Chapter 181 Kidnapping the Eighth Prince's Consort

The next morning, Song Yue learned that Chu Tianqi had been kidnapped. She raised an eyebrow, placed her fingertips on the table, and tapped them lightly.

It's obvious who kidnapped them.

The Eighth Prince's Mansion still refused to give up.

She underestimated Zhao Zhiyan's hidden ambition.

"Your Highness, Lady Xu just sent someone to say that someone bribed the Xu family to apply medicine to Prince Pei Zhao's wound," Amber said.

Song Yue gave a faint "hmm," closed her eyes, and knew she couldn't just sit and wait for her fate any longer; she couldn't remain passive like this.

"By order of the Empress Dowager, Consort Rou is summoned to the palace for an audience."

"yes."

When the imperial edict reached the Eighth Prince's residence, Consort Rou refused to enter the palace no matter what, and sent people to find Zhao Zhiyan and Xu Lingqing.

The two people tried to stop them.

The eunuch said, "Eighth Prince, the Empress Dowager only wants to have a word with Consort Rou. You cannot disobey the imperial decree, can you?"

Zhao Zhiyan rested one hand on his lower back: "The Empress Dowager is not feeling well..."

"There are imperial physicians in the Empress Dowager's palace, and a sedan chair has been prepared outside the gate to ensure that Consort Rou will not be jostled," the eunuch said.

Consort Rou grasped Zhao Zhiyan's hand: "Yan'er, I'm not going. I'll stay in the Eighth Prince's residence and not go anywhere else."

Zhao Zhiyan shielded Consort Rou behind him and whispered to comfort her, "Mother, don't be afraid. With your son here, no one can do anything to you."

He glared fiercely at the young eunuch: "Go and tell the Empress Dowager that I will personally pay my respects to her later."

The young eunuch had no choice but to retreat dejectedly.

Seeing that the person had left, Consort Rou finally breathed a sigh of relief. She covered her face and cried, "The Empress Dowager must have come to see me make a fool of myself."

Her face was covered in scars, her hair was falling out in clumps, and she looked as old as an eighty-year-old woman. The Empress Dowager would surely laugh at her for looking like this.

"Mother, don't worry. No one will dare to touch you without your son's permission," Zhao Zhiyan gently reassured Consort Rou.

He had someone light calming incense in the room, and only left after everyone had fallen asleep.

Before leaving, he instructed Xu Lingqing to protect Consort Rou.

"Your Highness, rest assured, I will definitely protect you."

Zhao Zhiyan was relieved and left, then hurriedly entered the palace.

No sooner had he left than a carriage pulled up at the Eighth Prince's residence. Princess Liang Ying sent someone to deliver a letter to Xu Lingqing, arranging to meet at Tianxiang Tower. The letter stated that she was leaving the capital and was handing over her shops to Xu Lingqing to exchange for silver notes.

Xu Lingqing was alarmed as soon as she saw the letter. She immediately left Consort Rou and rushed to Tianxiang Tower.

Upon arriving at the agreed-upon private room, Princess Liang Ying was sitting in a chair drinking tea, but her expression was somewhat strange. Before she could even swallow a sip of tea, Xu Lingqing pushed open the door and entered.

"Princess, why do you want to leave the capital?" Xu Lingqing asked.

Princess Liang Ying was surprised that the other party arrived so quickly. She cleared her throat and explained, "I... I just feel like I've made enough money."

Hearing this, Xu Lingqing became furious: "Princess, we made a promise to expand our business all over the world. If it weren't for me, you might not be as successful as you are today."

Want to back out now?

dream!

Princess Liang Ying's eyelids darted around anxiously, her forehead covered in fine sweat, and her hands trembled as she held the teacup.

"Did the Crown Princess force you? What exactly happened at the hunting banquet that day?" Xu Lingqing questioned, failing to notice the other party's unease and assuming it was just a guilty conscience.

"Since the Eighth Princess Consort is so curious, why don't you ask me?"

Song Yue stepped in with one foot, a faint smile playing on her lips: "I underestimated the Eighth Princess Consort; she actually has a good head for business!"

“Crown Princess!” Xu Lingqing’s pupils contracted, and a look of fear flashed across her eyes. When she looked at Princess Liang Ying again, the other girl stood up guiltily: “I, I had no choice. Eighth Princess, please don’t blame me.”

Hearing this, Xu Lingqing felt like strangling the person to death.

Bang!

The door was closed.

Xu Lingqing forced herself to calm down. She had only brought a maid with her when she went out today, and there was no one else around. Song Yue was always cautious and must have had bodyguards with her.

She was annoyed that she had been too careless and had actually been scammed.

Song Yue smiled slightly at Princess Liang Ying: "Thank you for your help, Princess. From today onwards, all grudges between us will be wiped clean."

"Really?" Princess Liang Ying's eyes lit up.

Song Yue nodded: "As long as the princess keeps her promise."

"Don't worry, I will keep my mouth shut and won't say a word more than necessary." Princess Liang Ying assured her repeatedly, then turned her back to Xu Lingqing with a "good luck" look on her face.

Xu Lingqing was furious. She forced a smile and said, "Why can't the Crown Princess say what she wants to say? Why did she have to trick me into coming here? The Eighth Prince knew I was coming before I arrived."

"Does he even know that I care?" Song Yue slightly raised her chin; "Hold him down for me!"

A black figure swiftly sealed Xu Lingqing's acupoints, knocking her unconscious. Yun Dong then switched clothes with Xu Lingqing.

Then Yun Dong, wearing a veil, went downstairs, boarded the carriage, and sped off towards the outskirts of the city.

The real Xu Lingqing was taken back to the Guangjia Prince's Mansion by Song Yue.

A cup of cold tea was splashed on Xu Lingqing's cheek.

With a sob, Xu Lingqing slowly opened her eyes, looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings, and looked up at Song Yue sitting opposite her: "You kidnapped me!"

“Yes!” Song Yue nodded as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Xu Lingqing's face flushed red with anger: "Aren't you worried that the Eighth Prince will come after you if he finds out?"

"I was just looking forward to a chance to punish the Eighth Prince. If that's the case, then I should thank you for giving me this opportunity," she said.

Xu Lingqing was speechless.

She found that talking to someone as shameless as Song Yue was pure torture.
