

Once the person is released, what right do we have to talk?

Pei Zhao gritted his teeth, took a deep breath, and gave a wink to the guards beside him. Soon, the Grand Madam was carried over. Apart from her slightly disheveled hair, she was otherwise unharmed.

Upon seeing Song Yue, the Grand Madam was overjoyed: "Sister Yue!"

"grandmother."

Pei Zhao suddenly made a move, and the next instant, Song Yue held the dagger to Tiger's heart, raising a brow.

Startled, Pei Zhao immediately stopped in his tracks.

Zhao Qingyan was terrified, her eyes fixed on Song Yue, afraid that if Song Yue's hand trembled, the dagger would sever her heart.

“Third Miss, you win.” Pei Zhao raised his hands.

The old lady stumbled toward Song Yue, and Yun Dong helped her up. Song Yue then said, "And Song Mao too!"

Pei Zhao hesitated for only a moment before giving in and ordered someone to bring Song Mao over.

Song Mao was beaten unconscious.

Song Yue glanced at him and then looked away, handing the toy dagger to Tiger and patting his head: "Good boy!"

The guards put the person down, and Tiger immediately ran to Pei Zhao's side, staring at him with his big, watery eyes, clearly unaware of what was happening.

Pei Zhao quickly ordered someone to take Tiger away.

"Pei Zhao!" Song Yue suddenly called out.

He looked up.

"This is the only time. If it happens again, I will never forgive you!" Song Yue stopped and strode away with her men.

The sound of crying came from inside the house.

Pei Zhao watched the person walk away with a livid face, his fists clenched tightly. As if he had thought of something, a smile appeared on his lips.

"Song Yue, you forced me to do this!"

On the carriage, Song Yue had someone send Song Mao back to the manor, and personally escorted him back to the Duke of Jingguo's mansion. When Tao Shi saw her return, her heart, which had been hanging in suspense, suddenly relaxed.

The old lady's face turned pale, and she fainted.

“Mother!” Tao cried out.

Song Yue grasped the Grand Madam's wrist, her expression changing slightly. The Grand Madam had been poisoned, the poison spreading to her lungs and internal organs, and her life was hanging by a thread.

She quickly pulled out silver needles to protect her heart meridian, cut the old lady's ten fingers to release dark black blood, and then took out an antidote and inserted it.

After all that, it was already evening.

Princess Jiahua only then learned of what had happened today and rushed to the Duke of Jingguo's residence. Song Yue said, "Grandmother is beyond saving. She has at most one day left to live, or perhaps even less."

"This...how could this be so sudden?" Tao's eyelids twitched.

If the Dowager Lady dies, Song Yue's marriage will have to be postponed even further.

Princess Jiahua made a quick decision: "Someone, go and invite Prince Guangjia here immediately!"

"Elder sister-in-law?" Tao asked in surprise, "Are you planning to get married sooner than expected?"

“I can’t wait any longer.” Princess Jia Hua nodded and looked at Song Yue: “Some things can’t be delayed, lest things get complicated.”

She didn't want Song Yue to repeat the same mistakes she made.

After thinking for a moment, Song Yue nodded in agreement: "Mother, I also brought a few people from the Fan family. With them serving her, Grandmother might be able to hold on for a little longer."

The Prince of Guangjia arrived very quickly.

When Princess Jia Hua mentioned this matter, King Guang Jia agreed without hesitation and said that the marriage could take place the next day, and he would immediately begin preparations.

"Yunke," Princess Jiahua said earnestly, "you must protect Ayue for your aunt."

Prince Guangjia nodded solemnly: "Aunt, rest assured, I will protect you with my life."

That night, the Guangjia Prince's mansion was brightly lit, and three thousand guards worked through the night to prepare the residence. The news reached the ears of the Northern Chu Emperor.

The Imperial Household Department staff also began preparations overnight.

The matchmaker, the wedding dress, and all the other things needed for the wedding procession were prepared in just one hour.

The commotion at the princess's residence could not be kept from Song Zhen. He got up to meet the person, and Princess Jia Hua did not hide anything and simply told him everything.

Song Zhen said, "I will follow Mother's arrangements. Mother, is there anything I can do to help?"

"Although the wedding was arranged a bit hastily, Mother has already made preparations, so you don't need to worry. Just stay with Ying'er."

One night, Princess Jia Hua rewrote the invitation.

The order was to send it out before dawn.

Tao kept a close eye on the Grand Madam's movements, not allowing anyone to approach, and only breathed a sigh of relief when she was sure the Grand Madam was still alive.

The dressing lady was brought from Jiang Ying's side and was temporarily borrowed to do Song Yue's hair and makeup. She put on a phoenix crown and wore a blood-red wedding dress. She sat in front of the bronze mirror, touched her cheek, and seemed somewhat dazed.

"A-Yue." Princess Jiahua's eyes reddened. Unlike yesterday's joy, today her heart was filled with reluctance to part.

Song Yue's eyes also reddened, and she choked out the word "Mother".

The civil and military officials were also confused when they received the invitations. Why was the princess's residence holding two weddings in a row?

The princess's residence offered a perfunctory explanation: the eighth day of next month is not an auspicious day, and today is more suitable for holding the wedding.

The wedding was arranged somewhat hastily, but it was still very grand and elaborate.

With a hundred-bearer betrothal gift and a hundred-bearer dowry, the ten-mile-long red procession was the envy of everyone. Even Madame Chiang Kai-shek sent more than twenty-bearer gifts at the last minute.

Before leaving, Madam Tao dressed up the Dowager and even had a door dug out from the place where the two mansions were connected, so that the Dowager could be carried over and placed there.

The old lady was barely breathing and looked listless, but she had her eyes open and a smile on her face. If it weren't for Madam Tao supporting her from behind, she would have collapsed to the side long ago.

After Prince Guangjia and Song Yue bid farewell, Madam Tao smiled and carried the person into the house, saying that the wind was strong and the Grand Madam had gotten some fog in her eyes, so she should go back to wash up.
